Lovely cafe, lovely people and fabulous homemade food
Maxwells Cafe & Delicatessen – LancasterVisited midday today and had one of the best pub meals for ages. The only problem being that the helpings were far too generous for an old man but I do understand they serve smaller helpings if asked for. The soup was the best soup I had eaten for a very long time. In addition, the meal based on gammon ham was perfectly cooked to my taste. You can see the kitchen was clean and the toilets were sweet smelling and well maintained. Many restaurants and dining public houses have hard seats here they were soft and comfortable. You felt welcome.
Dalton Arms – LancasterSituated in the lovely countryside nr Lancaster is this very pleasant tearoom. I stopped off for a very nice lunch. It has a friendly host and a garden shop in the same complex. My superior sarnie came with a very nice salad. One of the better cafes in Lancashire
Bridge House Farm and Tea Room – LancasterWent to the queen Vic for a meal, the food was appalling, the older lady behind the bar was extremely rude. Last time I visited the pub many years ago the food was exceptional and the staff were very helpful. Obviously my wife and I will not be visiting this establishment again.
Victoria Inn – LancasterVery disappointed. Went for a meal - just under £20 for a mixed grill which when it arrived was very insubstantial, greasy and over cooked. Staff were unfriendly and the place looked and smelt unclean. Went across the village to compare menus and prices and it looks very likely that we will be visiting the Victoria Hotel who's mixed grill appears on the menu "to do what it says!"
Dalton Arms – LancasterI had a lovely meal at the NICE restaurant with a colleague. The risotto was to die for! Would definitely recommend to others.
Nice Bar and Restaurant – LancasterME AND MY HUSBAND(and dog TEX) first visited the Dalton Arms last year.We sat outside as the weather was glorious. We had a meal of prawn salads, and then fish and chips, they were so delicious,we hadn't room for any desserts. We came again this year,14th June, again we sat outside,we had company with us,my daughter Angela, and my 3 grandchildren,my son's partner and 2 dogs.Once again,we enjoyed our meals. Will be visiting your pub between September 2nd to 11th September this year, and once again we know we will enjoy our meals.thank you
Dalton Arms – LancasterVisited after a day out walking around Glasson village. We usually go to The Queen Victoria but it was closed. We decided to try out the Dalton's as we had heard positive noise. The pub was dirty and the landlord hadn't shaved or washed. Service was slow even though there was only one other table in the restaurant. Our food arrived cold and greasy. Salad on the side was brown and lifeless. The whole pub had a funny smell to it, as well as the decorations being drab and dull. There were various instances of loud swearing coming from the kitchen. Overall the whole experience ruined an otherwise splendid day out. Maybe this was a bad day but I shall not be returning to find out otherwise.
Dalton Arms – LancasterWent out to look at lock at Glasson Dock for school project, was drawn to the Stork by attractive window boxes. Lovely friendly staff, great beer garden and excellent food. Highly recommended.
The Stork Inn – LancasterFood was excellent. We were very impressed with the portion size and taste of all meals. Good choice of dishes. Will definitely return!
Nice Bar and Restaurant – LancasterGreat place for good food and good atmosphere as well. Always good on a night out to stop by the bar!
Dalton Rooms – LancasterAfter having a fantastic fish chip's and mushy peas, i had to write this review. All the family loved their traditional home-cooked meals. Great value for money. Can't wait to go back.
The Plough Country Pub and Dining Room – LancasterVisited yesterday lunch , best tapas in the North west . Very welcoming, great prices , great 4 for 3 offer , good size portions and the flatbread with ham cheese fab!! Nice staff and very welcoming venue
1725 – LancasterWhat a great pub to sit outside over a sun-drenched Bank Holiday weekend. We had walked six miles along the canal and disused railway track and the two pints of Lancaster Blonde (served by a Lancaster blonde!) really hit the spot. Ashamed to say we were boring and went for the burgers on the menu but there were lots of South African specialities as well as the normal pub stuff. We will be back and a little more adventurous.
The Stork Inn – LancasterMy wife and I decided to go to the Stork for dinner last night, what a find. The menu was an interesting combination of South African and traditional English cuisine. The food was excellent. My wife had the half Eisbein while I plumped for the burger. Both meals were fantastic, and the portions were generous, I was unable to clear my plate, which is unusual for me. The food was well presented, and piping hot, also the service was superb. Top marks to the Stork, I will definitely be going back there again.
The Stork Inn – LancasterWhilst visiting friends in Glasson Dock the wife and I had a meal in the Victoria and would like to say how enjoyable the food and the service was.
Victoria Inn – LancasterWe visited the Dalton arms on the friday the 15th of April, after going crabbing with my son and mother at Glasson Dock. They have a special on Fridays called fishy Fridays and at £6.65 it is well worth it as you get fish and chips a pot of tea and bread and butter. The staff are really friendly, and the restaurant inside is really nice much to our surprise. The fish was lightly battered and lovley and fresh. All in all a pleasant experience and if when I'm visit Glasson dock, I will certainly try the Dalton Arms again!
