Juicafe – LancasterI have been to Crows a few times over the years and been quite happy with it however a group of 4 of us went on New years eve and were quite disappointed. the food was very good but it was completely ruined by the service. We were left for half an hour with empty plates in front of us and generally the service was very slow and unenthusiastic. It was not very busy and to top it off we could see the staff acting daft rather than getting on with serving. It was a shame as we have always enjoyed ourselves at crows.
Crows – LancasterI recently attended Bar 1725 with a group of 6 friends, this meal was looked forward to as all of us had previously enjoyed tapas meals. We began to be a bit dubious after hearing reviews from others, and all I can say is that we were right to be dubious! First of all they tried to fit 7 people around a table that would just about fit 6. We all ordered our food and despite efforts to order together for the same table the staff flitted between others waiting and didn't put our order through at the same time. The food came out in dribs and drabs, a friend of mine had actually finished his whole meal before I was even served! You'd think they'd have the common sense to work out that at a table of 7 bring the orders out near to each other! The food was poor, the potatoes were undercooked and crunchy, 4 people had ordered bread, only to be told half way through waiting for the meal that they did not have any, I was looking forward to the bread as well, it might have actually felt like I'd eaten something. In addition to this they also confused the order and failed to bring out 4 dishes until we queried it, there response: oh, well you should have ordered everything together. (I was so annoyed at this as we had tried but the staff were very unhelpful) We seriously considered not paying for this atrocious meal, and I would not recommend the restaurant.
1725 – LancasterI recently dined at Penny Street Bridge and I would highly recommend it to anyone coming to Lancaster. The food was very good, still hot when it was served and perfectly cooked,to be honest I struggled to finish it all (I did have a 3 course meal though) The staff were friendly and helpful and not at all intrusive only asking once if the meal was ok, this is one of my pet hates at restaurants and I was glad to say the staff were excellent. We were also quickly served at the bar, when purchasing drinks prior to our meal. I would recommend this restaurant
Toll House Inn – LancasterI have now stayed at The Stork Inn for several nights on 2 separate occasions while working in the area. The setting is charming, the accommodation was of a high standard, and the food was consistently excellent. However, what stands out at The Stork Inn is the consistent very high level of service (not just from Tracy, but from all the staff; even the gentlemen who look after the gardens and window boxes are welcoming and friendly). Tracy did all she could to fit in with the needs of someone working away from home. Like a number of others guests I spoke to during my two stays, I will now use this as a base whenever I am working in the Lancaster area . Highly recommended for either business or pleasure.
The Stork Inn – LancasterWe have had many a Sunday lunch in Lancashire but the best roast beef in years was devoured at the Bay Horse ! It wasn't cheap but it was quality.
Bay Horse Inn – LancasterWe originally only planned a 3 night stay at the Stork Inn, but as we found the accommodation and the standard of food to be of the highest quality we decided to extend our stay to 7 nights, Tracey and her family made us very welcome indeed, and the staff were equally friendly and helpful. We would certainly have no hesitation in recommending the Stork Inn to all and sundry. Jean and Roger Lichfield
The Stork Inn – LancasterWhat a delightful find! The food is not expensive but is fresh & tasty and of a good sized portion too - I can recommend the Boerewors! The staff offer very good service & are family-friendly. Excellent play area for kids. Looking forward to our next visit from Yorkshire!
The Stork Inn – LancasterWe had a fantastic Golden Anniversary celebration for our parents with a party of 30 including 13 kids. The menu was tempting catering to all needs including 1/2 sizes for smaller appetites. Food excellent quality and tasty babotie! Nothing was too much trouble. Great beer garden and play area too. Couldn't fault anything. We'll be back!
The Stork Inn – LancasterWe booked The Stork for a meal with our extended family of 35. Everyone had a marvellous time. The food was delicious and everyone commented on how fresh and tasty it was. The hospitality and service was excellent, it was a great venue and we highly recommend it!
The Stork Inn – LancasterWe had the roast beef that was excellent and very tasty. As was the lemon mousse with raspberries. The young female waitresses were very helpful and friendly. would return!
Bay Horse Inn – LancasterI recently attended a party at Miyabi and it was my first time eating Japanese food. Everything I saw and tasted surprised me - I was amazed at the speed and skill of the chef who cook our groups meal inches away from us. I've been to a few places in Lancaster and this was certainly the most memorable, a great experience and a great meal.
Miyabi Japanese Restaurant – LancasterA sought after place whilst visiting Lancaster and the Lakes. Cosy fires in winter, warm hospitality and fabulous gardens!! Probably the most charming place you will ever visit! They take good food very seriously serving some wonderful South African dishes to tempt appetite. Will visit as often as I can!!!
The Stork Inn – LancasterThe best pub/restaurant and hotel in the area. Always a great place to dine after a beautiful walk in the area. Best place to stay for a weekend away or maybe longer. Great hospitality family friendly with fab facilities. Try you'll never go anywhere else!!
The Stork Inn – LancasterIncredible food, great atmosphere. Best Chinese in the local area by a mile. Need to book weekends it is unsurprisingly very busy
Golden Dragon – LancasterThis is a lovely old pub with great food and a great atmosphere. For those of you with children it is child friendly and the kids meals are all home cooked and not your usual frozen rubbish. Highly recommended, gets busy though so reserve or get there early.
The Stork Inn – Lancasterwent on Tues 19th Feb at around 10pm, not a soul in the place, bearing in mind it was a Tuesday evening. They could have easily turned us away, but what to the contrary they couldn't have been more welcoming. Excellent service and excellent food at a reasonable price, couldnt fault anything, a great experience, definitely to be repeated.
Sultan Of Lancaster – LancasterI first went to Etna as a student in 1979 and now, 29 years later I am still going there and still enjoying the food. This place is authentic, cheerful, friendly, reasonably priced and above all consistent. Excellent pizza with the traditional Sicilian thin crust, really good chicken and pasta, superb stuffed mushrooms and excellent desserts (some of which are homemade) Good choice of wine and the owner (Dominic) is a real character and an excellent host. Hope to be eating here for many years to come!!
