Akbars – Leeds City CentreI love food and this is my favourite place to eat in the UK! I have been going here for at least the last 8 years, and the food and service remains outstanding. Amazing value for money, starter, main and drink for under £13.00. And you are never gonna leave hungry.
Fuji Hiro – Leeds City CentreShame about the service and cost, otherwise this bar could be a best seller, ambience and cuisine wise. The Loos need attending to more regularly.
Las Iguanas – Leeds City CentreBy the people who had Chilli Pepper Deli (which was amazing!) the food and selection here is just as great. We are always reassured by the veggie selection's consistent quality. Recommend a potato and pea corma. Only drawback for me and my memory is cash or cheques - no cards!
Corner Cafe – Leeds City CentreBooked as a treat before going to the theatre, however big let down. We (3 of us) ordered a starter & main course, but the main course turned up first. We explained we had ordered starters & the mains were removed. Our waitress then explained saying she'd 'forgot' too put them through the till (no sorry)! After another 10 mins the starters came, but the 'king' prawns were burnt & small at a cost of £1.50 each - however we dare not complain. Main courses were 'ok' however had been kept warm which we knowe because the side salad on each plate was 'cooked'. If we had known we'd get the same main meals we would have cancelled the starters... Disappointing & annoying - won't recommend or return!!
Lounge Bar and Grill – Leeds City CentreI wasn't too impressed the previous time I visited, but was pleasantly surprised this time. The duck comfit was perfectly cooked and the desserts were delicious, although the crepe suzette was a bit overdone. Would definitely go back.
Browns Restaurant – Leeds City Centreleeds is moving boys, move with times all you'll be left behind?
Sous Le Nez En Ville – Leeds City CentreWe've lived through its many reincarnations but this one is definitely the best. We brought friends here who lived in India and even they raved about it.
Corner Cafe – Leeds City CentreThe best curry I've ever tasted. I am 40yrs old and I have had currys all around the world. Their currys are the best.
Zam Zam – Leeds City CentreDire in most respects! The Welsh Rarebit was a joke: one piece of cheese on toast does not constitute a Welsh Rarebit! Lattes were coffee-less and the menu was stodgy, unimaginative and limited: totally boring and uninspiring in fact. A very poor experience.
The New Conservatory – Leeds City CentreI was quite exited by the reviews I had read of Raymond Blancs new eatery in Leeds and so it was with great expectation that I arrived at what is a tremendous looking restaurant, several visits to the Manchester cousin had never disappointed me, Starters were a little pricey and accompanying salad was roughly presented but the Ham hock Pate was Very nice. My wife's Potato Croquettes were also very nice,Seabream followed which my wife enjoyed (a nice portion of fillet guilthead),However my Duck was a great disappointment raw, rather than medium and Cold rather than hot The Restaurant was busy so maybe just an off night but shall maybe stick to the Petit Blanc next time.
Brasserie Blanc – Leeds City CentreOne trip to Le Besi will get you hooked, whether you fancy lunch, dinner or just coffee & dessert you will be amazed!! Not only is the food out of this world & very well priced the staff will do their up most to accommodate you. The owner is a friendly man as are all the staff he employs. The Christmas menu looks delicious & we are really looking forward to our office Christmas lunch there, but book early to avoid disappointment!! M'shell :)
La Besi Restaurant – Leeds City CentreTheir Donner Kebab is the BEST eva Kebab i tasted. This place is gud when you need a quick meal.
Zam Zam – Leeds City CentreMake no mistake about this, La Besi is a hidden jewel in the Leeds restaurant scene. I work very close to the restaurant and commute every week to Leeds. This is now the only restaurant that I would eat at regularly. The care taken over each serving is magnificent and the owner/manager is a fantastic chap. Extremely friendly and accommodating to one and all. If you're in Leeds, forget the flashy restaurants in the city centre and take the time to find this restaurant. You won't regret it.
La Besi Restaurant – Leeds City CentreI have lived in the round foundry for nearly a year and I have just visited this restaurant....What a fantastic place. One of the best meals I have had in Leeds in the 3 years I have lived here.
The Foundry – Leeds City CentreI have to agree with Natalie. I don't rate Bibi's either. We ate there are part of a large group a couple of months ago and the food was fine, nothing spectacular when you consider the price mind you. It was so crowded that the people on the outside of the group were constantly getting banged into by people squeezing into the non existent gap in between our table and the bar. It's also one of the loudest noisiest restaurant's I've ever been in, we found it difficult to talk which could have been due to our close proximity to the bar. There are n far nicer restaurants with better food and smaller bills than this.
Bibis Italianissimo – Leeds City CentreMy boyfriend and I visited Chaophraya after reading all the great reviews this place has had and we certainly weren't disappointed! There was a great buzz about the place and although it was busy, service was swift and it didn't feel overcrowded. The food was wonderful - the prawns were huge and everything tasted so fresh and authentic. I thought I didn't really like Thai food until coming here, now I realise that I've just been going to the wrong places! An added bonus is the decor which is tasteful and befitting of a Thai restaurant without being tacky. Overall a fantastic place to eat whether with friends, your partner or the whole family and great value too!
Chaophraya – Leeds City CentreRed Chilli is definitely the place for you if you enjoy great Chinese food. We've been twice and each time the food has been very good, although our only complaint is that nothing on the menu is explained which, given some of the unusual names for many of the dishes, would have helped. This is not your usual Chow Mein or Sweet and Sour type of place! That said, the service is good (a bit like a military operation) and you get what you pay for with the food. Ok, it's not cheap but the dishes are varied and good - the set menus are particularly good as you get such a variety of dishes and they tend to be a bit easier on the wallet overall.
