beef stroganoff -the best i ever had
Europa – MiddlesbroughWe had a superb meal at Graveleys this week. Even my wife enjoyed it and she doesn't usually like fish. The mussels starter are succulent and the Haddock is the best i have ever had anywhere. The wine list is carefully chosen and not overpriced and the selection of sweets made me (a diabetic) massively envious of the spouse.
Graveleys Of Harrogate – HarrogateWe had a most entertaining evening dining on the special Christmas Meal devised ingeniously by Minal. It was a complete three-course meal with starters of Poppadum Flower, Bataka Bread wada and a mixed vegetable ring; a main course of three different curries and a delicious dhal served with puris and a very tasty vegetable rice and a mouth-watering, sweet ball.
Prashad – BradfordHad our work Christmas party here. We had a fantastic time. The bar upstairs was opened just for us which we thought it was great cos it was busy downstairs. Plus the young girl behind the bar was so much more friendly and chatty than the not so nice one downstairs. Some of the party didn't feel comfortable standing in the queue when she was staring at us. Maybe she should take a leaf out of the girl upstairs in the bar. Starters were also brought to the table to avoid the queues. The food was great. Everyone loved the crab with ginger and spring onions. The service was faultless. Big thank you to the three girls who looked after us. Loved the cheesy songs, it was great. Shame that it only had a small dance floor. There was a bit of a queue for the main meals downstairs due to a number of big parties in as well. However, we were all well entertained by the manager there. Not only that, he also kept running up and down the stairs to inform us when the queue was quiet and when it was busy. For £11 for the Christmas buffet. it was well worth the value. The only complaint I have is that there isn't a lift for disable ppl to go upstairs.
BC’s – BradfordAte here last night (Dec 09) and was pleasantly surprised we could choose from a normal menu, not a set Christmas special there was lots of choice, all the usual pizzas and pastas but a much wider range of meat & fish specials than many Italians Food was lovely & well priced,as was the wine.Service was very friendly and quick. The restaurant was busy so had a good atmosphere for tables of groups (like us) or couples wanting something more romantic. Would definitely go again!
Bella Roma – WakefieldExcellent food and great service. One of the best Indian restaurants around (and we've tried most of them!). Have eaten in/out at Polash for many years and have never been let down. Try the onion bhajis, they are simply the best.
Polash Tandoori Restaurant – PudseyI went to this elegant restaurant in keighley with a few people from work. When we arrived at moghuls we were treated like royalty and that didn't stop the whole night through, the service was fantastic. The food was also magnificent with a whole delightful range of authentic Indian cuisine such as the succulent tandoori lamb chops for starters and a mouth-watering chicken tava tarkataan for main with the most amazing peshwari naan I have ever tasted! The wine list was pretty good too with a wide range of rather lovely wines catering for all wine connoisseurs. All in all, a perfect place for an enjoyable evening with some amazing food and an unbeatable service. The peshwari naan a must try!
Moghuls – KeighleyA Word Of Caution !!! This Steakhouse Will Ruin Your Opinion of any other steak you ever have again ! No .. I'm Not Kidding Honest !.. Juicy , tasty, tender ,Cooked to perfection Loveliness.....mmmmmm. ! Wherever I have a steak anywhere else in the world I 'm left slightly disappointed and have to go back for my Rythre Fix again The hospitality is very warm and welcoming as you would expect of a traditional Yorkshire pub in the heart of Gods country . All You Carnivores - A Must Do Before You Die
The Rythre Arms Steakhouse – TadcasterSent this letter below to the owner of this place after we visited the place in October ……They never even replied….. AVOID THE PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!!!! This place is very poor from a customer service point of view and the bar is very cramped and they are trying to do too many things in the one venue! Last week I called your bar and booked a table in the restaurant for Saturday evening and was informed by the guy who took my booking that the “Early sitting, 7-7.30pm was fully booked but he could get me in if I would accept a table at 9-9.30pm sitting”. I was told if I got to the bar at 9pm I would be immediately seated once someone had left from the first sitting. I arrived with my wife at 8.50pm and told the guys behind the bar I had a table booked for 9-9.30 pm and they all said fine no problem have a drink at the bar and we will let you know as soon as a table in the restaurant free. The bar was very busy and lots of people arrived and went through to the restaurant (including two other couples) but we were left in the bar so at 9.20pm we asked one of the girls behind the bar what was happening and she said they were awaiting someone to clear the table and we would be seated as soon as they can. At 9.40pm the guy I had originally introduced myself to when I arrived an hour earlier came over to us and asked if we would accept a table in the bar as the people in the restaurant had still not left and could be another half an hour! At this point my wife said no and given it was close to the time when you stop serving food (10pm) it seemed completely pointless. The guy who we assumed was the bar/restaurant manager then snapped back “It was not his fault that no customers wanted to leave, as it was a Saturday night and people were enjoying themselves”. We looked at each other in disbelief, and immediately pointed out that either you have two sittings or you don’t, and told him we were outraged that we had booked a table on what we thought was the second sitting and it turns out no such arrangements were in place. We visit Whitby several times a year and have eaten at the Moon & Sixpence several times before without booking, but as we were in Whitby this weekend and we like the bar, we thought it was worth taking the late booking an arranging our evening around the later eating time. The bar manager on Saturday night was a complete idiot and totally out of order and more or less indicated it was our fault and considering he works in the service industry had no tact, diplomacy or empathy and we were left stranded. We left the bar but as you can imagine in Whitby at 10pm on a Saturday night you are not going to get into another of the restaurants to eat at this time. In our opinion the service was terrible at the Moon & Sixpence and we want to make you aware of the disappointment of two of your customers at the treatment we received, which ruined our Saturday night. I have been to hundreds of restaurants and bars all over the world and in my experience if you have two sittings and you tell customers situations like the one we experienced with your restaurant on Saturday are avoided. The bar manager was an ignorant, arrogant clown and would be better served working at a fast food restaurant like MacDonald’s and not in a good food restaurant like the Moon & Sixpence. Hopefully if you and your staff are aware of the impact their actions have on the customers you will not lose business and leave customers in such a terrible situation in the future. Perhaps you can look into the matter and find out why we were treated so badly when all we did was book a table at your restaurant. Our evening was completely ruined and we were left with nothing to eat and no where to go, but what annoyed us most of all was the attitude of the staff at your restaurant and the fact that other people were sent straight into the restaurant despite arriving much later than us. If you wish to speak to me about this my mobile number is ********** but feel free to write to me at my home address.
The Moon and Sixpence – WhitbyVisited Red Chilli last night as part of a big group and although the food was OK, the service was dreadful! Staff not wanting to take drinks orders and all three tables getting food at different times. To top it off we were told at 10.20pm that we had to order any final food or drinks or go without - so much for a 24 hour city!
Red Chilli – Leeds City Centrethis place is my Friday night treat - my problem is i generally go for the same meal - the grand slam (lamb - chicken chunks and keema mince) just love the meal, the place is small and homely and can get very busy and pub closing time but overall 10/10 for me.
Spicey Cottage – BradfordThis restaurant is sublime. Amazing food, even better service. Could not fault it. Please, please go. I went with my boyfriend for a romantic meal and all we could talk about was the incredible food, fantastically helpful staff and lovely atmosphere. My boyfriend had steak, which was full of flavour and I had the best belly pork, I have ever had (which I always order at every chance I get in a restaurant) so I have a lot to compare it to! The wine was delicious as were the starters. It also was £25 less than anticipated. I would recommend to anyone!
Kendells Bistro – Leeds City CentreThis is a very unique restaurant most people go to an Indian restaurant just for a meal where as this restaurant is like a trip to local restaurant local pub or just a place where you can go with your friends for more then a couple of hours. They don't rush you in this restaurant unlike others, they got a bar lounge, restaurant, coffee lounge and a huge car park. If you haven't tried it I highly recommend it.
Jinnah – FlaxtonI used to be a fairly regular customer of Ring O'Bells and happily recommended it to others but would never do so again following a terrible experience there. I ordered a vegetarian main course and did not like it. When asked if I was enjoying my meal, I discretely said no to the waitress and requested an alternative meal. At this point the owner/manageress came out and announced loudly to the entire room how her 'award winning chefs' could never produce something that tasted awful. She said she herself tasted everything and would never put something on the menu that wasn't given her seal of approval. Her manner and attitude were dreadful and I felt humiliated. By the time my replacement meal arrived (a basic rehash of the same ingredients) my husband had already finished his meal and had to sit and wait for me. All in all, totally dreadful, awful customer service, meal and experience.
Ring O’Bells – BradfordWe dined here a couple of weeks ago and had a lovely evening catching up over an excellent meal. Prashad is unique amongst the huge range of curry houses on offer in Bradford. Its entirely veggie menu is delicious and everything we had tasted really fresh and genuinely homemade, unlike lots of other places we've eaten. We ate here on a busy Saturday evening and the place was packed, with lots of customers obviously regular diners which is no wonder as the food is so delicious. Its a small place with professional, friendly service from members of the family who own the place, which all makes for a really intimate dining experience . Prashad is a little bit off the beaten track but worth making a detour from Bradford's bright lights every time - I would not hesitate to recommend it and we will go again!
Prashad – BradfordThis pub was once owned by my great grandfather and i visited there several years back and was in awe. Had great food and ale. Want to come back sometime.
Travellers, The – RotherhamI recommend staying well clear! I went yesterday 10 minutes after they opened and the food was cold. Not wanting to cause a fuss I discretely asked for my plate to be reheated in the microwave. The response I got was shocking, staff were very rude, claimed that I was wrong and the cold food was actually hot!?!? Then asked me leave and never return and still had the cheek to try to charge me! Avoid this place unless you enjoy being shouted at by staff and management or can't get enough of cold Chinese food.
Banana Leaf – MiddlesbroughI would never go to this place again. The waiter is the most miserable person I have ever had the misfortune to meet who carries no personality, manners nor knows how to dress smart, the owner needs to learn how to wash his hands after he empties the trash outside before he starts carrying food to table and handling your naan breads etc. I can only presume that they rely on the student population in that area who's stands may differ from others. I would honestly advise you to go elsewhere.
