Habibs – BradfordI've been here twice now and the food is delicious. If you've seen Man vs Food, you'll have some idea of what's on offer here - pulled pork hoagies, brisket, corn bread, mac'n'cheese, root bear beans, ribs, and finish it off with an ice cream float and peach cobbler. Always worth it.
Reds True Barbecue – Leeds City CentreWe have been to the Castle almost every week since finding it, and it proved to be a good find. Food choice is varied, if a little dear for a pub. Food was of reasonable quality and decently cooked, that is why we often went for a change from our usual restaurant venues. However, our last visit on Sunday the 16/9/2012 and I mean THIS WILL BE OUR LAST EVER VISIT, was an UTTER DISASTER.Let me say first, the Young lady who served us was Polite, Efficient, Conscientious, Friendly and could not have been better or nicer… No, the problem was with the Kitchen entirely I had the Duck Breast, a couple of the centre slices were edible, just, but a couple at each end were over cooked and very hard. My wife had the Pork which was overcooked and dry and chewy, as overdone pork invariably is, so we left almost all of the meals. But as we were paying the full price for it, we asked to take the meats home for our cats. Even then we were not too upset, as we are retired we dine out several times a week, so are used to the occasional slip-up.Out came the meats for home, rapped in a bit of Cling-film. My wife said it looked very small for what we had left, so she opened it at the table.. Some comedian in the kitchen had put just a bit of the overcooked Pork fat and the very end dark hard bits of Duck in the cling-film…. The rest of the meats were missing. Obviously this had been done intentionally, and shows a total disrespect for the Customer, and what can happen if you send anything back.. As we always have drinks and wine with our meals, The Castle has lost approximately £60 – 70 on a regular basis, this may not matter to them, but there are many venues happy to cater for customers better than this……
The Castle – WakefieldBest Bangladeshi/Indian food in West Yorkshire and also very cheap; delicious, I strongly recommend you to try it!
Spice House – HaltonJust been for Sunday lunch at The Globe Inn, Rastrick Common. What a wonderful meal we had, piping hot food which tasted delicious with fresh vegetables and very tasty gravy. Polite and efficient waitresses all with a lovely smile. Will be going back soon to try the daily menu and would recommend giving the Globe a visit.
Globe Inn, The – BrighouseWe love it we come all the way from Skipton for this lovely food, its worth the drive, great food lots of choice top class.
The Bottomleys Arms – HalifaxVisited 21/9/2012 good country pub, always a good selection of beers, Wainwright , Bombardier, Black Sheep, etc. Good atmosphere, very busy Friday nights, fish and chips good, as is the gammon, prices OK, would recommend.
Elm Tree Inn – SkiptonGreat place I really enjoyed it with my friends also thanks for the whole team and generous food.
Chandelier By Mumtaz – Leeds City CentreBirchwood farm was great for my birthday and uncle anniversary cakes are AMAZING
Birchwood Farm – Castlefordthe pub staff are very friendly and the meals are great and the drinks are cheap.
Three Feathers – SheffieldWhen the present owners took over what used to be "Bella Italia" they had a few problems, but they are certainly over them now. This is classic Italian Bistro food taken to new heights. My family have adopted the restaurant as our dining out if choice. The staff are all welcoming, friendly and efficient. The food is superb. The pizza bread is the best I have ever had. My wife tells me that the Calamari and tiramisu are exceptionally good - and she is an expert in both! The house wines are good and reasonably priced, but the Italian beer, while excellent, is too expensive.I can recommend the restaurant for a quick pizza and a drink for under £15, or a full three course indulgence with too much to drink for about £35 a head.
Arias – GuiseleyThe best... we always recommend this restaurant to our guests and the the next morning all (without exception) say how fabulous the food and service is
The Olive Branch – Hebden BridgeMy husband and I had lunch at the kestrel today,Wednesday 19th Sept. We have eaten there many times but will need ALOT of pursuading to eat there again. The service was appalling, the food was warm NOT hot, and we were offered no sauces, that is vinegar, mustard, mayo etc. We had also ordered 2 teas but they nver arrived. We asked the young man if he could get our teas but we never saw him again, at least not at our table. What an awful experience.
The Kestrel – Harrogatemy friend visited your fish and chips shop and said it was excellent..I have as well visited and found service really good.
Lifeboat Fish and Chips – WithernseaThe service was excellent staff attentive and the meal sublime will definitely use again .
Da Mario’s Pizzeria – Leeds City Centreexcellent walked from a canal barge Landlord made us very welcome despite it being a very busy Sunday food/beer/wine excellent .well kept Timothy Taylor's Landlord and Best. Also Wainwrights and Tetley.
Slaters Arms – KeighleyThis shop holds a Fish and Chip Quality Award from the National Federation of Fish Friers which puts it among the top 200 fish and chip shops in the UK. With over 10,500 fish and chip shops in the UK, this shop is first in its class. It has certainly set new standards for fish and chip shops in Doncaster
Oliver’s – DoncasterFirst used the restaurant shortly after the new owners took over and was impressed by the meal and the menu. Made a second visit a few weeks later and the meal was a bit disappointing. Last night (11/9/12) five of us decided to go for a meal, it was early and we were the only diners. I was disappointed that the menu was the same as earlier in the year when we first visited. I ordered Garlic Mushrooms and when it came it consisted of no more than two mushrooms thinly sliced and swimming in a cream sauce, i was luckier than one of our five though, her starter (ribs) had been forgotten and only arrived when the rest of us had finished. When it did arrive instead of falling off the bone the meat had to be forced off with a knife and my friend just gave up on it.The main courses arrived, well four did, this time it was me who was forgotton. My New Inn Burger eventually arrived and it was as if it had been left on the side and then thrown in the microwave before serving. The burger was dry, the bread roll was hard round the edges and the chips had been warmed up.As we all had something to complain about we decided not to risk dessert and asked for the bill. Talk about adding insult to injury, two guest beers had been added to the bill, we had been drinking wine and soft drinks so it wasn't ours, fair do's it was taken off when we complained. We have probably had worst meals in a greasy spoon or motorway cafe but I cannot remember when, I am not suprised that we were the only ones in the restaurant.
