Prashad – Bradfordgreat food, beer and service would recommend to all friends and family! worth a visit!!!
Blacksmiths Arms – GarforthBest restaurant in the area by far! Food is divine and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. Mondays are the best with a 4 course menu and a live Italian singer all for a tenner! Been loads of times and quality is always as good. Love it.
Amici Ristorante and Pizzeria – KeighleySaturday 9th May Evening Meal for 4 adults. New A la Carte Menu - very good choice and prices. Excellent meal and service again at LeD2. Been on many occasions for lunch and evening meals and it never fails to disappoint.
Le D2 – HarrogateLunch on Saturday 9th May was excellent. Cheap it isn't, but neither is it over-priced and the portions are spot on (if you want great plates full of food then I suggest you go to any of the growing number of places that are putting quantity over quality). The welcome was friendly and the whole place is spotlessly clean and absolutely charming. This is certainly somewhere we will be visiting again.
Fox and Hounds – WhitbyTHE BEST INDIAN FOOD I HAVE HAD SINCE COMING HERE TO LEEDS... THE FOOD HAS A SPECIAL BLEND OF SPICE AND SUBTLETY TO MAKE THE FOOD DELICIOUS...TRY THE BHUNA DISHES AND U WILL KNOW WHT I AM SAYING....GR8 PLACE FOR STUDENTS AND RELATIVELY CHEAPER THAN THE OTHER RESTAURANTS
Akmals Tandoori Bistro – Leeds City CentreVisited the pub on a Tuesday late evening and found it empty apart from a ladies darts match being played. The pub has 2 bars and a restaurant area and I noticed a pool table. A nice little pub with friendly staff and it might be worth a visit at a busier time.
Blue Bell Inn – HullI was born in South India and so know how authentic South Indian Cuisine should taste. I also lived for many years in Mumbai and so know how genuine Mumbai seaside fare should taste too. Dining at Prashad this lunchtime was like being transported back to Mumbai and South India for me as we tucked into Rengan Bhajias, Bhel Supreme, Masala Dosa and Idli Sambar. Kaushy Patel could easily hold her own against any world-class South Indian Chef and Mumbai Chef when it comes to preparing delicious Masala Dosas, Idli Sambars and Bhel of such high quality and consistency.
Prashad – BradfordI choose to go to Prego for it's contemporary Italian dining, with a warm and friendly atmosphere. My favourite dish is the chicken pasta, delicious. Very handy for parking and good value for money. They even do an early bird option too which is good for the credit crunch. I used to live near Brighouse but I now find myself traveling all the way from Holmfirth, just to eat there! Definitely recommend.
Prego – BrighouseTried it tonight for the first time - it was excellent. We had the £11.95 buffet - what a brilliant and huge selection of dishes! Well prepared, very tasty and excellent value for money. Staff were brill as were the surroundings. Will deffo use again
Anams Restaurant – BradfordAte at casa mias in April of this year(2009). All the food was taken out of a fridge in front of you and taken to the back to be reheated. The chicken gave my partner food poisoning and he hardly ate any of it when he realised it looked rotten. The lasagna tasted cheap and like a microwave one. The staff were rude and unhelpful. After asking for water i got dressing put on my salad. We were never once asked if the food was ok. Overall a very bad experience will definitely not be recommending this palce to anyone. I used to eat here a few years back and it was lovely- obviously things have changed alot.
Casa Mia Coffee Shop – Chapel AllertonWe also stayed in their accommodation as well as eating in the restaurant. The whole experience was fantastic, made very welcome, excellent atmosphere and the food was just gorgeous. Not that expensive either and we will certainly be heading back there. Impressive and could not fault any part of it. Even the breakfast was outstanding!!!
Star Inn – YorkThe first point to make is , this is a hotel . The food is none offensive and as diverse as you would expect for a place serving late night workers and regular diners . So i feel telling you what to expect with the food would be picky at best for a place that doesn't shoot for the stars . Its good but nothing more then average . An intimate dinner with a loved one? this might not be the right venue . The list of rules and regulations on the menu (designed for large groups i assume ) can make u feel very uncomfortable. But go and check it out , it doesnt claim to be the best , which could be its finest quality . There is something playful amongst the waiting staff that gives a warm feeling , almost as if they enjoy what they do , a rare quality in waiting staff .
Corn Mill Lodge Hotel and Restaurant – HorsforthThe girls and I visited the new incarnation of Bellinis a couple of weeks ago on a Saturday night. Divino, as it is now called, is a welcome upgrade to this tired Italian eatery. From the moment that we walked through the doors we were entranced by the new decor. The lighting is eclectic and holds your interest, whilst setting an intimate scene at each table, the ostrich leather chairs and purple suede shout luxury and opulence, whilst the myriad of black and white photographs lend a familiar and chic edge. We were seated next to another table of five or six and, before long, we were aware that the gentleman hosting this little shindig was the proud and vocal owner of the establishment. Unfortunately for us, he ran the restaurant with an iron fist and the waiters were left to lavish attention at his feet, whilst effectively ignoring the other 20-30 diners. The gentleman became louder and more demonstrative throughout the duration of what was fast becoming a very disappointing evening. At one point his language was so bad that we asked the waiter to move us to another table. We were informed that the owner was very sorry and before we could say anything else, the owner was introducing himself and insisting that we "Beaoootifull Ladies" joined him for a drink on the house. Classic Mafioso gesticulations and feigned surprise when we declined confirmed to us the nature of the man and that we had made the right decision. Orders eventually placed, the food was soon at our table. Of the dishes ordered, few were more than adequate, with those reliant upon the chef's tomato sauce as a base, quite disappointing. The tomato sauce tasted pre-prepared and almost like a supermarket home brand pasta or pizza topping. One lady's fish dish was dry and overcooked, whilst the two pizzas were more than acceptable, with a lovely light base. Unfortunately, the pizzas seemed to share the same tomato sauce as did the rest of the food and gave us the impression that this is not freshly prepared food. However, the tomato sauce was perfect on the pizzas, if not on the other pasta dishes we had ordered. When we eventually got our "homemade" deserts the loud owner was creating more noise at the next table and it seemed to be the beginning of an argument over the services one of the other diners had supplied him. The language, once again, became very choice with the squat gentleman gesticulating wildly and talking even more like a Mafioso Don than Al Pacino. Shame really, because it just went to reinforce our feelings that the deserts were about as authentically "homemade" as the owner’s accent was Italian. He certainly wasn't Italian! As the argument grew, we declined offers of coffees and decided to leave the next table to it, going home earlier than I have in some time. The bill was a pleasant surprise; our entire meal for six had cost us little more than a fast-food joint. However, upon reflection, none of us had coffees or liqueurs and we had skipped other treats that we would have normally indulged in, had we not been put-off by bravado, bluff and swearing. All in all, we had a very disappointing night and are unlikely to be returning. I can only hope and guess that the staff are far more attentive and charming when the owner is not around and that they are left to do the jobs efficiently, rather than having to deal with complaints of bad language and lack of service.
Di Vino – HeadingleyWe have eaten here a few times in the past and noticed the signs advertising new management and new menus and thought we would give it a try again. Past experiences hadn't been great. What a surprise to see massive differences, the staff were very attentive and the atmosphere was amazing. We decided to have one of their platters to share as a starter, wow wow wow, we had the Teriyaki beef with, mixed seafood, sweet potato chips and spicy chicken wings, with extra bread and oil. My wife opted for the locally sourced Ellison's sausage and mash and I had the homemade steak and ale pie, the portions were generous but it was so good we took desserts as well, all washed down with a lovely bottle of red from their new wine list. Now whoever is driving this tram shed at the moment really knows what they are doing. Food - Amazing, Staff - Amazing, Atmosphere - Amazing, Wines - Amazing, PLATTERS - OUT OF THIS WORLD. I will be back and back and back. Its so good to get fresh healthy unfried food all prepared on site.
The Old Tramshed – ShipleyNice, Suttle, Authentic, and a very pleasant experience. Its one of those places that you get your moneys worth and u can eat very nice food for good value. A must try for those that have not. Ps * the balti dishes are Addictive* that's a warning, i have to take one back for the day after!
