Azeem Restaurant – KeighleyProbably the best curry house in Teesside Friendly staff and a wonderful selection of Indian food cooked to your taste. A must night out for any curry lover
Indian Cottage Restaurant – GuisboroughA small, friendly restaurant with seating for around 30. Good menu with freshly made food of the highest order. Book early as it gets extremely busy at weekends. Does take-away too but be prepared to wait at busy times.
Little India – SheffieldIts AMAZING!!! We went on a Friday and were a bit wary as when we walked in at 8.15 it was really quiet...however the service was brilliant and when the food came we all agreed it was the best and most authentic thai we've ever been to (thats saying alot believe me!!) Cant wait to go back!! This is what we had (3 of us) We had Tom Yum soup which was so fragrant and fresh - made you feel quite healthy eating it! At the same time as sharing some veg tempura (this could have been a bit more varied, it was just broccoli and mushrooms but still yummy!) Then the 3 or us shared Massaman curry (out of this world!) Green Thai curry (gorgeous) and a stir fried chicken with chilli and holy basil, accompanied by a pad thai, 2 portions of rice and 2 bottles of wine! All came to about £84, so less than £30 each for SO much food and 3/4 ish of a bottle of wine each - fabulous!! Like i said, cant wait to go back - AMAZING! x
Thai Pavillion – HarrogateFirst class food with excellent service. We have never been disappointed with either the food, drinks or staff. Keep it up and you will see us again most Wednesdays. (I recommend that even during the week a reservation is made)
Bluebell Inn – PontefractEven if you're not a vegetarian you will enjoy the food here. It is freshly prepared and divine. The menu is changed every month and so we make a point of going every month just so we don't miss out on anything new! The breakfast menu is lovely and on a Saturday morning it's great to have a sausage and mushroom roll with a cappuccino and read the papers. There is a good choice of wines and beers too.
Dandelion and Burdock – Sowerby BridgeLovely: tasty food, large veggie menu, good portions
South Square Vegetarian Cafe – BradfordThis pub has been recently refurbished and has obviously got a new chef to compliment the new decor as our meal was delicious! I had the homemade soup (with homemade bread!) followed by succulent steak (only £9.95!) This place is a hidden gem and I recommend it to everyone who enjoys excellent food in breathtaking surroundings at a very reasonable price.
The Royalty – OtleyAs fab as ever!!
Balti House – WakefieldWent to Meze after reading reviews. Was not impressed I am sorry. Though the staff were welcoming the food was below expectations and I have been to much better Greek & Turkish restaurants in the West Yorkshire region. One in particular which shall remain nameless... The lamb kebab was under cooked. Now lamb is nice if it is pink, but NOT red and bloody. After asking them to change the dish the same kebab came back over cooked!! Bar bill expensive. Nice people, just in wrong business perhaps?
Meze Restaurant – BrighouseI was disappointed with my meal this week at the CADEBY INN. I had an average quality and fairly small sized, fat laden steak, though it had been cooked reasonably, it was not the medium rare that I had ordered. It came with just 8 chips stacked "jenga" style, garnished with half a tomato and half a mushroom too.The accompanying bearnaise sauce was not only luke warm and very oily, but also flavour free. It put me off ordering a dessert to be honest. The Cadeby Inn used to serve fantastic food, in very reasonable quantities and I had been very much looking forward to my meal. Such a shame. I wont be returning.
Cadeby Inn – DoncasterSolo’s is probably one of the best Indian restaurants in Huddersfield. Having its own unique and refreshing team you can come and enjoy good quality food in style. Excellent menu which offers a good selection topped with professional and friendly staff offering the very best of service. Allowing you to bring your own alcohol means no drinks bill making it excellent value for money. Top marks all round, definitely one to try.
Solos Tandoori Restaurant – HuddersfieldAbsolutely terrible experience! First the portions of the main meal were tiny. Bigger than nouvelle cuisine, but more like starter size. Next the food was cold but the plate were red hot, which says to me the food had been MICROWAVED! We complained about the portion size to the owner. His response was that it was a free country and if we weren't happy, don't come back! We sent the food back to be reheated, and to be fair it came back hot, with the added bonus of larger portions. Thank God the kitchen staff give a damn, unlike the owner! To add insult to injury, the bill came back wrong. We'd been charged for a bottle of wine twice... I wish I could believe it was an innocent mistake, but the explanation from the waiter wasn't very convincing, and he didn't seem at all surprised by it. Am I being cynical? The food tasted good, not brilliant, but good. Service from the staff was great. Just avoid the owner, while he is very friendly and outgoing, he comes across as very arrogant and just cares about getting your money!
San Luca – HullI can not recommend this restaurant highly enough; it is by far my favourite. The food is excellent the service far superior to what you usually get in England and the staff are always pleased to see you and welcome you with a smile. Reasonably priced with an excellent menu selection that caters for all palates. The bar is well stocked with a wide range spirits well worth a visit just for a drink. Diane Huddersfield
Julio’s – HalifaxThe food here is fantastic. I had the best french onion soup I've ever tasted and would in fact consider killing for the recipe. Everywhere else its watery rubbish but Kendells version was thick, sweet, loads of onions, a rich dark brown. I could have eaten it again for main course. Instead, I had rabbit which was delicious. Between us, our table had moules marinieres, mushroom croustade, roast leg of lamb, venison medallions, goats cheese tart and duck confit. Everything was pronounced delicious and devoured in record time. The duck fat potatoes were fabulous, so too was my personal favourite, gratin dauphinoise. The creme brulee was seriously good. The pot au chocolat was seriously rich. The service was perfect - there when you wanted it - non-intrusive, and a really good welcome when we arrived. Can't wait to go back.
Kendells Bistro – Leeds City CentreUnder new management and rejuvenated! Visited the pub for the 3rd time in as many weeks. Tuesday's and Friday's is Thai night, though English food is still available. The new chef has certainly put the Blue Bell back on the map and you are wise to pre-book a table to avoid disappointment on an evening. The food is exceptional value for money also. This is a great pub and a beautiful village location and is once again enjoying the ambiance of a full house. This has to be one of the best pubs around the Pontefract area now for eating. Try it for yourself, you will not be disappointed.
Bluebell Inn – PontefractI am sorry to say that the Magpie restaurant must have too much custom; because even before being seated, and whilst waiting for a table the reception staff were offhand and terse and offensive in their treatment of waiting customers. A real 'us and them' approach. In view of this we refused to eat there, walked out and went down the road to the Moon and Sixpence. What a turn up for the books, and what a find.
Magpie Cafe – WhitbyLovely restaurant run by cracking people. Food is always great, had the banquet there many a time, best Chinese around
