Sous Le Nez En Ville – Leeds City CentreWe visited the ate o'clock restaurant as a party of 5 adults and 2 children under 4. I have to say it was an excellent experience the staff were extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome like we were the only guests there. The food was excellent the wine was nice and very well priced. EXCELLENT!!!
Ate O Clock – YorkI've been there several times and always enjoyed it. Unfortunately I will not be going again after receiving extremely bad service on my last visit. The waiter was extremely rude to us, and it ruined our meal.
Bond Street Restaurant & Bar – HullA great mix grill/surf 'n' turf. Gets very busy on sundays so be prepared to wait for your table. All in all quite good but they should do something about the STICKY TABLES.
Chequers Inn, The – SheffieldWe took my mother in law there last week for her 69th birthday, as an asian family there is not a lot you can tell us about curries, my husband and two children aged 19 and 16 really enjoyed the meal, however my in laws were not very impressed. I on the other hand have eaten from the main menu and buffet on previous occasions and find the food is getting better and better each time. Thanks Sahid for making the 'Kheer' everyone really enjoyed it. We shall be returning
Nawaab Khan – RoundhayThis is a very well run pub restaurant. Service is top here, food is maybe a bit above the usual pub fayre - but it isn't cheap.
Triton Inn – BroughThe Sunday lunchtime buffet is excellent with a very good selection of dishes. Will definitely be going again and again . The atmosphere is very comfortable and friendly.
Red Lion – DoncasterThis is by far the best curry house i know. And the fact it is on my door step is even better The food is amazing the service is excellent and i would highly recommend this place. Every visit is excellent and i am gob smacked if anyone does not rate this place. The Prawn shundora Golda is my favorite the staff are more than happy to make things that are not on the menu too. Keep up the good work Rice
Rice Restaurant – RoundhayWe've lived through its many reincarnations but this one is definitely the best. We brought friends here who lived in India and even they raved about it.
Corner Cafe – Leeds City CentreWe were made welcome on arrival, the service was calm and efficient, the ambience good. The food, from the chef's tit-bit of poached pear in balsamic to the desserts every thing was perfectly cooked and presented. The wine list was varied and not overpriced. The best restaurant experience we have had in many a year
Ate O Clock – YorkGreat Sunday meals!!! May be hard to get a seat, but well worth it. Value for money!:-)
Junction Hotel – PontefractBooked for our wedding anniversary having not ate there for 4 years, on the whole disappointed to say the least with my meal although my wifes was acceptable. As a main course I ordered the Rib Eye which was returned without compliment, should not have served it ! Staff seemed to have gone down hill and a mate of mine has described the cost as highway robbery which I would find an acceptable comment. Come on you can do better than that !!!!!
Olive Branch – HuddersfieldThe best curry I've ever tasted. I am 40yrs old and I have had currys all around the world. Their currys are the best.
Zam Zam – Leeds City CentreFood is ok (although no matter what type of curry you get they all seem to taste the same) and it's one of the cheapest restaurants I've ever been to (£78 for 13 of us!!!) but the service is horrendous. I've actually been back four or five times with friends purely to show them how bad it is - waiters literally throw plates of food onto the table, scowl at you at all times and seem to find it extraordinarily inconvenient that anyone would want to order food. A truly odd dining experience!
Seven Spices – Headingleyone of the best around been more than a dozen times ,can sometimes be quite busy but its well worth if you do have to wait a little, the Sunday lunches are spot on ,meals are always well presented, hot and plenty of it, and if you manage the main course then the sweets are of the same high standard very few in my opinion even come close to it
Railway Inn – HullGreat little Pub - proper home cooked food. Recently re-furbished and now has air-con, so even when busy, it's a pleasant environment. Thurday night quiz is great fun - the quizmaster should be on stage in London - he's really funny! All in all, a great place to eat, drink and be merry!
The Bottomleys Arms – HalifaxWe enjoyed an excellent lunch here with our two teenage children. The service is attentive, without being intrusive. The lamb was perfectly cooked - with the waitress at pains to point out that it would be served "pink" (no problem with that)- and was served on a bed of crisp green beans, sauteed potatoes and feta cheese. The other dishes of meatballs with spaghetti and burger and chips were pedestrian but well received by the younger members of the party. An excellent lunch in relaxed surroundings.
Trio – HeadingleyThe food was not nearly as good as the other reviews suggest. My starter was rabbit terrine served on a couple of slices of toast. The chunk of terrine was very bland - very like a bought-in commercial product. (My wife had ordered a smoked salmon pancake which turned out to be a couple of slices of smoked salmon wrapped around a sort of potato croquette!) My main course was King Scallops and Crabmeat served on over-used (blackened around the edges) clam shells topped off with cheese and grilled - for far too long. I had a strong suspicion that the scallops were frozen and the crabmeat was commercial. The cheese used for topping was far too strong and completely overpowered the taste of seafood. It was accompanied by a loose ball of salad leaves - mostly parsley and what I think was rocket. A good deal of the leaves were black and soggy - just like when you leave leave salad in the packet for far too long in the fridge at home and have to throw it away - and there was grit around the parsley leaves where they hadn't been washed properly. I drew this to the attention of the floor manager who went to speak to the chef. She came back to say that the chef had said that the appearance had something to do with pesto (I didn't understand what he was trying to say and there wasn't any pesto on the leaves). I could tell she wasn't convinced either and she did apologise - but didn't offer to change the soggy mess! We paid £2 extra (very reasonable) for two portions of vegetables. The vegetables were only briefly cooked just as I like them (except the leeks which are uneatable when only flash fried). For wine, I chose a New Zealand Pinot Gris which was very pleasant and at £20 a little dear, but par for the course. La Rue could be good if only they would use good fresh produce instead of buying in pre-made food and if they took a bit more care. Rabbit Terrine isn't difficult to make from scratch and should be very tasty. It's not difficult to wash salad properly and throw out stuff that's past it's best. And if a customer shows you a salad with black soggy lumps of rotten leaves in it - for goodness sake, don't make excuses for the chef, apologise and change it!
