the best restaurant i have been to.
Bollywood Cottage – SkiptonI have to say having read all these recommendations before I went I was expecting a great night. But I was so so so disappointed with everything about the experience. We went for a family dinner and apart from waiting 20min to get a round of soft drinks, the service was slow, rude and without a smile for the entirety of our visit. But once the food arrived this was the least of our problems. The batter on the fish was flaky, crunchy and dry - the chips were not fresh and I suspect reheated. And £12 for chicken and chips for a 9 year old is ridiculous. I won’t be going back again.
Graveleys Of Harrogate – HarrogateWow! If you haven't tried it yet, go there now. Turn off your computer, and go there. My wife and I have been there three times, each time trying something new, and each time being amazed. Not a single bad moment. Even went there once with our two young daughters. It's bordering between the average to pricey side.. but in comparison, worth every pound.
Thai Pavillion – Harrogatemy family and i went to the banana leaf all you can eat restaurant in middlesbrough, the food was nice but the service was shocking, particularly from one man who looked like the supervisor,he treated us all like cattle, herded us in and herded us out!i will not be going back!
Banana Leaf – MiddlesbroughWent to Central Park as we often do (but will no longer) with party of 17 to celebrate my wedding anniversary. When it came to time to settle the bill went to pay in couples as we always do and was told in no uncertain terms that one person would have to pay the whole bill and then get the money back from the others as it was to much work for the staff to do this for us. After spending nearly £400 on food and drink I would think that spending five minutes working out a bill when everyone new what they had and taking maybe four individual payments would not be so hard. When questioning why this policy had been implemented I was told it has always been this way despite the fact that we always pay separately and after pointing this out to the manager he became dismissive and then walked away to leave a young girl on the till to take the flack while he disappeared to deal with something more important than his customers. In future we will be going to one of Middlesbrough’s other restaurants where they treat there customers as more than an annoyance or inconvenience.
Central Park – MiddlesbroughI once ate at the cafeteria in Morrison's. This was slightly better in taste, but I paid twice as much. Service? Ambience? The place was dirty, the service was poor. So what'd I pay for? The cafeteria style place settings? No thank you.
Vivido – HarrogateI have to agree with Natalie. I don't rate Bibi's either. We ate there are part of a large group a couple of months ago and the food was fine, nothing spectacular when you consider the price mind you. It was so crowded that the people on the outside of the group were constantly getting banged into by people squeezing into the non existent gap in between our table and the bar. It's also one of the loudest noisiest restaurant's I've ever been in, we found it difficult to talk which could have been due to our close proximity to the bar. There are n far nicer restaurants with better food and smaller bills than this.
Bibis Italianissimo – Leeds City CentreLast time I went past this place it was closed down - what a difference. The service is very good for a pub, food is good as well even if a little expensive.
Triton Inn – BroughGreat service but quite expensive and food was good but not as good, say, as the Altisidora near Beverley.
Triton Inn – BroughOutstanding, food - divine, service - perfect, not lacking yet not overbearing, ambiance - just right, everything about this place made for an exceptional evening. Highly highly recommend it. Not cheap but like the adage says - "you get what you pay for". Superb.
Holdsworth House – HalifaxThis restaurant used to be very good but has rapidly declined perhaps due to complacency after building a good reputation. The waiters were extremely arrogant and unhelpful. The chicken was undercooked of one member of our party and on complaining he was summoned from his seat to the kitchen to be confronted by the chef. A wholly unpleasant experience and seriously overpriced for average food - if looking for a good restaurant in the Hull area restaurants to be recommended include: Lazaat in Cottingham, Luciano's in Hessle or San Luca in Hessle. Medici's will certainly have to get its act together to compete with the many other quality restaurants in Hull.
Medici Restaurant – HullI found the atmosphere in the restaurant was lively yet relaxed, the manager was very attentive and made the visit memorable, he went out of his way to make us feel like we were special and he was happy to see us. the staff were attentive to our needs and i would recommend visiting the restaurant. the food is as to be expected in this type of restaurant. I have visited many Frankies & Benny's over the past couple of years but never been made to feel this welcome
Frankie and Bennys – BatleyI would like to warn people about this Frankie and Benny's the staff are very good but the manager made our visit uncomfortable I attended with my wife and two children we were pushed in to the bar although empty table were available. The manageress had told us that we could not sit there as these tables were not for children. as we waited for our table a couple of business men came in and were sat directly in to the empty tables. This is definitely not as child friendly as other Frankie & and Benny's I have visited. I found the manageress rude and unwelcoming to me and family. I would say that her attitude changed when ever a man in suit came through the door. The food was ok nothing to write home about and under portioned from you would get at other Frankie and benny's. the waitress was very pleasant and seemed to be scared of the manageress.
Frankie and Bennys – SheffieldHave eaten here several times the food is always freshly prepared. Standard pub menu, but try the good selection of specials for both non-vegetarians and vegetarians. I highly recommend The Masons Arms as we have never been disappointed by the food or the people, whether locals or visitors.
Masons Arms – SkiptonAs an Aussie on a 9 hour wander around the Dales from Haworth to Ponden Hall and all around, on the way back to Haworth where I was staying it was great to come across The Wuthering Heights Inn when I was feeling like a good meal after almost 6 hours walking. Having ordered a Ploughmans Lunch and finding that one of the best red wines they had was an Australian Shiraz I went out the back to wait for my food to be served and then I felt right at home. With an Aussie red in my hand I sat down under two great big Fosters unbrellas to shade me from the Yorkshire sun - almost home sweet home! Thank you Wuthering Heights Inn - it was good food, great wine and wonderful shade and ambience. John Wilson, Melbourne. September 2007
Wuthering Heights Inn – KeighleyI last went to McCoys at the Cleveland Tontine 15 years or so ago ..... and went again recently with my wife, sister and brother-in-law. The Cleveland Tontine – NorthallertonFantastic atmosphere accompanied by fabulous food and good wine. The decor and layout of the venue transports you to a virtual holiday destination, the restaurant would not look out of place in a holiday resort, Greece maybe. The waiting staff were ever helpful and polite, the service was first class. Al round excellent night.
