I had never had Japanese food before and absolutely loved it! The atmosphere at the restaurant was great and the staff were really friendly and made you feel really welcome. The chef was really funny and put on a great show. Great food, great atmosphere and loadsa fun!

this is the first time that we have visited and it certainly wont be the last. the staff were really friendly and polite and the food was lovely. definitely will make this a regular place to eat out!

I arrived on my own this last Saturday ..after a glass of wine at the Hare and Hounds pub across the road . I entered and asked the waiter i there was a table for one?..he went away to ask the manager ..who came over and said No ! ..there was no reason given ..there were half a dozen people in the restaurant.. so i went away and telephoned the Ashoka ..a much smaller restaurant ..and said please sir we await your arrival..after which i had a very pleasant meal am still waiting for a reason .

Beautiful food, some of the best Thai I have eaten. It was particularly pleasing to see a wide range of vegetarian on offer, as all too often restaurants are so lazy in this regard. The only (minor) criticism is that we felt the tables were too close together, but that did not spoil a lovely evening with great food and wine list.

Great bar, brilliant music, drinks, bar staff etc. what lets this place down severely are the door men, I have never seen much trouble in here which probably means they do a reasonable job. However, I find them to be rude and offensive when queueing. I have been accused by them of 'causing trouble' in the queue. This was upsetting, embarrasing and blatently untrue. I was never asked to leave the queue but left queueing in the rain for about half an hour only to meet my accusation at the door.... shame. I really like this bar and oporto, but the memory of that night and other stories I have heard leave a nasty taste in the mouth.

Okay... Now I've eaten curry at a good few places in my time, but my experience at Sweet Centre tops the lot! The food was awesome (chicken masala with chick peas) and the staff were immeasurably helpful. I would recommend this place as being head and shoulders above the rest in Bradford, if an authentic curry is what you're after.

What a little gem this one is. Since we first visited three weeks ago we cannot stop going back. Truly delicious Italian food, certainly the best I've had in a while. It will be interesting to see if other Italians in Wakefield raise the bar to compete. The lunchtime menu is a real bargain too - any pizza or pasta based dish is only £4.50. Could do with a more extensive wine list though

First time we tried to go it was on the weekend and they looked at us like idiots because we hadn't booked in advance. We went back on a weeknight and it seating was no problem.

Pizza express is one of my favourite restaurants to visit. The food is always to perfection and the service is usually fairly quick. However, i found that the service at this particular restaurant was rather rude. Simple things such as asking if we were enjoying our meal, saying thank you as we left etc. Myself and my partner of 25 years were seated round a corner which seemed slightly cut off from the rest of the room. Despite the imperfections of the dining and seating arrangement, the food was rich and at a moderate price. I would suggest that the staff make more of an effort for peoples birthdays though. It was my partners birthday celebration and the waiter simply gave him a candle. Not much to the imagination there!

very nice food, great staff, well worth a visit

we went on 06.09.07,the decor is very nice and the staff and service was top notch. We ordered 3 main courses which were served swiftly. One dish was fantastic but the other two were too salty and very very spicy. We would revisit to try other dishes to see if they are an improvement

Pub or restaurant meals very generous and reasonably priced. The steak pie is heavenly but do try to leave some room for the treacle pud. I cant go without mentioning the home cooked REAL chips. But if you only want a salad you will not be disappointed as these are generous. Often busy but without a hurried atmosphere, staff always friendly and caters for all age groups , very popular with the greying set but don't let this put families or couples off, all are welcomed. Strange mix of modern and traditional decor but comfortable for bar meal. Very good value

Veggie restaurant where the first person to book a table on an evening gets to choose the theme of the food. They like a challenge, so Peruvian is welcome!

I am afraid that i can not agree with the other reviews. My partner and i went last night for the early bird special and our experience was not enjoyable. My partner asked the waiter what was served with the Parma Ham starter and the reply was 'what do you mean its Parma Ham and Melon' although when the starter arrived it was a platter of Fruits with Parma Ham - the waiters approach was not at all helpful. And to make matters worse the Melon was not even ripe. The Garlic Bread does not have any Tomato on as stated on the menu! Main Course was very bland and extremely greasy the Pasta dish was served with Broccoli and a Garlic Cream sauce and was not at all appetising. The 2 waiters did not at any point throughout the main course ask if we were happy/everything OK. On paying the bill the girl behind the bar asked if everything was OK we told her no all she said was sorry! I will not be recommending the Restaurant and certainly will not be returning.

Lovely old village and old pub with terrific ambiance. Well worth repeated visits if only to enjoy the draught beer (Timothy Taylor's) and the excellent young staff who are attentive without being obtrusive, very polite and extremely helpful. The same can be said of the manager.

Lunchtime special menu for a fiver! Nice modern surroundings wooden floor, beech etc, with hints of oriental pictures and bamboo, bright and airy, nice and clean. Service and food excellent. Specials board which looked interesting and inspires another visit. Serving customers of all age groups when we visited with obvious regulars (late season-lunchtime), nice atmosphere not hurried with our meal at all and felt very relaxed. I would visit again.

We had a great meal for our wedding anniversary, which made it very special. We both had steak. It was the best I've had!!!!!The atmosphere was buzzing and Kenny was great fun. The other staff were friendly. A lovely restaurant and reasonably priced for food of such a high standard!!
