Old Mill, The – Brighousethe food here is fantastic. all fresh and original spices used. the food is always the same and the taste, texture, quality etc never changes. they do a 10% discount card for £5 so every time you go you get 10% off all your meals. you must give this a try as we did when we saw the reviews on mad cow. we always eat here now. the decor is a tad outdated and could do with re-painting but you will not be disappointed.
Taj Cottage, The – DoncasterGood quality food at a reasonable price
Styrrup, The – DoncasterPaula, the Landlady is always welcoming and her expertise as a chef and Pub Manager are evident in her food offerings and in her choice of staff. Speciality nights, usually every other Thursday (twice monthly), currently alternate between a fish night (sample: starter full dressed crab and salad followed by King Prawn, Monkfish and Scallop Skewer covered in Tikka Sauce and served with rice) and then a steak night (fillet, rib-eye, sirloin). The price, £21 for two at time of posting includes a full bottle of white or red wine per couple. The freshly prepared and home cooked food is excellent, whether it is a baguette and chips, fillet steak or Fisherman's Pie to name but a few. The chunky chips at this pub are fantastic. If you've forgotten how good real chips can be you should remind yourself sometime soon by visiting The Plough at Warmfield
Plough Inn, The – WakefieldWe are regular visitors to Aldos in Cleckheaton, so we recently took some friends of ours from France. They thought it was SUPERB! and said it was by far the best Italian they have ever experienced and can't wait till they visit England again It is so good to be able to take friends to your favourite place and know they will not be disappointed Thank you Pino and staff for another great evening.
Aldo’s Pizzeria – CleckheatonWe dined in a couple and later in a table of 12 persons. Both occasions the food was out of this world, the service was excellent and very professional but also very friendly indeed. My husband had fillet steak and I had monkfish gambas. Delicious and the side orders of veg were just done as we liked, not over cooked like in some places! Homemade tiramisu and creme brule were also great. My friend had their homemade panna cotta and was left speechless. The chef came out of the kitchen who told us he is the owner and treated us with such attention. The whole atmosphere was great, but most importantly the food was delicious, fresh and with a great variety. In our table of 12, the chef made a dish to please 1 of us with ingredients just to please that person, the chef/owner is exactly what you would call a chef! They are moving to Batley in the new year and we will most certainly be following them as customers.
Roberto’s – BatleyFood never fails to disappoint .. With a good range of pastas and pizzas and an excellent specials board. The staff are very friendly and create a great atmosphere, always made to feel welcome.! :]
Aldo’s Pizzeria – Cleckheatoni went to the restaurant just by chance, we had to wait a bit for a table as it was busy-i didn? mind as the gentleman behind the desk was very friendly. we got a nice cosy table in the corner and chose a preset menu. the food was absolutely fantastic. ive never eaten such good Chinese food. the only wrong thing was one of the waiting staffs miserable face but as all of us there work in the catering industry, we could understand that it was a busy night for them and its hard to always smile. I know live in Southampton and i wish there was a restaurant like that here. I would recommend it to anybody any day! The location is also ideal for a night out!
Red Chilli – Leeds City CentreWe eat at Amaans on a regular basis and we do not waste our time going anywhere else now we have found it. Naveeds, Agraar and the Akash pale into insignificance after a visit here. OK so the parking is rubbish, but you can always park on the main road and walk up the tiny incline. It is well worth seeking this place out if you are not from the area, it is busy all week through for a very good reason. The poppadoms are great not greasy like some places and every single dish I have had has been excellent especially the Chicken Vensi which is phenomenally good. If your eyes are bigger than your belly they also will make you up a doggy bag if you ask nicely !
Saffron Desi – MorleyAbsolutely brilliant. I have been to other well known fish restaurants in Yorkshire but Graveley's white moist lightly batted Haddock is a class winner for me. The chips and mushy peas are perfect. Ask the wife! Many thanks for an enjoyable meal.
Graveleys Of Harrogate – Harrogatevery good place for special occasions, and never had any problems with the food or service. Portion sizes look small BUT very filling so don't be fooled.
Thai on the Square – WakefieldWe booked on Fri 8 December & managed to get a table for 4 for half an hour later. On arrival the restaurant was very busy & the atmosphere was buzzing. I think the building, a former bank with very high ceilings added to the atmosphere, as it was slightly echoey. Although very busy, the service was good and staff friendly. There was quite a bit of table moving going on throughout the evening, which was a bit distracting, but maybe this was to accommodate some of the larger Christmas parties booked in. The food was very good. The two teenagers had pizzas and the adults had steaks. The steaks were cooked to our individual requirements as it should be, and was of very good quality - the sauces we both had were good. Portions were of a good size. Our daughter and her friend had the chocolate fudge cake to finish, which they both thought was the best they had had, and not as sticky & sickly as it sometimes can be. It had tiny pieces of fudge in - portions were of a good size for those with a large appetite. We had the house wine, which was good and very well priced. Cost of food was slightly higher than you normally get in your average Italian restaurant, but quality was good and therefore good value for money. Don't know when we'll be back as we were just in Sheffield for the weekend, but would certainly recommend Rossi's, and we would visit again if ever back in Sheffield.
Rossis – SheffieldHaving been to Thailand on holiday 3 times it was always going to be a struggle to find the same standard of freshness and quality back home. Chaophraya more than exceeded my expectations. The service was second to none, the atmosphere authentic and the food absolutely fantastic. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this restaurant. I took my parents there a few months ago - the first time they had eaten Thai. They are now addicted! Superb!
Chaophraya – Leeds City Centrethis was the first time we had been to the fox house and we would recommend it to anyone who was looking for a good freshly cooked meal a nice change from all the chain menus around today excellent value for money, our only criticism would be wear a jumper because the dining room was a bit chilly
Foxhouse Inn – HolmfirthFood is wonderful. Tasty, filling and great value for money. Use the takeaway and save even more money.
Shahi Tandoori – WakefieldI think it is worth trying. You will not regret it whatsoever.
Madras, The – HullBuffet Style and every day a different theme. Tasty too
Hitchcocks – HullI love Dandelion and Burdock ..... I am not a veggie... vegan ... but I have a lot of friends who are and I have recently become more aware of the shameful way that animals are treated .... I am on a journey and who knows I may cut out meat eventually ..... Anyway I thought I would be daring and try a highly recommended Vegetarian restaurant ... what can is say .. except wow ... amazing food and great ambience .... and afterwards for a good old drink .... Try the Puzzle Hall (ask the owner for directions ) for great live music and good atmosphere ........ a wannabe veggie .. getting there .. and a great night in Sowerby Bridge
