top notch
Banana Leaf – MiddlesbroughThis place really does have the lot: great food, great service, great atmosphere and great prices.
Sukhothai Restaurant – Chapel Allerton – Chapel Allertonhave visited a couple of Michelin starred restaurants and the box tree is easily within this category. The ambience is romantic and cosy. The staff are attentive without being obtrusive. There was an extensive wine list which could have been daunting but the wine manager was helpful without being patronising Food - I chose the scallops with a creamy sauce which was good but overshadowed by my partners choice of guinea fowl with foie gras and lentils cooked in pork jus which was to die for. Main course I chose the fillet of beef and my partner had veal. Mine was outstanding whilst my partner said his was extremely good. We decided not to have deserts as we were full but these looked delicious. We finished with a desert wine and port which were both fantastic - my partner going for the ?elected port?which turned out to be a 1967 fine port (can? remember the name!) We asked for some petit fours with our wines (we don? like coffee) and the waiter appeared with a wooden box with hand made chocolates from which he gave us a selection. The total cost for two including pre-dinner drinks, wine and port/desert wine was £140. Not cheap but worth every penny and a very special treat. I would definitely go back.
The Box Tree Restaurant – IlkleyEven though I thought the cost was a bit pricey, you get what you pay for. It was the best Asian food I've had. The service was excellent. I would definitely recommend the Orchid to anyone who likes great food and great service.
Orchid Restaurant – HarrogateChaophraya wow what a place never have i seen good food, good service and a great atmosphere all in one place this is my first choice restaurant and can not wait to go again highly recommended
Chaophraya – Leeds City CentreGreat food and service - basic menu but great if you're strapped for cash!
La Besi Restaurant – Leeds City CentreMy wife and I consider ourselves as experts when it comes to curry. We have dined at almost all of the top curry restaurants in the country for many a long year. Most recently we have eaten at the Red Fort, Ziaka, Chutney Marys, Bombay Brassiere etc. etc in London and at places such as the Shimla Pinks, Agraah and Akbars nearer home. We are undoubted in our opinion that the Nawaab Khan Restaurant in Oakwood, Leeds by far surpasses the food quality of other Indian food outlets. The outstanding taste of the starters and main courses are complimented by what I can only describe as superb draught beer and lager. Now that is rare for an Indian restaurant. On our last visit, we ate the main course dishes of Lamb and cauliflower and Sajids' special with aloo paratha, poppadoms and vegetable pilau rice. The meal was top class in every respect and the friendly service was excellent. Suffice to say that we are reserving our table for our special occasions and parties on a regular basis. Well done Sajid, keep up the good work.
Nawaab Khan – RoundhayStupidly overpriced lunch menu (£7 for a burger with no fries or salad!) but reasonable Sunday lunch (they tend to only do beef rather than giving the choice of beef of chicken though) and a nice atmosphere following extensive refurbishment in 2004.
The Faversham – Leeds City CentreCould not complain at all, best Indian restaurant more miles.
Saffron Desi – MorleyI took a drive out to Lockwoods (closer than I thought to Leeds!) after seeing it on Sugarvine and had a really nice meal. The aesthetics are modern and well thought out which fits in nicely with the Ripon backdrop. I would recommend to all as it beats the socks off most city centre places that charge to much!
Lockwoods – RiponOne of the best restaurants in leeds for sure. Brilliant service, the restaurant interior is a mix of modern minimalism and classic Thai, with a few mandatory elephants. Works really well. The food is very good too, good size portions. Not sure about the noodles though, a bit pricey I reckon. Get one of the set menus and you can't go wrong really, not bad value for money. I'd definitely return.
Thai Edge Restaurant – Leeds City CentreVisited this weekend - what a great way to enjoy marvellous food with friends. The service was outstanding and very attentive, the food some of the best I have ever had. Congratulations to Richard and all the team
The stroom restaurant and function rooms – PudseyThis Inn has recently changed hands and the new owners have improved upon the already high standard of Thai food that is available to Takeaway, eat in the Bar or the very pleasant Restaurant. I highly recommend it!
The George at Wath – RiponI think it? a brilliant Restaurant in Leeds It will be my favourite now, the pizza and pasta were great and Fresh and cheaper for Italians restaurant in Leeds. Service friendly and not pushy. All the best for La Besi
La Besi Restaurant – Leeds City Centrebest out of all the nawaab group
Nawaab – HuddersfieldExcellent value buffet with a delicious range of authentic food served in lavish surroundings - no alcohol but this leaves room for some tasty virgin cocktails - can't fault the place
