What a lovely pub. We had a great lunch there, the food, the beer, and the service was outstanding
The Halfway House – ShipleyThis is the best bar and restaurant in the area for miles, it is so clean and the atmosphere is so relaxing add to that the staff are beyond belief in attention and service. Just to finish I will spend as much leisure time as possible there.
The Little Blue Orange – ShipleyVisited with friends to try their early bird menu. Apart from a slight mix-up between two different duck dishes, the service and food were very good, especially the mutton pie starter. Will be back.
The Terrace Cafe Bar – ShipleyI visited Thai Fever on Saturday 3 August, my second visit in recent months. Both times I found the food to be very tasty and the portion sizes were very good. Those who do not like spicy food should not be put off trying this place as they offer non-spiced dishes as well as asking if you want the spiced versions mild, medium or hot. I can particularly recommend the spare ribs (meat fell off the bone) and tempura (very light batter) starters and also the char-grilled seafood (perfectly cooked) and stir fry roast duck (very tender meat) dishes.
Thai Fever – ShipleyWe went for a friend's birthday. The service was really good and the food was delicious. Good size portions too. Would definitely recommend to everybody.
The Old Tramshed – ShipleyTried South Indian food for the very first time in Kerala Cafe and its simply awesome. Good quality and tasty food. Tried Masala Dosa and its massive and quite filling. I'll definitely go back
Kerala Cafe – ShipleyGreat for business lunches or a romantic meal for two. Situated on the main parade of shops and restaurants in Saltaire. I went for lunch with our PR consultant and we both enjoyed a light lunch.
La Rue Restaurant – ShipleyLove Yo Yo's, always a special night when we dine out here. The cocktail bar has some of the yummiest drinks in Yorkshire!
Yo Yo Bar and Restaurant – ShipleyFood amazing and very well presented. Good quantity and reasonably priced. Service extremely slow (Business or their light lunch takes up the whole afternoon) even though each visit we have been the only people in. We wonder if its so slow in order to make you buy more drinks in the interim as asked several times if further drinks required. Coke is served in short measures as well as the glass being stuffed full with ice. Also we hate the salt and pepper which is served in help yourself with your fingers bowls yuk!!.
La Rue Restaurant – ShipleyI moved to the area recently and am not a big takeaway eater as I always think they are substandard, however yummy house proved me wrong my partner and I had the most amazing takeaway the other night, beautiful food that taste amazing and authentic , an efficient and friendly service also. I would recommend trying the duck And pancakes and special chow mein mmmmmmm just about to order again
Yummy House – ShipleyWell we went for our anniversary and it was excellent ! we did not book, but were warned there was only 2 waiting staff on, this was not a problem. All the food was excellent, my trio of puddings was made specially to cater for the puddings I liked. We had one small mishap the coffee had the wrong liquor, however was changed as soon as informed. Excellent place to go , next time will try the lunch menu. Consider this as a place to go YOU WILL LOVE IT !
La Rue Restaurant – Shipleywe live in the area and have only been once, it was excellent, were going again tom evening, so fingers crossed it will be as good the second time.
La Rue Restaurant – ShipleyDreadful restaurant.
La Rue Restaurant – ShipleyHad a fantastic evening on 16/10/10. 18 friends had exclusive use of the bistro. everything perfect and very friendly.
Vicars Cafe Bistro – ShipleyWe have dined at the La Rue several times over the past few years and have always enjoyed the food. Nearly every time we have been there, though, they have made a mistake with our bill. Usually it was an extra bottle of wine they tried to charge for but last night took the biscuit. Our party of 4 was presented with a bill for nearly £220 which included 8 starters and 8 main courses. The correct bill was around £110. When we asked, we were told that we had not been given the bill intended for another table - it was just a mistake. I recommend the food at La Rue but check every item on your bill if you decide to eat there.
La Rue Restaurant – ShipleyI have eaten at many well known Indian restaurants and many not so known but nothing comes any where near the quality and amazing eating experience I had at Zaraa's. Everything from the service the atmosphere and the wonderful food was Michelin starred. What more can I say . It's a must
Zaara’s – ShipleyI took my Mum to La Rue as on the few occasions I had been I have to say the service and food was excellent. Unfortunately this time there were a few issues that spoilt what could have been a great meal. We were booked in at 6.30, being the first in we were seated in the most secluded corner,as it was not busy I could not see why we couldn't be seated in a vacant 'window seat'. The starters, pate and terrine were lovely and decent portions. The fish stew again was delicious, the only fault I could pick was the 5 min delay in the veg side dish being brought to our table, with the numerous staff not seeming hurried. That aside we enjoyed the main as much as the starter. However it went downwards when we decided to order a pudding, the trio of strawberries, perhaps they should re think the spoons used to serve as the elderflower jelly was difficult to eat from a tall shot glass with a large desert spoon. The BIG problem was the eton mess - I couldn't quite put my finger on it at first but soon realised there was a garlic taste to the cream, the head waitress took it away and suggested the cream may be off -a little off putting perhaps but she did come back agreeing on the garlic. She suggested that the 'mashing impliment may have been used to crush garlic too. That was fine but we were only offered the dessert not be charged for - we left with a bitter taste in our mouths, more to do with the customer service/relations than the actual quality of food.
La Rue Restaurant – ShipleyCall me old fashioned but I always believed that chicken was a key ingredient in a "chicken" paella. Not at the tapas tree. My 1st dish of paella contained not a single piece of chicken. After complaining and returning it to the kitchen the 2nd one they brought out only had 2 meager 1cm cubes in it. You really should have to send something back a 3rd time. Oh, and I caught the waiter coming out of a cubicle in the gents without washing his hands afterwards. Nice. 2 of our party of 5 had D & V the next day.
