Always a great experience! We go quite regularly. Food can be a tad hit and miss at times but generally very happy. See you again soon!!

The Man At Arms – LutterworthTravelled over to Desford which is 30min drive. So pleased we did. Sat under the Terrace Bar, comfy settee and table, overhead heating. Cocktail menu and the most superb red wine. Great choice of lagers for the lads. Food was delicious. Highly recommended a visit. Definitely going back soon.
The Lancaster Arms – LeicesterPerfect food and drinks. The cod and chips terrace bites were lovely. The chips are the best I’ve had in a long time. Really reasonably priced. Lovely burleighs gins too a great selection. The atmosphere and decor of the gin terrace was beautiful it’s really quite amazing and a prime example of brilliant outdoor decor. We needn’t worry about the cold too because they have the thickest blankets that even when not at a heater table we were perfectly warm. Only minus points was some of the younger servers needed reminding sometimes of things and long waits in between drinks but I suspect new staff who are getting back into the swing of things after covid so it’s understandable Also the cast iron teapots were very stylish but quite heavy. I’ll be back time and time again, I’m sure anyone new visiting will love it too!
The Lancaster Arms – LeicesterWe're regulars at the Man at Arms because the meals are always second to none, the staff are so efficient but so friendly, and the atmosphere is always right ( even in Covid restriction times) Well done to the team.
The Man At Arms – LutterworthVery good as usual.
The Man At Arms – LutterworthGood food, staff pleasant and efficient and hard working. App didn’t work due to poor signal but staff quickly came to the table to take our order.
The Man At Arms – LutterworthLack of welcome from the staff, after lockdown we expected an enthusiastic welcome. no personality from the staff. We were asked to use the app went all through the ordering for it to then not work, very frustrating. Food wasn't great, asked if I could swap peas for a bit of side salad and was told no. Lemonade was flat I asked if it could be changed and I'm pretty sure the staff just put it in another glass, as it still tasted flat but by this point I felt like I was in the wrong as the staff member was that unfriendly. Nobody cleared the table or asked us if our meals were OK. There was a female staff member who spent lots of time chatting to one table of guests (must be friends or regulars) but never approached us and left us sat there with our plates when we'd finished. We won't be returning which is a shame as we are eager to eat out more now we are actually allowed.
The Man At Arms – LutterworthExcellent
The Lancaster Arms – LeicesterFood was absolutely fine however, to turn up with zero instruction which way to enter to the seating area to be then told after a conformation email you have to download an app and use that to order which is fine but I feel you cannot just say that and expect people to know how to use it, hopefully the place will find its feet again in may when things get closer to normal.
The Man At Arms – LutterworthLovely food, and was a real treat being back in a pub! Service was very slow to start with, took almost an hour to receive our first drink, but understandable being the first weekend open and it being very busy! Overall would definitely do back!
The Lancaster Arms – LeicesterCame on Tuesday 3rd November as always friendly welcome . Service was table only but we wasn't waiting at all even though they were busy . Food excellent as always . See you in December.
The Old Red Lion – Market HarboroughFood was excellent - tastiest steak ever! However, the staff need a shake up! We were subjected to rudeness because we couldn't order via the app (no signal on our phone and wifi useless!). Then we were charged over £7 more than we should have been and was told a couple of lies rather than accept it was wrong (one that we can't have the steak and wine deal when we are ordering kids meals (paid full price for kids meals from kids menu?!!!) and when queried, was treated like an idiot! Great food, great place, need new serving staff!
The Man At Arms – LutterworthEnjoyable evening, we had 2 tables next to each other because of Covid restrictions, but it worked well. Carl working hard and attentive as always! We enjoyed the meal, and hope that it won't be too long before we visit again. We're booked in for a festive meal, keeping our fingers crossed.
The Cedars – LeicesterHad lunch at the Cedars , hadn't been in a while was very pleased. Lockdown restrictions adhered to. Fish & chips were lovely . We left 2 clean plates. Thank you.
The Cedars – LeicesterWe went on a Sunday & expected to see Sunday lunch on the menu but no. The portions were a good size but my mum's lamb chops were overcooked & dry. The tables were way to close to each other so we asked to be moved, that took them 10 mins to decide where too. On the desserts board spotted dick was advertised, I asked if it was proper with suet but no, it was in fact a sultana sponge!! So we won't be returning.
The Man At Arms – LutterworthThe meal was as fantastic as ever, thank you. I understand that these are different times but the young lad working there was so rude. At 9.30pm told my guest they cant have a coffee as they had switched the machine off and spoken in an aggressive tone of voice. Then announced 5 mins later that the doors were being locked in 10 mins like someone from the army. Really rude. If the food wasn't so good I wouldn't be going back.
The Man At Arms – LutterworthExcellent service with a smile can not fault the team amazing hot food .
The Cedars – LeicesterEasy to book - no deposit required. Welcoming staff, clean clean tables and chairs, not too busy when I visited, prompt and courteous service, hot food served with a smile (hidden by a mask), on hot plates, of very good portions and absolutely delicious . And at a price that makes you wonder quite how they do it. I had lunch of stunning liver, bacon and onions with mash and peas - and didn't eat again until breakfast the following day. Satisfying desserts available at just £1 - and ALL calorie free (that's what Carol told me anyway!). What's not to like? What possible reason could there be not to revisit - or indeed drive a ten mile round trip to collect a takeaway if those become available over the coming weeks? Scores 11/10
