The Old Red Lion – Market HarboroughWith everything that is going on with covid the staff where amazing and the food was worth the money we didn't have to wait long for food
The Cedars – LeicesterThe food was good except one of the steaks was well over done and when this was mentioned to the waitress the response of "what can i do about it?" Wasn't exactly brilliant. Other than that it was good
The Man At Arms – LutterworthLooking at the latest reviews, I think maybe me and my partner just caught them on a bad day? We used to dine here over 10 years ago and the food went down hill as the prices went up so we stopped. We were told by a friend that this place was great again so we thought we’d give it a go. Staff were lovely, there was a bit of an issue with wasps this particular day but the manager saw the funny side of my irrational fear and let me change tables 3 times to get away. I ordered chicken and rib combo and the other half got the Mighty Man mixed grill. As soon as my meal was placed on the table I instantly saw the breast had been cooked to within an inch of its life and was like a rock. I ‘sawed’ into it but couldn’t eat it. The Pork belly bites were like rubber bullets (although a couple were fine). I have to say though, the ribs were DELICIOUS and the meat fell off the bone. I basically ate the ribs and 4 pork belly bites and left the rest (the chips weren’t great either so I didn’t eat them. My other half’s mixed grill wasn't great either. The onion rings were soggy, the liver was like show leather and the steak was chewy. My other half said the lamb chop was ok but the sausage had a ‘sour’ taste. The glasses were really dirty well, I say dirty I think they just weren’t rinsed properly as they were streaky and ‘milky’ looking (usually lime scale does this - I worked for a glass washing company so I’m a bit of a nerd with such things lol). The decor needs an update, the same chairs are still in use from when we were last there many years ago and it shows as the padding is worn and uncomfortable. I spoke to the manager on the way out and told him our food was on the table if he wanted to have a look. He explained it was the Chefs last day and perhaps he was a bit slap dash.. I definitely would not have let that chicken leave the kitchen. He offered us a drink or dessert but we declined his offer and reiterated to him how lovely they (him and the staff) were and how delicious the ribs were. I think the place just needs a bit of TLC I don’t think we’ll go back again, well not while the wasps have taken up residence anyway lol Lovely staff, poor food... sorry
The Old Red Lion – Market HarboroughHad a 32oz T bone steak. Cooked very well, pink in the middle, thick and tasty. Chips were lovely too. Quite a simple meal - just as I wanted it. Have eaten here numerous times, always fantastic.
The Man At Arms – LutterworthWe walked in the front door and out via the back door, hand gel on arrival. Check in was fine and food was ordered by app. Service was really prompt and all 4 of us were happy with our food. I had the 24oz rump which was superbly cooked to med/rare and was so tender. Family had another 12oz rump, burger and a chicken fajitas ( wow) - all in all we had a lovely night and a great meal. Thank you!
The Man At Arms – LutterworthOn arrival we were 2nd in the queue, the people in front us had not booked. The member of staff who was assisting them spent a good 10 minites on the computer looking for a table for them. Having found them a table the member of staff proceeds to the bar to take their order. Leaving the rest of the queue standing, some outside in the rain. Apart from an over cooked pork chop on my superman mixed grill everything else was good. (staff very friendly)
The Man At Arms – LutterworthThe Man at Arms is my go to option if we want great food. The meat is ALWAYS superb quality and cooked to perfection, the staff are polite and attentive without being in your face every five minutes, personally I reckoned the king Henry 24ox steak or the megaman mixed grill but do not cone over without your appetite. The ordering app is brilliant and simple to use. Team are trying hard to work with covid restrictions and doing a great job.
The Man At Arms – LutterworthCovid rules not being applied. 3 doors all in and out. No one way system. No social distancing. No member of staff wearing a mask\face covering. Had to go to bar to order food and drinks. App made too complicated so not being used by anyone while we were there. Staff wandering between tables. Staff leaning across customers at their table. Only saw 1 hand gel at 1 door.
The Man At Arms – LutterworthLovely atmosphere good food and very good for menu wise .
The Cedars – LeicesterLovely meal , great rapid service , staff were polite , friendly and helpful. Social distancing measures in place and really good. I was especially impressed to notice the waiter used the hand gel every time he went in and out the door whilst serving people.
The Old Red Lion – Market HarboroughOn a recent visit we were greeted by a young man who was very polite and welcoming. He showed us to a table. We were in a newly constructed building which was like a large conservatory which was very light and partly open on only one side. This meant that we had protection from rain and with sanitizers available and enough fresh air it madean ideal room for Covid 19 conditions. With heaters available on the walls this room should be comfortable in all but blizzard weathers. My friend and I both chose fish and chips. My friend chose a jumbo size and I had a more modest but quite adequate size. We had mushy peas and finished off with Ice cream. This lunch was part of Dishy Rishi's Eat out deals
The Lancaster Arms – LeicesterVery limited menu, I enjoyed my meal. partner and dad had steak and the sauce was very runny. not sure would be back to eat at full price but had a lovely afternoon.
The Lancaster Arms – LeicesterLovely new outdoor seating area which looks really pretty as it is getting dark with the lights twinkling! Lovely food, great service and even better value with the eat out to help out scheme. We shall be returning.
The Lancaster Arms – LeicesterHad to wait 40 minutes to be seated at our table, even though we had booked. Service was great as was my fillet steak! My husbands 24oz T-bone steak was served raw at first, so was sent back to get a medium cook. When it was returned it was overcooked and tough. The mushrooms had a big ball of what looked like compost in amongst them. Made a complaint and were given an apology. Were not offered any discount and we paid the bill in full. Would not go back!
The Man At Arms – LutterworthAlways good value, and a wide array of menu choice. Staff were helpful and polite as usual.
The Man At Arms – LutterworthWhat can I say brilliant meal great value for money the steaks just perfect certainly will be back
The Old Red Lion – Market HarboroughPub COVID safe food was lovely and great value. Only complaint would be 1hour wait for food even though I booked
