I visited the restaurant in May this year with friends, the food was lovely the staff were very friendly, and the service was excellent. I will definitely return.
Ego Mediterranean Restaurant – Liverpool City CentreSituated in the Albert Dock, it looks like a traditional French restaurant from the outside. My wife and I after a day shopping in Liverpool One were hungry and wanted to try something different. We liked the look of the place and decided to order some food for lunch. When we entered, it was busy. We managed to find a table and took a seat. Our waitress like most serving there were Eastern European, all looked like they were there doing the job to earn a living. My girlfriend ordered a chicken baguette whilst I ordered fish and chips. The food arrived after 25 mins, the baguette looked like it came from a frozen packet and nothing like a freshly made French baguette that we expected. I had a taste of my girlfriend's chicken baguette, the chicken was dry and tasteless. My fish looked as if it came our of a cheap range supermarket packet and dumped in a deep fry like my chips. It was full of grease and not like a beer battered fish that you'd hope for being in a port like Liverpool. I couldn't help noticing that the waitresses and the chef, who was a right scally from Liverpool, went about their work with no passion or enthusiasm for the food or the job. None of the staff had a smile and never bothered to ask how the food was. The Asian chap at the till who looked like the owner or the manager never asked either how the food was either, he was too busy taking my money and getting me out as fast as he could to serve other customers. The food is overpriced, is of bad quality, the seating most uncomfortable, and the restaurant feels more like a cafe. The toilets are a joke, very smelly and dirty! There are much better eating places to eat a few doors away. My advice is if you want food do yourself a favour and go somewhere else and definitely don't take your partner here. This place is rubbish!
La Crepe Rit – Liverpool City CentreSince my last review I sent in 2006, Mei Mei is still my favourite eating place. Good service and warm, friendly staff. Food always excellent.
Mei Mei – Liverpool City CentreJust Went For a Meal With My Family And I Really Enjoyed The Food, Atmosphere And Overall Service. I Have Been To Casa Italia Many Times Before, And Hopefully Many Times To Come!
Casa Italia – Liverpool City CentreWOW, THE FOOD IS FAB from here, check it out this is the nicest food i have ever had, super tasty and you just want more and more .
Raggas Caribbean Cafe & Takeaway – Liverpool City CentreA Liverpool legend. I have been going to Ma Bo for over 35 years. I have recently started returning on business and can therefore charge any siz e of bill. However, its the best alternative to being at home and i walk past many expensive restaurants to get there. I thus charge my expenses about £15 a time. If you eat once in Liverpool make it Ma Bo. From the wonderful duck prepared at the front to the cracking noodles it is all good. Cheaper than a trip to China!
Ma Bo Restaurant – Liverpool City CentreI used to eat at The Shipping Forecast about once every month, and was always very satisfied. However, I visited last week and was extremely disappointed with the standard of the food. I ordered a chicken, bacon and avocado burger with twice cooked Maris Piper chips. The burger was fine, apart from the sliver of avocado. I was very disappointed, however, that instead of twice cooked Maris Piper chips I was served greasy, floppy chips that left the paper underneath almost completely transparent. Some of the chips were almost raw. My friend ordered the fish and chips, which was also very greasy. We shared a side order of onion rings, which would be best described on the menu as just 'rings' as they were mainly chunks of greasy batter, with hardly any onion at all. It's a shame that the standard of food has slipped, as the service and atmosphere cannot be faulted in The Shipping Forecast, and if you're not eating it is a lovely place to have a drink. There is a wide selection of ales, ciders and beers at reasonable prices, and all the staff are very friendly. The atmosphere is lovely and very relaxed. I will definitely be returning, but not to eat.
The Shipping Forecast – Liverpool City CentreMe and my family love this place we have been going here for 25 years it still the same as it was way back then lovely never ever changed and still some off the same staff I close family run we get it evey week I just phone up and say can I order and they say hello jo that's how long we been eatting here we even get christmas cards enjoy urself and eat here or get take away
Uni Restaurant – Liverpool City CentreLast time I set foot in Church House it was still operating as the Church HQ and as a regular meeting place for seminars and routine social work or health work related conferences etc - that was in "Fish n Chips" days(google it)*. Having been away from Liverpool for a few years now I had no idea it had been converted into Bistro Franc's. This time we were en route to see the Katona Twins at Great George's Hall (missing the England v Ukraine match in the process), got to the Bistro late and had to leave early before having our desserts. On the way back after the concert we couldn't get the thought of those exquisite desserts out of our minds and so went back and asked if we could finish our meal by having dessert. The place was empty and not far off closing but the staff immediately led us to a table and served desserts plus a complimentary coffee. We're both Francophiles but we've never eaten French food that good anywhere in France or anywhere else for that matter. Makes you proud to be a scouser. Paul & Liz
Bistro Franc – Liverpool City CentreWent here for my mum's 65th birthday on Friday 15th June. We had the deal which includes a 3 course meal, a drink and a £10 bet for £21- absolute bargain! The menu was limited but the food didn't disappoint. Really well presented and very good quality food. Clean plates all round! We then had a lesson in how to play blackjack (part of the package) and we then had a little flutter in the casino and a few drinks in the bar area. Also there's a lovely bar upstairs Which had only just opened so was quiet on our visit but I'm sure it will fill up once word spreads. Would definately recommend this package to anyone looking for something different from just a meal for a night out. The staff couldn't do enough for us, the restaurant and bar are decorated out really well, great food and a few of our group also won on the roulette!
Fahrenheit Bar & Grill – Liverpool City Centrefirst class, beautiful food excellent staff, will be using again
Salt House Tapas – Liverpool City CentreGorgeous! Great food, good service, lovely restaurant. Been lots of times and always lovely!
Savina – Liverpool City CentreVisited Mayur last night on a Living Social deal. The service was superb, and as we were relatively unfamiliar with Indian food the staff went out of their way to be helpful and informative. The Kesari Jheenga tiger prawn starter was really tasty, & for main course I had Lamb rogan josh, my wife had Saag Gosht. We enjoyed it so much we added sweets and coffee and brandies. Nice touch, the brandies were served on heater flames. Will definitely visit again.
Mayur – Liverpool City CentreIf you enjoy Persian food and have not yet experienced this hidden gem then you’re seriously missing out. I give the Azagros, London Road, Liverpool a 5 star award. The restaurant is simple yet tastefully elegant in its decor and the food, staff and level of service were absolutely excellent. I visited with family (party of six) on 24th May 2012 and ordered a selection of starters and main courses which were all delicious...... unfortunately we were all too full to try my favourite dessert of Baklava ;-( next time without doubt. I would highly recommend the Bakhtiari a main barbecued dish of (one skewer of lamb fillet or marinated chicken with one skewer of minced lamb with red peppers, onions and grilled tomato all served on a bed of saffron basmati rice or chips) is a must have...... the meat was very succulent and very tender! Other dishes to consider would be the Mirza Ghasemi a starter of (smoked aubergines, garlic, egg and tomato served with naan. And the Ghorma Sabzi a main dish consisting of (parsley, leek, herbs, kidney beans, lamb meat and dried lime served with basmati rice. The Azagros has now been added to my list of favourite restaurants and I’d recommend anybody with a love of Persian food to seriously check this place out!
Azagros Restaurant – Liverpool City Centrewent on the 26th April 2012, loved it, great night, great service, nice food and lovely place
Blundell Street Supper Club – Liverpool City CentreJust ordered chicken biryani and garlic naan bread £7.80. Lots of bland rice, 6 small pieces of chicken, curry sauce ok-ish and naan bread had occasional flecks of tasteless "garlic" but no garlic flavour. Wouldn't recommend and wouldn't order again.
Mumbai Indian Takeaway – Liverpool City CentreI love this restaurant. We have been many times and the food is always gorgeous. Nice atmosphere and friendly service. Recommended! There is a nice pub nearby also called The Monro.
Savina – Liverpool City CentreGreat place, authentic food - some of the dishes on offer you will literally only see on offer in Sri Lanka!! Lamb curry devine and excellent value for money too! This is a hidden gem in Liverpool and as lots of Sri Lankan recipes are tomato based rather than ghee/butter based they are better for you too!! LOVE THIS PLACE!
