Piccolino – Liverpool City CentreWe ate here last week whilst on a three day break in Liverpool. It was one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten in. The food was superb as was the service - just loved the slowly bakes mushrooms with Roquefort. Can't wait to go back.
Bistro Franc – Liverpool City CentreThis restaurant is fab!!! Some friends and i recently visited Cafe Porto for the evening tapas menu. The food was freshly cooked and delicious. It is very reasonably priced too and we took our own wine. There aren't many places where you can get a mountain of delicious food and wine in lovely surroundings for less than £20 a head! Although it is BYO, they do have Portuguese wines on the wine list, which are priced between £15-25 ish. We opted to take our own Portuguese wine and the guy that runs it brought a taster glass of their house wine to see how the wines contrasted and told us a little bit about the different wine growing areas of Portugal. The people who worked there were really friendly and made us feel very welcome. I really recommend Cafe Porto - its a hidden gem!
Cafe Porto – Liverpool City CentreExcellent food and great service. Lovely restaurant in a great location.
Gusto – Liverpool City CentreMy family and I visited Il Forno yesterday to celebrate my mums birthday. Everything about the experience was perfect. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Il Forno – Liverpool City CentreWe visited Liverpool recently and have to say how impressed we were with Chaophraya Thai Restaurant in the Liverpool ONE park. The staff were lovely and really helped us with our choice of food. The decor is amazing and I am would definitely recommend the food which was delicious. We had drinks afterwards in the equally stunning Palm Sugar Lounge. This is the best place is Liverpool. We also spotted Joe Cole which was fantastic.
Chaophraya – Liverpool City CentreLiverpool's best kept secret. Stay away from the chain restaurants at Liverpool One and get yourself down to Deli Fonseca! Brilliant blackboard menu that changes depending on what they have in. Great selection of local bottled beers. Fantastic!
Delifonseca – Liverpool City CentreQuite simply the best. For what you are paying you receive excellent food with superb service and a lovely atmosphere. We have eaten here a number of times as a couple, with our children and with extended parties at all times of the day and night and have never had a bad experience. The only thing that makes Franc pip Pierre is that with the kids the stairs are a no-go! Would not hesitate in recommending the place to virtually anyone.
Bistro Franc – Liverpool City CentreStopped here one Saturday afternoon after it was recommended by a friend and on this website. To say we where not disappointed is an understatement. We just went off the set menu at £9.99 a head for two courses and the food was exceptional for what we paid. Not only that but the service was excellent and the atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable. I would recommend this to virtually anyone who enjoys good food in a nice setting. Its position for most of the city is good too. We ate at one of the more 'exclusive' restaurants in Liverpool the weekend before at a much higher price and this beat it. Hands down. You will not be disappointed.
The Monro – Liverpool City CentreAn awful experience, bad food and rude staff. An antipasto platter that consisted of cheap ham, canned tuna and celery sticks, just awful. Chicken pasta that tasted of absolutely nothing. Staff that roll their eyes and grumble about drinks orders and do their best to ignore customers. I would not recommend this place to someone I hated, truly terrible.
Casa Italia – Liverpool City CentreAbsolutely fantastic Bistro - ambience (just right), friendly and helpful staff, tasty food - right in the heart of the city and just off Mathew St - couldn't have been bettered. We all loved it and will be back soon. We had a hugely enjoyable evening there - don't change a thing!
Bistro Pierre – Liverpool City Centreaverage food ......teapot not refilled.............interesting decor looking at signs insisting on payment in advance at certain times and stating minimum charge if you sit down after certain times.....wont be back
Wongs Restaurant – Liverpool City CentreCame upon the restaurant by chance as we went to visit the Philharmonic pub (In my husbands Camra guide). We were in Liverpool to 'do' the Beatles tour etc. It was a Tuesday so we booked for the evenings wine and dine, two courses and a bottle of wine each. We were very impressed with the service and the food was to die for. We went back for lunch on the Wednesday yet another 'historic' meal (Michael Winner needs to try it out ! ) Will definitely come again and recommend to all.
Bistro Jacques – Liverpool City CentreEven though I live in Warrington now, still my favorite in Liverpool, Good staff, splendid food, lovely atmosphere, affordable prices and bang in the middle of town. 5 stars from me.
Villa Romana – Liverpool City CentreThis is an outstanding restaurant! the staff are delightful, they will go out of their way to help you in any way they can! the food is priced to an ideal yet affordable budget! never once have i been and I haven't enjoyed the food!! I go quite often.
Casa Italia – Liverpool City Centrewe planned a special meal at the Panoramic and really researched the Liverpool restaurants before taking the plunge. We know the eating establishments in the city well and Panoramic would have the generous good quality of 60 Hope Street but in a great setting. I ordered a cooked fois gras starter. It was fridge cold at the bottom. The portions are all very small.I broke into a bread roll only to find a hair had been baked into it horror of horrors. I discreetly told the pompous french maitre d' who arrogantly retorted "well, its not one of my hairs"!! He left the roll on the table and half an hour later returned and asked me if I was eating it or not. No apology, no gesture of grace from the restaurant. If you are looking for somewhere special for a plush meal please don't patronise this establishment. The food cannot compare to the consistently good 60 Hope Street or Fraiche in Oxton or even the Bar and Grill on Brunswick Street. It is such a shame that restaurants like Panoramic are rewarded with custom simply on the basis of what you see out of its windows. This is my first restaurant review.I am not in the habit of reporting every poor meal but I am appalled at the idea of any other poor souls spending their hard earned cash and precious time in a restaurant as unworthy and uninterested in the quality of their service and food, as this one.
