OSQA – Liverpool City CentreThe food was outstanding, Duck was beautiful!!! staff were efficient and friendly, great restaurant all round.
OSQA – Liverpool City Centrevery pleasant service-food lovely and well presented, didn't know this restaurant existed and it's beautiful will recommend this to many others!
OSQA – Liverpool City CentreThe service the staff the food the atmosphere in fact everything brilliant, we will be back
OSQA – Liverpool City CentreWe enjoyed the food also the entertainment and the lovely surroundings with excellent service - No complaints at all
OSQA – Liverpool City CentreService excellent, food and wine also excellent, lovely decor
OSQA – Liverpool City CentreOverall the quality of the food was good but the service didn't match. They got our drinks order wrong and our food order and their attitude vaguely implied that it was us who had made the error. Our bill was also wrong! At which point we'd given up. We had to ask for drinks as we were left without any and ask about puddings as no one bothered once our mains had been cleared. This clearly hasn't happened to other reviewers so maybe it was an 'off' night! Not sure I'd go back though.
The Monro – Liverpool City CentreI have been to Bistro Jacques on many occasions and I can 100% say that this is my favourite restaurant in Liverpool. The food is fantastic, full of flavour, plenty of it and very warming. Atmosphere, well having lived in Paris I can say it does give that Parisian Bistro feel. The service is excellent, staff are fabulous and the chef's are worth their weight in gold. To top it all off I am always amazed on how small the bill is at the end of meal! I was recommended this restaurant and I have in turn recommended this restaurant to my friends and people I know. I'm also pleased to have been able to recommend a restaurant that has now also turned out to be one of their favourites too. One piece of advice though...book in advance as this restaurant is very popular!
Bistro Jacques – Liverpool City CentreMe and 4 friends attended Las iguanas 01/11/08. We are local and were looking forward to the new restaurants in Liverpool one. However it was a shambles! The food we ordered arrived an hour later, it then came separately and two were cold. The food was not up to standard in comparison to the price you paid. There was an apology of the waiter but no manager to be seen! There was also arguing amongst the staff next to our table.
Las Iguanas – Liverpool City CentreFood was lovely, service was a let down. Had to pour our own wine and leave the table to request more drinks as the waiters were not present. Also, for a brand new restaurant, I felt the facilities were a let down - only one ladies toilet in the whole place, which meant there was always a long queue of people through the bar area. Views are amazing, would rate food as 8/10 but I wouldn't return as it did not live up to the high expectations I had.

Panoramic 34 – Liverpool City CentreA word of caution !! My girlfriend and I visited the Mayflower on Wednesday 22nd October 2008.We have visited there many times before, because they have a special menu for £10 pp. till 10 pm. It even has it on the window outside. We arrived at 8.30 and the restaurant was busy, but we where shown a table for two right away. We where given menu's but then asked to see the special as normal , to which we where told that they where not serving it because they where so busy. Well if you advertise it, in my book you should serve it , and just cos you got a rush on , doesn't mean you can turn it on and off when you want to profiteer..!! We got up and walked out.We wont return. You have lost out regular custom !!!!
Mayflower – Liverpool City CentreVisited 22nd October. Excellent choice of food.Good standard. Will be back !!!
Yums Oriental Buffet – Liverpool City CentreWent to this restaurant last Saturday on two friends recommendation. Nice atmosphere, very friendly staff and lovely food. Excellent specials board with unusual options that all sounded great - and they all were! Can't wait for our next visit. Prices comparable to any other restaurant in city centre. Also had to buy from the deli - everything yummy!
Delifonseca – Liverpool City CentreWhilst attending an exhibition in Liverpool myself and a colleague visited Puska following a recommendation. The food was outstanding, beautifully thought out, cooked and prepared to perfection (My chicken liver and date starter was an outstanding piece of cooking, and my duck and marinated fig main was gamey and delicious). The food was only surpassed by the fantastic welcome that we received from the restaurant team and their friends that were dining on the table next to us. I haven't stopped recommending it to other people at the exhibition. Thanks Guy's, an absolutely great night out.
Puschka – Liverpool City CentreMy husband and I decided to try this restaurant as we knew the view was supposed to be fabulous. In this respect it did not disappoint and the restaurant certainly had the wow factor. We went early evening to watch the sunset and the lights come on across the city. We enjoyed a drink in the bar first although had to ask to be served after a long wait even though a lady had shown us to a seat. The food was very good in the main with a few misses. I found it difficult to eat my main which was in a large dish with a knife and fork. My side order of butter beans had the consistency of bullets, however my husband's mashed potato was lovely. The house wines were very good, well kept and served correctly. The chocolate mousse dessert was bizarre in that it had no sweetness whatsoever and was unpleasant. The manager had the decency to come over and was very helpful and receptive to our hopefully constructive criticism. There was no issue in removing the mentioned 2 items from the bill. It was an expensive meal but it felt special in terms of a dining experience. One small gripe - we had to ask for tap water as the bottled stuff was being pressed upon us.

Panoramic 34 – Liverpool City CentreJust back from the Panoramic after a celebratory meal. Felt I had to give a fair an honest account of this newcomer to the Merseyside food scene. Of course the views and aesthetics of this 34th floor restaurant are unchallenged in the city, however the overly attentive and sometimes arrogant staff do nothing to disguise the surprising blandness of the food we dined on. The overly sized sizes cool plates (temperature not design) couldn't hide the fact that two of the three steaks we ordered came as Blue rather than medium. However the scallops for starters were cooked to perfection, but on cold plates doesn't do them justice. Of course overall a great evening, and you cannot not admire the awesome views across the Mersey towards the Wirral and inwards towards the city. A little more attention is required on the basics, and combination of flavours to justify the prices they charge. Hard and fast locals such as the SideDoor wipe the floor in terms of taste and passion, for a fraction of the price, and the Panoramic isn't a patch on the Carriage Works for overall dining indulgence. Fully recommend this Beetham tower novice to the scene, but for passionate fooders, don't have to high an expectation, as you will be disappointed. ratings : atmosphere : 10/10 service : 7/10 food : 6/10 value for money : 5/10 overall : 7/10 : A must go to restaurant with great views of the city, but the 3 month waiting list does not justify the quality or taste of food. Must try Heathcotes, CarriageWorks and SideDoor for better dining.
