Clockworks – Liverpool City CentreTravelling up from Essex, my girlfriend and I wanted to find a pub showing the Euros final. We booked with Ma Egerton’s who took a deposit and almost instantly paid this back to us upon arrival. The staff were lovely and accommodating, the atmosphere was great - small but mighty - and the food was exceptional. As I said, the staff were great and they even went round with a tray of free shots halfway through the game. Wasn’t the result we wanted on the night but it was definitely a brilliant experience there, and we would definitely return if we make our way back to Liverpool in the future
Ma Egerton’s Stage Door – Liverpool City CentreWe had such a lovely afternoon here to celebrate my husband's birthday. We are a family of 8 so not always easy to please everyone! The food was gorgeous and the staff so lovely. They made it a special time for all of us from the youngest to the oldest, we loved it.
Amalia Italian Restaurant – Liverpool City CentreAfter a friend and an acquaintance both recommended Amalia Italian Restaurant, and upon seeing they do calzone (a favourite if done well!), I had to try. The mistake I made was ordering a starter (the veggie platter starter was very nice), because the calzone was colossal and very tasty. Quality of food was solid, which is a “good” in my book. Service was ok too, especially as a lot was going on outdoors with the football. Staff were all friendly and the management staff were hands on and engaging, which is always a tell of a well run location. I can’t say much about desserts, salads or pasta as I didn’t try them and ate alone. I was positively surprised at the quality of the pizza and the starter was nicely presented and veggies roasted and flavourful. The fact they also had alcohol-free Peroni was a welcome surprise. The only oddity was that there wasn’t artichoke on the menu, which for an italian pizza restaurant is unusual, but maybe nobody wants artichoke in Liverpool? Unless I’m mistaken there were no plant-based or gluten-free options with the menu only indicating vegetarian dishes. The calzone I opted for was requested meat-free and arrived successfully. Overall a reasonably varied menu with a distinct lean to meatier options and not so many veg combinations (unfortunately), but good service and supportive staff. Next time I’ll go with a friend and try the risotto. Prices fair for the quality of food, level of service and cleanliness of facilities. Definitely recommendable. *on the point of atmosphere it’s difficult to comment as the focus was on the football match, so can’t comment on the “usual” atmosphere; what did stand out was the friendly welcoming of staff and their cordiality
Amalia Italian Restaurant – Liverpool City CentreFantastic value for top food and service, will book again many times and take friends, a fraction of the price of Liverpool One restaurants.
Amalia Italian Restaurant – Liverpool City CentrePerfect Greek meal. Shared the Meze with my husband, every dish cooked to perfection. The staff were amazing and so helpful and to top it off Baklava to die included. Will definitely visiting again on my next trip to Liverpool
Opa Opa – Liverpool City CentreOften go to Amalia. Love the atmosphere; comfortable, chatty and lively without being loud. Service was perfect as always. Food was lovely. Such good value for money. The only minor fault was that I didn't really like the house white wine, I'll know for next time to chose something else. Other than that it's pretty much perfect.
Amalia Italian Restaurant – Liverpool City CentreBeing on holiday in Liverpool I found this amazing little Italian at the last minute when looking for something to eat. This Italian was vibrant & without doubt the best I have have ever visited & I will be definitely booking when I come back to Liverpool. The food was amazing & full of flavour & every mouthful was food heaven. I can’t praise the standard of the food highly enough. The staff were so attentive & could not have done more to make our experience any better. All in all this was an amazing find with quality food & I look forward to visiting again.
