Tik Taco – SouthportWe were in Liverpool for a concert at the Philharmonic Hall and the restaurant is about 50 m away. Smart but informal ambience. Very friendly and attentive staff. Wide choice of menu items - we had mixed souvlaki and lamb chops. Veggie options available. Really good. Huge portions. Complimentary brownie with whipped cream was a nice surprise. Finally, really good value for money. Would strongly recommend this place.

Master McGraths – SouthportIn my 40 years of going to bars and clubs, I have never come across an attitude like the lank haired barmaid who was working on Saturday night (9th November 24). She was pig ignorant, short tempered, snappy, rude and arrogant. It was hard not to bite back, but I did politely asked her to chill out and calm down. She then glared and mumbled something under her breath about “not having to serve me”. Luckily for her, I didn’t hear it at the time, but my friend informed me of the remark after we’d left the premises. The girl oozes a lack of respect for customers (and her fellow bar staff) and should not be working in the service industry. We all have things going on in our lives, but we paint on a smile and treat people with courtesy. Another member of our party also had an issue with her over a glass of soda water. We actually spent quite a bit of money that night. Food, four bottles of wine, soft drinks, etc; but there’s no way we’d be back.
Ma Egerton’s Stage Door – Liverpool City CentreStopped in for food and drink before seeing John Bishop at the Empire. It really is a great location for this. Able to prebook our table for 6. The food came out hot, fast and delicious! It’s a small menu, but I think that allows them to keep the quality great. The Scouse was a delicious and slightly pepped up version of what mum used to make. The pizzas were obviously hand made and just right. Drinks were reasonable. (Probably much more reasonable than the Empire!) If you want a lively pub atmosphere, with spot on food, this is the place! Staff were friendly and helpful too - even when the drink got spilled…
