Grove House Hotel & Oak Tree Restaurant – WallaseyHad a meal with a large group of friends over Christmas and it was fantastic. It's BYO and they didn't charge corkage, even though they were happy to provide glasses and bottle openers. Visited on a Sunday night and there were only a few other diners when we went, but it's in a great spot and is pleasant enough inside for a bistro/cafe type place. Main positive is the huge portions and quality of the food - meat and veg all fresh and tasty. Typical middle eastern grill type of food but classy yet no-nonsense. Think there were about fifteen or sixteen of us, most had three huge courses we couldn't finish and the odd soft drink, and the bill was just over £200 - just shows how good BYO can be! A real gem and I hope it keeps going.
Shiraz – Liverpool City CentreMe and my girlfriend ate at this restaurant boxing night, it was gorgeous the booths are brilliant.Definitely eat there again......
Uni Restaurant – Liverpool City CentreNew Years eve. Booked table for three , three weeks ago to make sure we got in ok. Got there on time and stood up in reception area near bar for 20 mins in a crowd of people, some of whom had been waiting three quarters of an hour without so much as a drink. Tried to speak to waiter numerous times who did his best to ignore me.Averted his eyes at all times and mumbled something about waiting for tables to empty before taking another takeaway order. Walked out. What a way to treat customers. No apology , no drink, no meal. will never go again.
Crown of India – Prescotmy husband and l had his works Christmas party here and although they were short staffed they really made our party a night to remember hope his boss books their this year again even the entertainment was top and the food was brilliant.xxx

Rueters – SouthportWent to kozis last night food was amazing and so was the service by Jay.
Kozi – PrescotImproving
Ring O Bells – West KirbyI went in and have ended up booking my birthday there I loved it the food wasn't pricey but the seesha does add up but we got a free one as the owners were lovely and gave us a free one! the food is great and tasty full of flavour. the managers were so friendly and had a very friendly informal approach talking to everyone. you can buy everything you see in there its amazing i would tell anyone to go.
Kasbah Cafe & Bazaar – Liverpool City CentreWent for first time NY eve, It was early on, Say about five oclock, Asked to be early because they where busy later! Ordered quickly, Starter of Prawn Cocktail took about 25 mins to arrive, Served on a plate, Plenty of Prawns, Poor chopped salad on one side, Contained Cucumber, That i hate, But all chopped up so could not remove it! And a little drizzle of sauce! Main course of what was really fish and chips, That where the frozen kind! With the same Salad as with the Prawn cocktail! At of a cost of about 16 pounds, Friend tried the Lasagna, That was bitter and dry, We waited 40 mins for that! All in all pretty poor food! Staff where nice! Wont be going a second time!
Nicola’s Ristorante – WaterlooMe and my friends visited here at the weekend. food was fantastic service was great. Will definitely be returning. Would highly recommend.
Lefteris Greek Taverna – Mossley HillA lovely experience, run by Selam who cooks everything fresh and all very ethnic; simple, good food that is different from anything else you'll have had before. Food all served on Njeera (sour dough pancakes) and eaten by hand; a lovely peaceful coffee ritual and Selam a lovely warm welcoming woman; inexpensive too
Selam Cafe – WavertreeVisited on Tuesday 3rd jan 2012 and i have to say we were pleasantly surprised not only was the food delish but the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, We had such a lovely evening at your restaurant and will be visiting again, garlic mushrooms, kleftiko, and chicken ouzo all yum! Thankyou to all your staff for a delightful evening :-) x
Greek Taverna – WaterlooMy (very new) husband and I decided that we wanted to do something small and intimate for our special day... just our closest friends and family, no big do with discos or children's entertainers. We looked at a few places to go for our quiet meal, and Rueters on Hoghton looked the nicest, and once we had sampled the food, we were sure that this was the place we wanted. The day was absolutely perfect, with owners that couldn't do enough to make the day as special as we wanted. The food was beyond amazing and the staff were fab, making sure that everyone had drinks and a good time. They even made extra effort with my 86yr old Nan who is unfortunately wheelchair bound and was unable to transfer to a regular chair, and our pesky 2 year old, making her a child's meal and making sure she was able to be seated with us at the head table!!I would recommend this restaurant to absolutely anyone and everyone, I know hubby and I will certainly be back for regular visits!!
Rueters – SouthportA great change from the 'pseudo' Indian food generally available. Having visited Kerala on a number of occasions the food here is, of course very authentic and flavoursome. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. I used to live a short walk from their original location, now a little bit further away but still worth the trip!!
Kerala Kitchen – BirkenheadWe visited Zyka a couple of years ago whilst passing through Formby and decided to go New Years Eve, the food was really nice, a set menu for the holiday but our waiter stated if there was nothing on the set menu we could choose from the normal menu, the staff were very friendly and accomodating and it was a great evening, cant wait to go back.
Zyka – Formbyalways very good service at this restaurant anytime midweek week-ends food is cooked fresh anything from their menu is cooked especially for you, waiters are very friendly and add to the atmosphere of this charming restaurant, I cannot praise the food and how it is cooked and served enough you must try it, I highly recommend this restaurant.
Mamma Mia Pizzeria – SouthportI have visited the Crown of India twice now, once on a Saturday in November and also on new years eve. I will start with the good point- the food is very nice. The service however is dreadful. the first time i thought it was a one off which is why is returned, the second time was even worse. Booked a table for 7.30 and arrived on time, wasn't seated until 8.10pm and was not offered a drink whilst i waited or a menu to read. we had to ask several time if we could order and finally our order was taken at 9pm. We didn't get plates with the poppadoms or cutlery with the starters (that arrived at 9.30). Our main meals came out at apx 10pm and the 4 year old that was with us was very tired and hungry by this point. Constantly asking to order drinks, that then fail to arrive. charged for 6 rounds of drinks when only had 4 rounds, would not refund for the two rounds of drinks. not one apology for the fact that we had waited so long for everything. will never return or recommend.
