Wonderful place ... the fish & chips in Liverpool
Lobster Pot – Liverpool City CentreWe found Bacchus after looking on the website, we where so excited we knew Diamond from his old restaurant .We had a lovely evening and a wonderful welcome from Diamond and his staff cant wait to return food excellent as always was best wishes Vivienne and mike
Bacchus Taverna – Liverpool City CentreWent for a family 21st last night - the food was incredibly poor quality -i didn't think it possible to get Nachos so wrong! Burgers were served with a slice of processed cheese and on fast food style buns! potato mash was described as inedible by a member of our group, while the rest of us were served oven chips! Surfers-reduce your menu size and concentrate on getting things didn't, not doing everything.
Astoria – West KirbyRecently ate here with my family and the first thing that stood out for us was the choice of food and price. The next thing was how friendly the staff were to us. The food is fantastic, the vegetarians in our family were well catered for and roast dinner was equally excellent too. Definitely worth stopping by if you looking for top quality food!
Le Boulevard – SouthportA midweek birthday celebration was made all the more special by the welcoming and friendly service, varied choice of starters and mains. Really loved the crisp salads and oh the chips, to die for. Looking forward to returning very soon. Lindylou
Greek Taverna – WaterlooMe and my partner went for tea here on Monday and i was stunned at how awful the food was the service was terrible the waiter had no manners and could hardly speak English and the food was disgusting the soup was watery, hardly any meals out we didn't eat our £10.95 worth each and was kicking ourselves that we chose to eat there and felt sick when i had to pay £30.00. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone it is the worst Chinese we have ever had.
The Real China – SouthportI was introduced to Zen about 4 years ago now and fell in love with the place, the food is the best chinese cuisine I have had anywhere in Liverpool and beyond. The warm friendly welcome from the staff makes you feel comfortable and the service is excellent I always recomment Zen to people and make it the venue for family get togethers whether it be a birthday or just an excuse to eat fabulous food.
Zen – West DerbyGreat food and friendly staff ,what more can you want from a night out. They have music nights at the weekends. The prices are very good and an interesting menu.
Lings on Kings – SouthportMyself and my girlfriend went here for dinner recently with high hopes as it had been recommended by a number of different friends. All I can say is that we either got it on a bad night or it has gone downhill since our friends went. We were sat upstairs and my seat was in a part of the restaurant that was a thoroughfare for the waiting staff and anyone going to the toilet. We asked to be moved but all the other tables were booked. Perhaps it was a mistake to get one of the set menus as it was basically Chinese food. We've eaten in a number of Thai restaurants and it simply wasn't Thai cooking - no discernible coconut, lemon grass or chilli or any of the aromatic spices that characterize Thai food. It was competent but hardly inspired and the type of food that you could get in any half-decent chinese, although for a lot less than this restaurant would charge you. The service was polite but not particularly friendly and the food was served very quickly making you feel that you were on something of a conveyor belt. Having had 3 courses and a bottle of wine, we were in and out in 1hr 10mins £85 lighter and feeling a bit cheated.
Chaophraya – Liverpool City CentreI had heard good reports of the Crown of India so I thought I would give it a go. For a first time customer I was very unimpressed. I ordered a takeaway and was told it would be ready for 8.15pm. I duly arrived on time but had to wait until 8.45pm!!! There is a bar there and a nice waiting area so you would have thought that I would have been offered a drink whilst I waited, but no! Also the complimentary chicken wings were completely raw!!! My main mean (Chicken Tikka Jalfrezi) was ok in fairness, but I would need alot of convincing to return again!!
Crown of India – PrescotNothing too much trouble for the chef or the very courteous and attentive staff. The food is of a consistently high standard with an exceptionally varied menu - everything is very competitively priced and Le Boulevard has, of recent times, been credited with various awards for it's endeavours. Highly recommended - give it a try - you will not be disappointed.
Le Boulevard – SouthportSince moving house we started using Ambuja as our local Indian. After the first visit, as good as our previous restaurant is, (and is still within a couple of miles), we have never looked back and continued to use Ambuja as our No.1 takeaway. For quality and price for that quality it is second to none. Staff are friendly and always helpful and it is always a pleasure to order from them. Never had a bad meal and it doesn't matter if we're after something plain or something more adventurous it is still always fab. Even our 2 year old has now started eating curry as a result!
Ambuja Indian Brasserie – HeswallI recently had a meal at the Maharajah in Liverpool with a large group of friends to celebrate my birthday. The meal was excellent and Ali and the rest of the staff really looked after us well. It was good to have the banquet and to be able to sample the wonderful variety of food that they have on their menu. As they claim on their website, their food is very different from most Indian restaurants in the UK, featuring seafood and duck dishes as well as the usual chicken and lamb. Their vegetarian dishes and side dishes are also delicious as well as their range of breads and rice. Try the dhosas! I would also recommend their seafood soup and their ‘rice pudding’. Just writing this makes me want to go back for more!
Maharaja South Indian Restaurant – Liverpool City CentreThe service at the cafe was brilliant the food out of this world reminds me of nans cooking in her heyday
Raggas Caribbean Cafe & Takeaway – Liverpool City CentreWent to the Devon doorway recently and found food and staff excellent. Food was definitely up market and is worth paying a bit more for. Service was excellent
Devon Doorway – HeswallGreat little italian cafe the food is out of this world. I had a lovely carbonara prepared by the good looking dark haired chef a must try
Caffe Roma – St.HelensWent to Marantos and was quite disappointed really. Wasn't too impressed by the service, didn't really feel welcomed - was just like being a sausage going through a machine. The food was fairly average as well, my lamb was not great quality, the sauce was very thin and watery and my wifes risotto didn't sit well with her. To be fair that may or may not be down to Maranto's but it's a little bit of a coincidence. All in all I think the food was average, menu unexciting and service uninspiring. Won't be going back....
Maranto’s Restaurant – AigburthWe booked a table for 9.15 Saturday night after reading rave reviews, what a disappointment, firstly it was like walking into a creche kids running around everywhere prams etc(plus screaming)....... handed a menu asked what drinks we would like, then when taking our order asked if we had booked a table, we sat down had our starter and main and my partner just put his knife and fork down and his plate was pulled away, food mediocre at best seemed more like a jar of sauce had been put on my chicken, so in at 9.15 out by 9.50 a world record, oh yes and the kids were still running around when we left........
