Hong Sing – St.HelensWOW, THE FOOD IS FAB from here, check it out this is the nicest food i have ever had, super tasty and you just want more and more .
Raggas Caribbean Cafe & Takeaway – Liverpool City Centrewent to the Palace Balti at the weekend on recommendation from friends. We were definitely not disappointed. Food was delicious and staff extremely friendly. Would highly recommend.
Palace Balti Tandoori – St.HelensBeen going here for a few years and thought it was an OK restaurant. However, went this weekend and found all the food luke warm and the spring rolls and prawn toast tasted like they had been re-heated from the previous day. When I went to the manageress and said that the food was not hot enough, she said that they "change the water in the heaters on a Friday night so the food isn't usually hot enough until 2pm on the Saturday" - they open at 11.30am and she showed no remorse for the fact that anyone eating between 11.30am and 2pm on a Saturday will be eating cold food. She offered me a bottle of water as an apology (no, I'm not joking!). The Real China needs to be very careful, there are many other restaurants around them. The food they served was extremely poor and I will not be going there again. Sorry Real China, but if you had only appeared remorseful for the awful food me and my family had eaten, I may have given you a second chance, but you didn't care - good luck, you'll need it!!
The Real China – SouthportI recently visited this gem on Smithdown Road and was blown away, I had read some good reviews about the place, but upon arrival, the place was empty (which was such a shame). I chose off the Vegetarian / vegan menu, a selection of vegetarian dishes served on injera bread. The owner explained Eritrean cuisine and offered me a free sample of Honey Wine. The food was very clean and fresh and the owner explained the coffee ritual which I will certainly try next time I am there. Please promote this place and visit it.
Selam Cafe – Wavertreefantastic thats all i can say great food ,great decor and the food is cooked in front of you to add a bit of theatrics great night out
The Sheesh Turkish BBQ Restaurant – St.HelensFood and service very good (a dining experience of top quality you will be impressed)
Spice Brasserie – Mossley HillAfter waiting for 1 hour 15 mins for our starter to arrive - decided we would leave with a our food as a take away,Food was vey average
Elaichi – West DerbyA Liverpool legend. I have been going to Ma Bo for over 35 years. I have recently started returning on business and can therefore charge any siz e of bill. However, its the best alternative to being at home and i walk past many expensive restaurants to get there. I thus charge my expenses about £15 a time. If you eat once in Liverpool make it Ma Bo. From the wonderful duck prepared at the front to the cracking noodles it is all good. Cheaper than a trip to China!
Ma Bo Restaurant – Liverpool City Centreadvertises full english, turned up 11.30 on a Saturday to be told "no eggs and no bacon"! OMG -typical St Helen (Asda is all of 2 mins away)
Caffe Roma – St.HelensMy boyfriend and I went for a meal here on saturday night. We turned up and there were only 3 tables eating. Now know why! I would strongly advise you have a serious think before wasting your money here. The food was the most unauthentic italian food we have ever head - it was worse than something I would make at home! The bruschetta was soggy and the pizza barealy had any meat on it. I asked for spicy meatballs and they tasted bought and had no flavour whatsoever! It wasnt good value for money as the quality of food was so appauling. I would rather cook myself than eat here. The toilets were dirty and had empty toilet rolls lying around and the restaurant itself was filthy - there were cobwebs on the floor under our table. The only good point was the service - the manager and staff were friendly and polite, but that is all this place has going for it! I have never written a review before for a restaurant but I feel so strongly that I dont even think this place should call itself a restaurant!
didnt have good experience were not told on arrival we could not order from live bar until 3pm if we had been informed we would have returned at 3 we noticed that another customer had had the chefs make him pizza from live bar so dont understand that my husband got some chicken tikka masala from buffet but very little chicken in sauce left we asked chefs if they would be replenishing same they said yes they were making it as we spoke still had not been replenished some time later we gave up waiting and left a shame because it was the nicest food available from buffet
Ocean World Buffet & Bar – SouthportCame to try here after friends recommendation, `yes its a nice ambience, friendly staff and really nice food. As a confirmed curry head I tried some of the Nepalese dishes they offer, starter was a mixed kebab splendid and unusual followed by a Lamb chop dish marinated in wine and cooked in a special source, no curry in it at all but lovely spicy hot sauce, really enjoyed them, my friend had lemon chicken which he enjoyed. The Peshwari nan was absolutely excellent, the nicest I have had in many a year. Try the unusual Indian dessert, like a hot jelly in a rosewater syrup. really yummy ! All in all a very enjoyable feast. Definitely going on the Yes List !
Saffron – WaterlooThe Westminster Tea Rooms are lovely to visit for Afternoon tea they have a few different afternoon teas to choose from, I have tried them all and would recommend all of them. The decoe of the tea rooms is very traditional with the white linen tablecloths that are spotless. This is a must to visit if you are in the area
Westminster Tea Rooms – SouthportI used to eat at The Shipping Forecast about once every month, and was always very satisfied. However, I visited last week and was extremely disappointed with the standard of the food. I ordered a chicken, bacon and avocado burger with twice cooked Maris Piper chips. The burger was fine, apart from the sliver of avocado. I was very disappointed, however, that instead of twice cooked Maris Piper chips I was served greasy, floppy chips that left the paper underneath almost completely transparent. Some of the chips were almost raw. My friend ordered the fish and chips, which was also very greasy. We shared a side order of onion rings, which would be best described on the menu as just 'rings' as they were mainly chunks of greasy batter, with hardly any onion at all. It's a shame that the standard of food has slipped, as the service and atmosphere cannot be faulted in The Shipping Forecast, and if you're not eating it is a lovely place to have a drink. There is a wide selection of ales, ciders and beers at reasonable prices, and all the staff are very friendly. The atmosphere is lovely and very relaxed. I will definitely be returning, but not to eat.
The Shipping Forecast – Liverpool City CentreI met the head chef two weeks ago in a super bar called The Inn Beer shop. Thus Norma and I visited Lings last week. Our meal was superb. So much so we re-visited last night( Monday). Once again the food was of a very high standard. The restaurant is immaculate and I liked the ' ambience' very much. Lings will be a regular ' eating place for us from now onwards. We chatted to Ling ( owner) and she is a lovely person. We share a love of cats. Do visit Lings the food will not disappoint you. John
Lings on Kings – SouthportMe and my family love this place we have been going here for 25 years it still the same as it was way back then lovely never ever changed and still some off the same staff I close family run we get it evey week I just phone up and say can I order and they say hello jo that's how long we been eatting here we even get christmas cards enjoy urself and eat here or get take away
