Lings on Kings – SouthportWe went Fri' afternoon. Great food, attentive staff and a great feeling about the place. The best Plaice dish my partner had ever had.. We will be returning soon..
Hanover Street Social – Liverpool City CentreI have tried a variety of the dishes at Selam Cafe and they have all been delicious! The freshly cooked injera are a real treat with the different spiced sauces. Good selection of vegetarian and vegan food. The coffee ceremony is a must, the coffee is made from scratch in front of you and tastes amazing. This place is well worth a visit.
Selam Cafe – WavertreeThis is the 2nd time iv post on this website regarding que pasa cantina. The 1st was a 10 out of 10 review however I'm sad to say I can not say the same again this time. My wife and have been many times and for a long time it was fortnightly night out for us. The 1at time we went we met the manager. A lovely young man who was absolutely outstanding I could not praise him enough. My wife and I were sad to hear that he left in early January as he always recognised us and always made sure we were well looked after and that there was a table for us no matter how busy they were. After he left things seemed to change altho the service was still good and the food was excellent there was something not the same. Slowly we noticed lapses in service and standards a prime example being when a woman in her late 40's early 50's with dark hair sat us took our drinks order. Are drinks took over 20minutes to arrive. After which we had to wait a further 20minutes for a food order to be taken despite telling our server we were ready to order when she brought our drinks over. The woman completely ignored us and walked off. When are food did arrive it was wrong. My wife has an intolerance to sour cream thus we asked for our nachos to be without sour cream. When we raised this with our server she quickly took the nachos away and they were replaced. We didn't think anything of it as mistakes do happen. But we were.shocked to find that my wifes burrito to be covered in sour cream. We raised this with our server who said we hadn't explained my wifes intolerance to sour cream. The food was replaced by which point we felt our night had been marred by the incompetance of our server.nt only did she gt our food wrong bt she kept bringing us drinks we did not order or the wrong drinks. After paying our bill in FULL we decided to leave. On my way out I decide I want to speak to the manager and asked the lad behind the bar who pointed over my shoulder at the woman who had served us. All I can say is what a joke. Will not be returning anytime soon and we now both understand que pasa's decline. What a shame!!
Que Pasa Cantina – AigburthVisited for 3rd time last week with 3 friends. The food is fantastic, | ordered soup which was really tasty but wish I'd ordered whitebait, which I love, tasted my friends ,it was so fresh and cooked to perfection. Mixed seafood platter was fantastic, my friends all said how good their dishes were, french onion soup and a pork dish with risotto, best risotto they have ever tasted. Service was good, and lovely ambience, will definitely be going back
Hanover Street Social – Liverpool City CentreSpent another great evening at surfers. Whenever we have family and friends over for the weekend the first place we try to book is surfers. The food is excellent and good value for money. This is a great place to go with children as everyone old and young are made to feel welcome. We will be back!
Astoria – West KirbyI recently visited Milan, the two course offer before 7, I thought, was a competitive and comparable deal to other restaurants in the area. I had, also, over the last few years frequented in its past guise as The Green Room, which I enjoyed thoroughly. Upon visiting in its current guise as Milan, I felt just disappointment. The menu is nicely presented, but nothing jumped out at me I didn't think wow that looks nice! I opted for the Tuscan sausages for a starter, it came out, two sausages in a bowl, topped with a sprig of parsley. Nothing really inventive about it, pleasant enough , just didn't seem much effort had gone into it. For the main, I chose the pork belly, always a must if on the menu. When it arrived, it was in a mini cauldron, stewed in a thick gravy like sauce, topped with a sprig of parsley. Again quite disappointed, no one commented , that looks nice, because it didn't. When I saw someone else's beef dish, in the same mini cauldron , with a comparable thick gravy sauce, topped again with a sprig of parsley, I just felt the menu has no invention. The vegetables potatoes had the air of quality / stock control, nicely presented but finely metered out in a frugal manner. Pork belly was fished out the cauldron, it was just stewed meat, think casserole. It was very salty and very rich, I did not enjoy it, but looking at the menu I don't think I would of enjoyed anything else, unless you liked parsley! To summarize - could do better ..... a lot better.
Milan – West KirbyLove this place, food is beautiful. 14 of us had the banquet on the most recent visit and the food just kept on coming and coming! Lovely service and hospitality. Would highly recommend this little Liscard gem!
Mezze – WallaseyWe are regulars to Sheridans for food, the 2 for £8 deal is great. Food fresh and service/staff are lovely. Much better quality food than your usual pub food. Would recommend. Back beer garden is great, secluded and people don't seem to realise it is there. You don't need to sit in the front for the sun!
Sheridans Bar and Restaurant – WallaseyExciting new cuisine. Food very tasty, interesting spices used. Would recommend the Eritrean coffee ceremony, the beans are freshly roasted in front of you.
Selam Cafe – WavertreeGreat food, great value, great service and great atmosphere, no reservations on booking again and please enjoy. Well done to the owners and staff of the Tai Pan for providing Liverpool with a Premier eating house. Henry - October 2011
Tai Pan Restaurant – Liverpool City CentreI went to Blue Mango's Sunday buffet and I have honestly never been treated so badly by a restaurant before. When we arrived it was a ghost town, which should have sent alarm bells ringing but I decided to give them a chance. The food was mediocre to say the least and very limited choice for a buffet. After finishing our first plate I asked the waiter if we could have clean plates and was promptly told no that I would have to use the same plate if I wanted to return to the buffet. I didn't like the korma that I had on my first plate enough to see it mixed in with another food so I decided not to get anything else. We got up and left and paid a total of £28 for two plates of watery food, two poppadoms, a glass of juice, a glass of water and a rude waiter. I complained to the manager, was laughed at and told "You can't please everyone". Who can blame him for laughing really, when I'd just forked over £28 for cheap bland food and poor service.
Blue Mango Restaurant – PrescotFantastic place with friendly service but where is their website for take aways??
A Taste Of Bengal – WallaseyThe staff are great and so is the food. The managers name is Ali, is really annoying and does not show respect to his fellow workers. The layout of the place is really great and easy access to get in by.
Shantii – FormbyBest Greek restaurant in Liverpool food, service and price 5/5
Greek Taverna – Waterloowent here for lunch anticipating about £20 a head bill came to £18 for two The food was not five star but it was tasty and generally well presented. Would definitely go there again, only let down for me personally was dessert but others in our party really enjoyed it
The Real China – Southporthaving being recommended this restaurant i was really looking forward to a lamb kleftico but having scanned the menu i couldn't find it! i asked the waiter if they did not do it ! and he pointed out a dish on the menu and said that was it! when i received my meal it was a lamb shank it a kind of gravy!! when i complained to him explaining that my idea of lamb kleftico was a braised lamb shank with vegatables sliced potato and cheese done in a pot or foil, he became down right rude and told me that kleftico meant braised lamb on the bone of any sort and not lamb with vegetables ,potatoes and cheese!! he treated my partner and i with utter contempt and was extremely unprofessional!! i have since googled the recipe for lamb kleftico and all of them are with veg potatoes and cheese! just has i thought ! this is a restaurant i will not be visiting again in a hurry!!
Retsina Greek Restaurant – West DerbyFour of us enjoyed an afternoon tea here and we were all highly impressed with this tea room. The atmosphere was superb, and we were warmly welcomed and treated very very well indeed. The food and drink was of a very high standard and the service impeccable. The only criticism I could level would be the fact that my cafetiere of coffee was rather small and soon ran out, whilst my dining companion was given a large tea pot and her supply of tea did not run out. Apart from that small niggle, we really couldn't fault our experience.
