Went to the Devon doorway recently and found food and staff excellent. Food was definitely up market and is worth paying a bit more for. Service was excellent

Devon Doorway – HeswallGreat little italian cafe the food is out of this world. I had a lovely carbonara prepared by the good looking dark haired chef a must try
Caffe Roma – St.HelensWent to Marantos and was quite disappointed really. Wasn't too impressed by the service, didn't really feel welcomed - was just like being a sausage going through a machine. The food was fairly average as well, my lamb was not great quality, the sauce was very thin and watery and my wifes risotto didn't sit well with her. To be fair that may or may not be down to Maranto's but it's a little bit of a coincidence. All in all I think the food was average, menu unexciting and service uninspiring. Won't be going back....
Maranto’s Restaurant – AigburthWe booked a table for 9.15 Saturday night after reading rave reviews, what a disappointment, firstly it was like walking into a creche kids running around everywhere prams etc(plus screaming)....... handed a menu asked what drinks we would like, then when taking our order asked if we had booked a table, we sat down had our starter and main and my partner just put his knife and fork down and his plate was pulled away, food mediocre at best seemed more like a jar of sauce had been put on my chicken, so in at 9.15 out by 9.50 a world record, oh yes and the kids were still running around when we left........
Mr Elephant – St.HelensThe best ever Indian food we have ever tasted we have became regulars since it first opened excellent service and food we go once twice a week and never disappointed Tues and sun 3 course meal deal of 9.99 fantastic not to be missed,Helen & Ian.
Ambuja Indian Brasserie – Heswallvery good value for food, staff were friendly and pleasant very good side meal ... partner was so happy to have a curry as i don't like them but i enjoyed my meal so much i would go there again might even try a curry :)
Hilal Balti House – FormbyJust passed by and decided to try it our for lunch.Great place, great atmosphere and great service. The food was fab and the puds to due for especially the Amaretto pud yummy....will defo go again.
The Italian Club – Liverpool City Centrei have visited many Indian restaurants all over the country, the crown is one of the best there is. food is superb, service second to none. how lucky we are to have this little gem on our doorstep.
Crown of India – PrescotWe booked a table for 9pm on a thursday evening at San Carlo on Castle Street. We Arrived at about 8:50pm and straight away informed them that we were there, we got directed to the bar which although very nice to look at, is very small and with people sitting around it, very hard to get served!! We waited about 15 mins to order a drink, with me in the end having to wave my arms in front of one of the few bar staff face. The restaurant was very busy with 35+ yrs old business types and had quite a upty vibe! We waited until half 9, with no one approaching us to explain when we were going to be seated, instead we had to keep addressing the receptionist who didn't seem to care customers were unhappy. 'It will be about 5 mins', wateva, at 5 to 10pm we decided to walk out as we were so disappointed we didn't want to spend our money there. The food may be great but we'll never know because we'll never gpo back. Awful service!!! After we walked out a waiter followed us and explained that our table was now ready... quite surprised they even noticed we left!! Think the restaurant has got too big for its own boots and needs to remember its roots!!!
San Carlo – Liverpool City CentreMy wife and I have eaten at this restaurant on several occasions and cannot fault it, price service and most of food are all quality..
Crown of India – PrescotMostly in agreement about the food, but not about all the front-of-house staff. The two youngsters waiter and waitress were good. But the female maitre d' was haughty and condescending. The young waiter was superb, his counterpart tried hard. It seems to specialise in banquets but the barbecue sauce was insipid.
Ying Wah Restaurant – Wooltonfab food been going to the seconder from when they first opened recommended lots of people never had a bad meal ever tandoori chicken to die for
Cafe Sekander – Mossley HillI've been to Greece a number of times, and love Greek food. I was looking forward to eating at Retsina, having seen some good reviews on this site. But I was very disappointed at the quality of the food - cheap ingredients, overcooked and underspiced. Service was adequate, atmosphere good. But I really wouldn't recommend here if you want decent Greek food - and it's not cheap and cheerful, either, you can get better value elsewhere locally.
Retsina Greek Restaurant – West Derbynice atmosphere, will go and visit again.
The Hub Alehouse & Kitchen – Liverpool City Centreexcellent food, staff very attentive, have been on quite a few occasions, and never been disappointed would recommend to all my friends and family, this is what Crosby has been missing for years! Adele Crosby
So Salsa – CrosbyJust popped in for quick healthy lunch and was amazed at how tasty a simple prawn marie rose jacket potato and side salad could be! The service was excellent and I was pleasantly surprised to be offered balsamic dressing as well as the usual condiments. for my salad. Lovely atmosphere and yummy food. Highly recommend and will definitely going again :)
Willow Tea House & Bistro – Heswallextremely good food and prices all freshly prepared on the premises staff are very nice and tend to you every need don't know his name but the dark haired Italian treats all the customers like royalty to sum up food is excellent and i highly recommend everyone to try this cafe highly recommended
Caffe Roma – St.HelensThe food is fantastic, I will certainly give it that. I was very disappointed with the service though as there were only 2 tables occupied and it took them 10 minutes to offer drinks and 50 minutes to serve the starter alone. I would recommend it, but only if they speed up the service. I will try again in the future but perhaps stick to their take away for now, which seemed busy. Could have just been a one off as staff were still very polite too. Thanks
