Matou – Liverpool City CentreHong Sing has a great range of food they are always re-filling the buffet loads of starters to choose from that i often don't get passed them as i am full, the staff are all friendly and helpful we go a lot as it is also easy for parking
Hong Sing – St.HelensFantastic food, breakfasts are superb & taste so fresh. Would recommend to all, very good value for money & friendly staff.
The Kitchen – Mossley HillI recently ate here on a busy Saturday night and cannot fault it!! the food was superb and the staff were welcoming, professional and friendly!! All in all fantastic night
The Portrait House – HoylakeThe restaurant is pleasing to the eye and there is plenty of choice, however, the vegetarian option is limited to non existent really. Having had the arrabiata as a predictable choice - it doesn't have cheese in- have to say apart from the penne and tomato sauce there was not much else in it. My omnivore colleagues enjoyed their meals and did have alot of choice.
San Carlo – Liverpool City CentreBeen a few times to the Crown of India, enjoyed it each time very much, lovely service and the food is very good.
Crown of India – PrescotAbsolutely out of this world!! I will return again and again, until it's January diet month! (and then I'll sneak in by myself)
Viva Brazil – Liverpool City CentreMe and my wife sampled the super Christmas menu Saturday 18th December and found it totally spot on. My wife chose mushroom risotto followed by the turkey meal with goose fat roasted potatoes (mouth watering) and all the trimmings then baileys cheesecake - Washed down with a nice bottle of merlot. I chose the home made chicken liver pate with crusty bread with side of caramelised onions, main meal was fall off the bone lamb (beautifully cooked) with chive mash followed by baileys cheesecake - Every bit was delightful, could not fault a thing, we highly recommend this fine restaurant for a lovely cosy atmosphere, if you can get a seat there before the Christmas menu goes off the board you will not be disappointed! Don't miss out if you can. Also plenty of cask ales to be had to should you like the real deal beers.... Staff are fabulous, place is cosy, warm and perfect for a total delightful meal. I shall be returning asap.... Thanks to all there, see you soon Steve
The Monro – Liverpool City CentreHad a wonderful meal here last week,no corners cut in serving the best truly authentic Indian food .Excellent service and very ambient surroundings, don't know how they do it for the price! will definitely return a must to visit in Formby SaM
Zyka – FormbyWent to spice lounge on the 14th Dec 2010 first of all was going to a concert at the arena so thought what better place to eat, also took advantage of a local radio offer of half price food voucher, and to be honest was glad of the voucher, 1st course I had was a minced chicken kebab that for some reason all you could taste was fish sauce? My wife’s 1st course was aloo tikki described as potato patties with Indian spices. What came resembled and tasted like small savoury cakes from our local chip shop, 2nd course for myself was a lamb chooka what i can only describe as pieces of lamb cooked in a mulligatawny soup? My wife’s 2nd course was a chicken jalfreasi which at £16 for the main without a rice or bread we thought was expensive, then it come to the table, all be it after a mammoth wait, what arrived was hugely disappointing, dry tasteless chicken in a tomato sauce with a slight kick in, we did not have time to have desert after it taking over two hours for 2 courses, overall i had a massively disappointing meal, that does not compare anywhere near the other Indian restaurants i go to in Liverpool city centre and also one on the east lancs road, And mainly was astounded with the prices of the food , just because it is in the Albert dock does not mean the have to charge premier league footballers prices for 4th division food,
Spice Lounge – Liverpool City CentreHave ate twice at this restaurant, both times good food. most recent visit Monday for Xmas menu - food excellent would recommend anyone to try.
Matou – Liverpool City CentreUnfortunately the meal I had at the Pioneer was less than satisfactory. I went there for the three course Christmas menu with my sister and we were very disappointed. The sprouts were like bullets, grossly undercooked and the carrots were unpeeled and also undercooked. . We eat out quite a lot and know that vegetables only require minimum cooking time. However they might as well have been raw!! The starter was goats cheese which unfortunately was too large, covered in batter and without any sauce or accompaniment - only a small amount of leaves which I assume was meant to pass as salad. So I can't understand the enthusiasm for this restaurant. We won't be going back.
Pioneer Bar and Brasserie – CrosbyVisited this restaurant on Saturday 11th December, booking was for 9.30pm we received our first course at 10.50pm, after complaining to the Manager no action was taken whatsoever. The Manager totally dismissed there was a problem, he then sent a member of staff over to offer us a complimentary bottle of wine, 1 bottle for a party of 7 people. (how insulting). After completing our meal (which I must point wasn't nothing exciting) at midnight, we then received our bill to find we had been charged for the bottle of wine. No apologies were given and the service was very very poor and the food was nothing exciting either. The most helpful people were the young lads waiting on
Sapporo Teppanyaki Liverpool – Liverpool City Centre11/12/2010 - just had a fantastic meal at Chilli Banana, I'm veggie and the selection for me was fantastic with almost as much choice as there was for meat eaters. Out of curiosity we tried the chocolate spring rolls for afters between us and they are out of this world, they are served with orange and ginger ice cream which I wasn't too sure about from the sound of it but honestly it was beautiful. Would thoroughly recommend Chilli Banana to anyone.
Chilli Banana – AigburthI went to Zorbas last Saturday with an old friend for dinner. The meal was delicious and the atmosphere relaxed and informal. If you enjoy authentic Greek cuisine then I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Zorbas – Liverpool City Centrewe went 2 nine dragons for our Christmas work night out. Food was delicious, staff really friendly & best of all the prices were very reasonable, would definitely recommend this place.
Nine Dragons – AintreeWe have been to the Belash many many times and to us it is the Best Indian Restaurant in the whole of the North West. The Staff are very friendly and the food is Amazing....
Belash – SouthportWe went here for the "all you can eat" on Sunday the 28th Nov. The service was poor. Once we eventually got our order in for starter it was served very sloppily at our table, at least one bowls worth ended up on the table! The place was freezing and we were positioned beside their fish tank located in the rear (false) wall so we ended up sitting in a gale with our coats on. When we asked to be moved out of the draught we were placed on a central table. Although this was out of the draught it was situated directly above some sort of motor so the whole floor vibrated. Still to cold to remove our jackets. When we complained about the cold they said the heating was broken, it was below 0 oC outside so they shouldn't have opened. We should have left after the soup as the rest of the food wasn't great either. Will not be going back.
