Magic Spices – WallaseyWe went to the Retsina 30th Dec and it was a mistake, i opted for the speciality the "Psiton Kleftiko" if this is a speciality then??? the cut of lamb is described as being slow roased on the bone what i received was cheap cuts of lamb i would reserve for the dog!! the sauce was weak tomato based with massive chunks of garlic and ample paprika??? not rich and authentic as i had hoped. My partner opted for the chicken kebabs which in all fairness were nice but then how hard is it to marinate a few pieces of chicken and grill them??? All was served up with frozen chips (nice) and nondescript rice!!! Would i recommend this place...errrr no, a kebab from a chippy would have been more tasty!
Retsina Greek Restaurant – West Derbyme and my friend went for a meal 23/12/2009 and was very disappointed since we have used this restaurant many times before. the was only 3 small pieces of lamb in the curry and the rest was onions and green peppers. i had a vindaloo which was just chilli powder with no sauce or flavour. we complained at the time but they were not interested.
Master Chef Tandoori Restaurant – Liverpool City CentreFirst class food at exceptional prices we held my parents golden wedding here and everyone remarked on the quality of the food and the friendly atmosphere. Yes perhaps the decor is a bit dated but the menu is extensive and well prepared and cooked to order and at the prices they charge it is amazing they make any profit!!!
The Charcoal Grill – St.HelensAlways tasty, very friendly service - try the tiffin if you are feeling greedy
The Quarter – Liverpool City Centrewent to maharaja last night with two friends all had the non vegetarian banquet £22.50 each what an amazing food experience every aspect of the meal was amazing we were truly stuffed when we left due to the amount of food and the quality was outstanding the service was superb this is a must for food lovers
Maharaja South Indian Restaurant – Liverpool City Centrewent to yee rah after late night xmas shoppin. food lovely duck spring rolls to die for. steak for main course fantastic loads of flavour. reasonable prices and lovely views. well worth a try and would recommend
Yee Rah Bar & Grill – Liverpool City CentreI have been going to Zen for years now. The staff are lovely and friendly, food always spot on and such a varied menu. I always recommend to friends and family.
Zen – West DerbyLovely setting, currently a 2-4-2 menu including all of the specials. Great value for money.
Bootle Arms – BootleHave eaten here twice, the first time the staff were rushed off their feet as it was packed. We waited ages for our food and it was cold, decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and recently returned, this time it was half empty but the food was tasteless. They have a varied menu, but seem to do lots of things badly instead of focusing on a few things and doing them well. Also saw a worrying creamy sauce for pasta being kept at an unsafe temperature on our way out, I'd avoid that one personally unless you're after rapid weight loss!!
Yee Rah Bar & Grill – Liverpool City CentreAte in the quarter last night. The food was poor, i have never eaten such dry bread in my life. The service was average to say the least. For what we had to eat and drink £35.00 per person was very expensive.
The Quarter – Liverpool City CentreI often go to this restaurant and have never been disappointed. The £18 banquet has got to be the best meal I have ever tasted try the Crispy Beef with a hint of ginger just wonderful.
Phoenix Palace – West DerbyA positive to start things off. Erm... attentive service. Unfortunately, it was all down hill after that. My girlfriend ordered the Veggie and Camembert burger which was a decent sized offering but lacked a crucial ingredient. The veggie burger. I went for the Aubergine and Goat's Cheese option and the burger itself was a block of goat's cheese covered in bread crumbs that had been deep-fat fried. My stomach didn't know what had hit it. We both felt underwhelmed by the burgers themselves and also the price as they are similar to the meat options. We won't be going back.
Gourmet Burger Kitchen – Liverpool City CentreI love this restaurant, the owner Lui is very welcoming, the staff attentive & the food first class. A genuine Italian, its only been open about 5 weeks & I have been 5 times already. Give it a try.
Sorrento – FormbyGreat Chinese restaurant . Friendly clean and good food . Excellent early buffet as well
Ying Wah Restaurant – WooltonWe just an excellent meal, the staff were very friendly and efficient. The decor is very tasteful and all in all a very nice place. Very sensibly priced, the Christmas menu is fantastic. Highly recommended.
The Portrait House – Hoylakelovely meal - friendly staff - could have done with an extra person waiting on tables as the one person we saw was run ragged and whilst food was timely delays to order and get bill were quite long
