Sgt. Peppers Pizzeria – Southportseems to have a new look to the place very cool .the food and service was perfect and the prices are fantastic . the best restaurant in Liverpool without a doubt
Owens – ChildwallGood food but don't go if you are in a group unless you all want a banquet....we booked for 14 covers but because we didn't all want the banquet they gave us 2 tables for 7......at opposite ends of the restaurant! Polite requests to sit closer together were ignored despite tables being available. Great food....bad attitude!
Chaophraya – Liverpool City CentreWhat a night! we visited Almond for the first time on Saturday and it was great! we went for my boyfriends birthday and they made it really special sirloin steak and chips was gorgeous but the whole night was made so special by the new little waiter gerant, he was just so small and cute, he also brought my boyfriend ( who he seemed to take a shine to) a cake with a candle and sang him Happy birthday! we would go back for the food but defo for gerant! what a star!
Almond Bar and Restaurant – West DerbyThe gulshan is a top Indian restaurant! I have been visiting for many years and the restaurant benefits from the new bar upstairs which seems to make the visit more of a night out! Staff are great especially the new editon to the team gerant who is half indian and sings in the bar upstairs at weekends! he makes it a great night and his choice of indian songs are great!
Gulshan – AigburthThis is a place that you must visit, just had the Sunday buffet at an unbelievable 5.99 for all you can eat. Beautiful Indian food with a modern light touch, all of the highest quality, hot freshly made naan bread, a range of great vegetarian dishes along with the tasty chicken and lamb dishes and good choice of salads. i try to avoid Indian restaurants as a rule, they are normally dreadful, and having eaten here some years ago when it was under a different name (Coriander) and different ownership i thought it fell into that catagory. But i can assure you the food i have just had was some of the best Indian food i have eaten. The service was great and decor modern and clean. What i find hard to believe is that it isn't doing good business, tucked away in st johns rd; not an ideal site for restaurant, but the food was still fantastic. One cautionary note as with most Indian restaurants if you order a sweet that isn’t Indian expect it to be nothing special. i had the rasmalai (first time) something in between barfi and paneer not too sweet and bathed in nut milk, a bit like sweet milk curds and totally beautiful. You must try this place, just a great modern Indian restaurant.
Saffron – WaterlooAs a family we keep on coming back to Mezze because the food is consistently delicious, the portions are huge and the value for money excellent. The food is Turkish,- think Greek but tastier, and all tastes home cooked, including the pitta bread - a world above the shop-bought stuff offered in some supposedly more upmarket greek restaurants. It's been going years and is usually busy, which is always a good sign. Friendly and unpretentious. Do try it!
Mezze – Wallaseywe highly recommend Tonys Restaurant for the best food in Southport, very pleasant surroundings and excellent service, the menu has a good variety and the portions are very generous to suit all tastes also there is a very good selection of wines. we have been eating at Tonys for a number of years and we have never ever been disappointed.hewitt@
Tony’s Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria – SouthportFantastic never get a bad meal. Best fillet steak in town
Tony’s Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria – SouthportStopped off here for a coffee on Saturday. Despite the pouring rain outside it was so homely and warm inside. Had a delicious decaf soy latte. Great atmosphere and very friendly service too. Will be back to try some food there next time I'm in Liverpool.
Oomoo – Wavertreebeen here often over the years but went yesterday. really good food, friendly staff and good atmosphere had a hot hot pizza by request with extra chillies wow the boss is a nice guy, always welcoming but the food speaks for itself, good, tasty and most of all not that expensive really good value !
Quo Vadis – Formbyme and my wife eat here often, the food is to die for and the service is good by far the best Spanish restaurant to eat in Liverpool
Tapas Tapas – WaterlooI had a meal at pioneer bar and brasserie last Thursday,i have to say that the food wasn't great at all in fact it was pretty poor.I was told that there was a new chef who had a cv of top places he had worked as long as his arm. I have also been informed that if i wanted a excellent meal by this top chef that it would have to be a breakfast as 'top chef' doesn't do much more than a breakfast shift .
Pioneer Bar and Brasserie – CrosbyIt was on a whim that my partner, my friend and I decided to go to this restaurant, as it had reached the crucial point in our evening out when we would either continue the festivities, or simply go home early. We knew the outstanding reputation that the locally established duo of French Bistro's held, and were amazed at the incredible Sunday dining deal- 2 Courses plus a bottle of wine per person for only £13.95!- definitely a deal we wanted to take advantage of. We started with a bottle of house red and perused the menu, so many dishes took my fancy and I reached the crucial decision of having a starter, rather than a pudding (usually unheard of for me!) I chose the Wood Pigeon and Beetroot Salad, with Hazelnut Oil dressed Salad, as I'd never tried pigeon before. The nutty notes from the slightly overdone bird, complemented the hazelnut oil, as the acidity from the beetroot cut through the richness of the dark, gamy meat. I thoroughly enjoyed my starter, although it was over in a bite or two! For our main course, we all liked the look of the Fillet of Beef (which we payed a supplement for) and enquired with our attentive waitress, as to how they cooked the steak i.e was the steak English medium-rare, or French medium-rare. Upon her advice, I decided to have my steaks rare. And when those three plates of sizzling steaks arrived, we simply couldn't wait for their accompanying vegetables. One bite of this melt-in-the mouth steak was enough to know that this was a fantastic choice of restaurant. Served in a brandy, pate and mushroom cream sauce, on a crouton, to say this was cooked to perfection would be very cliche, but indeed, it was. The gratin dauphinoise, was garlicky and creamy, the cabbage rich and flavoured with red wine, and the al dente mangetout and carrots complemented the meal as a light side. Every mouthful of this meal was a sheer pleasure to eat, as we washed down the final mouthfuls with more wine. Regrettably, I had to pass on the final morsels to my fellow diners, as I couldn't finish it and wouldn't hear of one scrap being wasted! On a separate note, my partner opted for the cheese board instead of his started and was severely disappointed in what he received- not a Brie de Meaux or indeed any French cheese in sight.
Bistro Franc – Liverpool City CentreI have just returned from the Mayur and was appalled by the complete lack of service at this restaurant. Me and my partner waited a ridiculously long time to be served and didn't even receive our 3rd course and no apology was issued by the manager when I mentioned this to him. I would not dine here again as the service was so shocking and the manager had a couldn't care less attitude, I was frankly shocked by how blase the manager was about my comments as this is supposed to be one better Indian restaurants in the city.
Mayur – Liverpool City CentreThis is probably the best Indian Restaurant on the Wirral. Very high standard from start to finish. Fine dining at it's best. The presentation of food is wonderful and the service is of a very high standard. I cant wait to go back with the whole family.
Ambuja Indian Brasserie – HeswallWe have been eating here for 15 years and the standards have never varied -good value for money and excellent service. We saw another side to their service when 5 of us went to eat and my friend took suddenly ill - they were fantastic and called for paramedics and sat with her till they arrived and caused the least possible embarrassment for her whilst they dealt with the situation. They were brilliant with us all and even asked us to let them know how our friend was doing (she's fine now). When she called to thank them they offered her a free meal when she next goes (which will be soon). Great restaurant - Great Customer Service !
