Savina – Liverpool City CentreAuthentic Kerala cuisine - friendly service - excellent food
Maharaja South Indian Restaurant – Liverpool City CentreHad a lovely meal, staff very attentive and couldn't have been more pleasant, but surfers always has fantastic, polite and friendly staff, never had to complain. always have a brilliant meal. thank you Loz
Astoria – West Kirbywas amazing night staff and managers very professional and friendly. Typical Italian atmosphere i will come back as a soon. thanks Luke
Piccolino – Liverpool City CentreI am a south Indian craving for south Indian food and i am pleased to say whenever I feel the urge to taste a good south Indian curry I dash out to Maharajas. Excellent food and service.
Maharaja South Indian Restaurant – Liverpool City CentreThis is the best meal we have ever eaten. We went on a Saturday night for our wedding anniversary with high expectations and were not disappointed. We opted for the Bespoke menu and everything that came from the kitchen ( and there were many, many courses) was an absolute delight. The service was friendly and incredibly efficient from knowledgeable staff and the atmosphere was relaxed. We are still talking about our fantastic evening and can't wait to go back. Can't recommend highly enough.
Fraiche Restaurant – OxtonTRIED IT AND DIDN'T LIKE IT-OAP FOOD FROM THE 80'S
Forge Brasserie – Southportwhat can I say, fantastic absolutely loved it, just plain simple old fashion fantastic, people are really nice, the music is nice and the food is nice. defo coming here again.:-)
Savina – Liverpool City Centredidnt like it at all they even tried to rob our change.
Il Forno – Liverpool City CentreI booked a table for last saturday at 7.30 pm, as soon as i went in, i have seen a lot of confusion, then I waited at the door for 15 minutes before I sat down, (the managers and the receptionist were very unpleasant and nasty), the I waited for someone to get me a drink, , I waited for my starter a long time and I had my main course rushed out because they were late with the next booking. I don't recommend this place to nobody. They suppose to serve and greet people in Italian style, but the only Italian thing in there is the name. I have been to Italy a lot of times and the greeting and the service in Italy is top quality. Also to be an Italian restaurant, could be nice to see more Italian staff in there and to see the real Italian atmosphere . I would like to recommend the owner to change is management if he likes to go far.
Il Forno – Liverpool City CentreChipmunks is just how a chip shop should be. You have to queue but it's worth it, i'm addicted to their (not overly) battered fish chips & peas. If you can't wait until you get home to eat they've a seating area.
Chipmunks – St.HelensMyself and my wife visited this restaurant in the first week it opened over 30 years ago. We now live in Canada, but revisit every time we return to Liverpool. It hasn't changed much, even the menu seems the same, but it's bright and cheerful and the quality and pricing is good.
Casa Italia – Liverpool City Centrethis is a great chinese and suits all ages. we have gone as a couple and as a family and the staff are wonderful. they are very good with kids and the elderly which is sadly lacking in a lot of restaurants particularly for a city that will be capital of culture next year 2008. We have also been here with alarge party and again teh food and service was very good. it is also very reasonable for the quality of the food. my only comment would be for the management to give it a little refurb and do something with upstairs especially the lighting as I think this would really add to the atmosphere. Bess
Ying Wah Restaurant – WooltonThis is a gorgeous setting, and the food is excellent. The service is sometimes a little slow, and having to pay a deposit to make a booking can be irritating, but the food is so good, it's worth the inconvenience.
Khrua Thai Orchid – HeswallThis was such a disappointing restaurant. Like the previous reviewer we were shuffled upstairs, first mistake! We made a reservation and afterwards realised downstairs was a much nicer atmosphere. We were surrounded by large parties. The Duck was burned and the food came out on cold plates with no warmers. The service was terrible and I was so embarrassed to have suggested it to my family. There is so much choice in Liverpool. Don't make the same mistake I made.
Mei Mei – Liverpool City Centrerecently ate and was sceptical about the change to one menu, the whole evening was fantastic. A young local student served us and was warm and friendly and exceptionally knowledgeable they should keep that young Man as long as they can. have recommended to several friends who have shared a similar experience of late and have been making the most of the pre-theatre menu on offer, think regulars like us deserve a discount though
The London Carriage Works – Liverpool City Centrehighly recommended staff are polite food is beautiful surprised my husband with an on the house knickerbocker glory for his birthday and sang to him lovely friendly atmosphere, well worth a trip.
China Garden – AintreeWent here last night with my partner to see what all the fuss was about re the "Wednesday Night Offer". At first sight 2 courses and a bottle of wine each for £12.95 seems great. To be honest, I was slightly disappointed. Most of the decent stuff on the main course menu carries a supplement of at least £2 so you are left with chicken, roast pork or pasta. However, I chose a sirloin steak which was ok but my partner chose the roast pork with crackling which ended up actually as a large piece of belly pork. It was at least 60% fat/rind, and what little meat there was, was undercooked. The crackling did not exist. To add to this our pan of vegetables was slightly undercooked - I like crisp vegetables, but these were verging on hard. Upon bringing this issue to the attention of the waitress, she simply shrugged (we later found out that she had in fact told the duty manager but he had not approached us before going off duty). Our 2nd course was acceptable (Apple Crumble & (powdered) Custard/ Cheese Board). It took three attempts to get the bill and we ended up putting on our coats to simply get attention. We put our complaints to the new duty manager who apologised and reduced the bill by £5. Another reason for going to Bistro Pierre was to sound it out for our works xmas meal. Maybe it was just a bad time for us, but I wont be returning or recommending the place.
