Been going here for nearly thirty years.Tell me if there is a better indian in liverpool cos i havent found it!!.
Uni Restaurant – Liverpool City CentreThey have the best real homemade soup that i have ever tasted there, First class, well recommended.
Cranberrys Coffee Shop – SouthportThis place is a little gem. Great food and great atmosphere. Massive portions for bargain prices. Don't expect to be in there long, although you're not pressured to leave, the food comes mighty fast and you're in and out before u know it! Would definitely recommend.
Tokyou – Liverpool City CentreBeen to this restaurant two times, both times were great. The food was gorgeous, especially one waiter. He was so nice to me and my friend. one of the waiters lukd quite grumpy but still he was lovely. would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Zeera Tandoori – HeswallThis is a really nice chilled out place to eat or drink. It also does a good quality breakfast on Sundays. Best of all, I had my birthday party there recently and they provided a fantastic buffet for my 30 guests. "Best buffet I've ever had" was one comment. Great service and great value.
Sakara – AigburthI've dined here a few times now and have always found it to be good value for money. However, I've had a bad experience today. I found a hair on my plate. I discretely pointed it out to the waitress. Another waitress came back and said that although they would replace the meal, no-one in the kitchen had short blonde hair. In fact, the hair was dark brown/black. My hair is short blonde and she suggested it was one of mine. The hair was definitely not blonde and the guest I was dining with agreed with me. The waitress was quite rude. I think she thought I was trying to get a discount, which was most certainly not the case.
Bistro Jacques – Liverpool City CentreI think this is the best value restaurant on Lark Lane at the moment. Myself and my boyfriend ate there last week, they squeezed us in although we hadn't booked, the service was great, friendly but not in your face. The menu offers some familiar and not so familiar choices, it's not a huge choice but I think that means they know what they're doing with the ones they do have. There are 2 vegetarian choices on the main meals, and loads of starters you can order as a main as I did, they were fine with that and brought them at the same time as Mr Charlytune's mixed grill. That and a bottle of nice white wine came to £35 for the two of us. We left very happy and feeling like we were on holiday. Highly recommended.
Elif – AigburthI can't recommend this place highly enough! The food in here is such a great change from the usual chicken tikka massala. You need to book if you want to go at the weekend, unless you are going early. The decor is slightly worn, but the food is amazing! Fantastic selection of different breads, many of which I'd never had before going here, and a good selection of veggie meals. It's definitely not for after six pints on the way home! Make this your first stop!
Maharaja South Indian Restaurant – Liverpool City CentreWe went to The Monro for our 1st anniversary as we heard it had a great reputation. We were not disappointed, food was amazing, cooked to perfection and the staff were friendly. A perfect evening was rounded off with cocktails, we will definitely be visiting this place again!
The Monro – Liverpool City CentreMy boyfriend took me there for Xmas Eve lunch for the first time. Fantastic food and service was good. Starters I had a bowl of olives and garlic bread and main course Benedict Smoked Salmon,Asparagus,Spinch Poached Egg & Cream Sauce the BEST
The Quarter – Liverpool City CentreI recently went to the Tavern with my mum and we weren't impressed. The starter were nice we had potato skins and breaded mushrooms but are mains were not. Ihad the steak and my mum had the days special which was only can be described as a steak baguette. The total pice of my steak was 16pounds and it wasn't anythink special. We also found the restaurant rather dark and the music as well as our waitress loud. I am afraid i will not be returning to the Tavern for a meal in future.
Tavern Co – Wavertree1st impression brocken glass on the floor 2nd Very pour menu 3rd All the staff had absolutely no idea what the were doing except the bold fella , ( nice one mate!!!) 4rth our waiter seemed to be having a good time on SPEED his mouth is faster than his brain 5th we got our drinks 10 sec before we got our starters 6th I had a better steak in Afghanistan and a hobo could make a better carbonara 7th I like the Polish shefs but in Polish restaurants not in Italian What i'm saying is you need to hire some profetionals the place at the moment is i high risk worst than mc donalds
Bella Italia – Liverpool City CentreWent to Fraiche last year with 2 friends after saving up! We knew it wasn't going to be cheap but thought we would try it. At first when we entered the dining room we were a bit intimidated by the lack of people (only 3 others) but after a drink (very delicious champagne cocktail) we felt more comfortable. We had pre-ordered the sampler menu and were asked if there was anything we didn't like or allergic to. The chef had compiled a menu and we just got served the courses. First thing was very tiny and my friends and i made jokes about going to the chippy afterwards but it was very tasty. the following courses (maybe about 9 in total) were as delicious as the last! There were some very strange food combinations (parsley foam and parmesan ice cream, veloute with pink grapefruit and mussels and a taste of carrot for one of our desserts) but the flavours complimented each other very well. Everything was very balanced and nothing left any sort of aftertaste, instead they were more aromas (very cliche but you have to try it to believe it) By the end of the meal my stomach as so content. I was not too full but far from hungry. It was quite expensive (about £70 a head in total including tip) but well worth it. I know not everyone appreciates or even enjoys this kind of thing but my friends and I think that it was the tastiest meal we have had. Definitely a treat but well worth the money (we also got some yummy freebie caramelised nuts in a lovely presentation box to take homes!).
Fraiche Restaurant – OxtonHave been there a few times with groups of people and more private meals with my partner. I've always had a very positive experience. I find the food excellent and the staff very eager and helpful. Not the best location or best decor and layout but the food makes up for it.
Yiamas Greek Taverna – BirkenheadIf you don't mind 70's decor but love good, wholesome food then this is the place to go in St Helens. I have visited this place ever since I was a child and recently had a family get together there for lunch. I recommended this place to a couple of friends who now frequent the place every weekend. There is not a bad word to be said about the food here and the "early bird" menu is the best value for money you will ever find.
The Charcoal Grill – St.HelensFood is great, but the place could do with a price reduction, it's not cheap! On the weekends it fills up with older people who dress as though they are still 21, but it's a nice quiet place for lunch and for after work drinks through the week. The staff are friendly and not stuck up.
Schmooze Wine Bar and Eatery – Mossley HillI have finally found a place to eat in great surrounding and feel like I'm on holiday. We visited Mayur last week, for dinner after work with friends. Because of the warm weather we were able to dine outside in the square. The atmosphere is absolutely fantastic, and eating outside was definitely a huge bonus. The food is by far the best indian I have eaten in Liverpool and compares to the top restaurants in London. Service was very good and the waiting staff knew a lot about the menu. I ate the seabass which was perfect, just right for the warm weather. My friend does not really like curries, so ordered a couple of their grilled starters which were excellent. All in all - a great experience - deffo recommend it.
Mayur – Liverpool City CentreI have been to this restaurant on a number of occasions and never been disappointed. The care and detail taken by the staff is exceptional, only negative is the food arrives very quickly, you have only just finished your starter and your main course is there! Otherwise faultless
