Jacaranda – Liverpool City CentreIve been here a couple of times now, and haven? had a bad meal once. The food is fab and very good choice, i would recommend the fillet steak here, it is the best ive had in Liverpool yet. Atmosphere good and restaurant always busy which is always a good sign
Villa Romana – Liverpool City CentreGreat food, rather over-attentive service (waiters hovering constantly ready to whip your plate away!) but one of our favourite Indians. Food is always lovely. A bit pricier than some, but reflected in the food quality. You can take your own drinks too, which keeps the cost low.
Indira Tandoori Restaurant – HoylakeThis restaurant may be too expensive for most to visit often, however, as a special treat it is absolutely perfect! The food was amazing, with just the right amount of flavour combinations, and the service was incredibly attentive without being too pushy. I will definitely be visiting this restaurant again, probably as part of a larger group as I would not hesitate to recommend it!
60 Hope Street – Liverpool City CentreOur favourite restaurant since we used to live just around the corner, sadly we have now moved to London and will only be able to return occasionally, but we will return on visits home as the food is always exceptional. The food here is better than at Tony's (if anyone remembers that great place, now sadly closed down). Mostly older people in Julian's, but we are only in our 20's and we love it.
Julian’s Restaurant – HoylakeWe picked this restaurant because of the other reader reviews, and they are fully justified! It is very good indeed. Food is cooked with fresh herbs and spices, the portions are generous, and the service friendly and knowledgeable. The Goan Green Chicken is highly recommended. And we agree that the chutneys are excellent - the tamarind one is a must-try!
Light Of Bengal – AigburthMy favourite Indian restaurant in Liverpool. Great food really tasty, very attentive friendly staff and reasonably priced. Generally quiet, but its a nice clean restaurant where you can have a bit of privacy when eating as they have alcoved booths to sit at too.
Indian Delight – Liverpool City CentreI have been to the Chung Ku on several occasions, notably for my 40th birthday and my daughters 21st and have only ever encountered a couple of minor problems ( wrong food served and slow service when busy)however, i still rate it as the best chinese restaurant in liverpool or the north west.
Chung Ku – Liverpool City CentreDined with my family on Christmas day and as always the food and service were excellent, I had the venison Wellington which was the best i have ever tasted, full marks to Andy and the staff,10/10
Royal Hotel – WaterlooAt first thoughts I thought the restaurant itself was really nice although I? not really a fan of the open atmosphere it had, as I like a bit of privacy when eating out. However the food was really nice, service was good and efficient, and the prices are reasonable.
Mei Mei – Liverpool City CentreSapporo is such a special restaurant which u can't find it anywhere in Liverpool. it might be the reason they become so successful. Although the food in there is not so Japanese, especially on the Teppan-Yaki side. Most of the dishes are with the same based marinate. However, don't get me wrong, it tastes real good. At the bistro bar, they have a good range of liquor and sushi menu is very good. Fish are fresh, and the special Sapporo sushi is well worth the price. The ambience is good, but I would like it to be quieter, may be it is because we went there on Saturday. I have to say it is not the most romantic venue in Liverpool but for partying, I m sure u will have a fab time. The wine is reasonable, but the list not impressive. Generally, Sapporo is a westernised Japanese Restaurant with excellent staffs and ambient, suitable for European? taste bud.
Sapporo Teppanyaki Liverpool – Liverpool City CentreI have been living in Birkenhead now for 34 years and this is the beat Indian restaurant that I have been to. It offers excellent value for money and the food is always 2nd to none. It is sometimes hard to get hold of a table on the weekends so would recommend to book a table in advance. Would recommend this place always to my family and friends.
Ruhi Balti – Birkenheadthe food and ambience at Sakara alone should make it one of the top restaurants in the area.. the decor of beautiful dark wood floors and orange beaded lighting made me feel I was in Turkey or Morocco and the tapas of gorgeous food from around was delicious.. wonderful flavours in unexpected combinations
Sakara – AigburthAn absolutely brilliant place to chill out with friends. Chris was in his element as owner manager and genuinely loves his work. The bar selection is impressive and well run by Claire and Cora. The food choices are amazing and chef Mark an asset to the establishment.
Sakara – AigburthThe best Indian restaurant in Liverpool. There are loads of chutneys that come with the free popadoms and they are all amazing.
Light Of Bengal – AigburthWe live 5 minutes walk away and have enjoyed its unusual food and atmosphere since it opened. We?e come as a couple, brought friends for a quiet meal and even had a raucous night with a party from work. Every time, we have been treated to a welcoming, sophisticated, non intrusive atmosphere with a wide choice of tasty dishes. One comment on the works night out was ? have never had such a wide variety of tastes in one meal? Our recent favourites are the Oriental Lamb Cutlets (juicy lamb cutlets on egg noodles), the Seabass served with kedgeree style rice and Khamuns Mushrooms is a savoury dish of mushrooms in a birds nest contraption made of potatoes. The menu changes occasionally and we miss the Seared Steak with Sugar Snap peas (it was not for the squeamish - the steak was mouth wateringly red in the middle). Service is good and on the occasions we've waited we have been kept informed. I would recommend this place for those who want a regular restaurant or for those who like to notch up ?nteresting restaurants they have tried?
Sakara – AigburthWe have eaten here on several occasions, most recently New Years Eve, cannot recommend it highly enough. Food is always to the highest quality, as is the service. The restaurant itself is nicely set out, not smoky, clean and very smartly decorated. Children are also very welcome and catered for.
Red Fort – AigburthThis is in fact my second review. Earlier I'd complained about the coconut chutney with the Dosa. This time I told them beforehand and they came up trumps and had just the right consistency of coconut chutney with their dosa. Also gave me the extra helping of Samber! Recently in London, I ate at the Chennai Dosa, a chain in London. To be honest, I thought the Sambar of Maharaja was far superior to that served at Chennai Dosa. So Full marks on Samber chaps! Three slight niggles still - just to prove no bias - Chennai Dosa served the green and red chutney which is traditional with dosa's. But for some reason Maharaja did not do this. Also in the potato masala mix I believe it is traditional to put mustard seeds which were missing. Those three niggles aside, I think the Maharaja Dosa is very nice and overall better than that at the Chennai Dosa which also gets good comments. To be even-handed, I should add that Chennai Dosa only charge £2.40 for a masala dosa, while Maharaja charge like £6.50, but I think the Maharaja one is well worth it. So overall I'd give it a 7 to 8 out of 10, if they got the red/green chutney sorted, and the mustard seeds in the masala then I'd have given a 10/10. If you haven't yet tried a Dosa, then you must visit this place, you will not be disappointed.
