Julian’s Restaurant – HoylakeAnother enjoyable night at Ego, although no Monday freebie wine as it's Xmas, shame. Seabass just melted. Service very attentive, only comment a bit more black pudding in the starter would have been good.
Ego Mediterranean Restaurant – Liverpool City CentreWhat a fantastic place! Eaten here many times now, and it never fails to disappoint. Prices are comparable to those at any of the Dock restaurants, the food is spot on, and the environment is something else. This place never fails to impress.
Alma De Cuba – Liverpool City CentreWe love Mexican food, but whenever we have been to visit (usually midweek) the restaurant is very quiet, which can be great depending on whether you want a raucous night out or a quiet chat. The service was fantastic, and the food was beautiful, and aesthetically pleasing, but we did find it expensive in comparison to other restaurants. I think a meal for two was close to £45 without any desserts, and neither of us was drinking heavily as one was driving, and the other doesn't have the capacity! However, we have returned, and ultimately, the reason one goes is the quality of the food, but if it were cheaper we would be more regular visitors.
Fuegos – SouthportI arrived in Jalons on the 29th of November, cold winters night, to be greeted with a warm smile and hello by the young longhaired waiter for the evening. My husband and I had a brief chat with the waiter before he informed us that are table will be ready soon and have a drink at the bar, the bar like the restaurant was very busy for a Tuesday evening. We then sat down for are meal, the food was excellent crab claws and king prawns to start, followed by cod, and the fillet steak. My husband asked for the steak "blue?the fillet came and my husband was extremely pleased with the way the chef cooked and presented the meal. Again the young waiter was pleasant praising my husbands choice of how the fillet was cooked the presentation and attention to detail on the plate was very nice.. The music and the wine was now flowing. The waiters and waitress? were all working very hard but always smiling and asking is everything ok, we have been to Jalons last year and had a terrible meal service slow and food awful, but we came on a the advice of a friend who said the food has change and is now very nice. To which we found out last night. Thank you very much to the two male staff who served are food and to the drinks staff for leaving me with a very sore head today and to the kitchen staff nicest meal in a long time see you again. Thanks
Jalons – WavertreeAlthough we visit frequently throughout the year, our best visit is always our annual girly Christmas night! We usually get together Christmas week for a chill down evening of great food and copious amounts of wine. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to avoid the mayhem of Southport at Christmas
Fuegos – Southportexcellent food in a restaurant offering outstanding service. Desserts are the best i have tasted.
Pauls Place – Mossley HillThey charge more for very little food. Suitable if you are not hungry; main course after a long wait. But the food, decor and ambience are good.
60 Hope Street – Liverpool City CentreVisited this tucked away treasure last Wednesday. I had black bean burgers and my partner chose the bubble and squeak. Both came with a choice of salads. Food was lovely and with two presse drinks came to about £10. Portions were generous and I couldn't finish mine. Followed by two strong espressos. Really good choice of teas anc coffees. Much tastier than the meal we had at Ego the night before. Will definitely be going there again.
Blackburne House – Liverpool City CentreIf you've not been - try it! Cheap as chips and the food is better than some of Liverpools top restaurants. We heard about them from GQ magazine and thought we'd be wasting our time - we weren't - you won't find better so try it at least once.
The Monro – Liverpool City Centrevery good food ,service fine . no real attention from staff , had to try and get it . overall would try again to see if better
Damons – Mossley HillPerfectly acceptable food - particularly if you've had a few drinks! Have been here twice and was a bit under whelmed both times. My decision to return here says a lot of about the state of the other subcontinent inspired restaurants in Liverpool. Nevertheless, it is quite cheap and there were no problems with the quality of the meat etc. It's just a bit bland -food for people who think Chicken Tikka Massala is a staple part of the average Indian persons diet.
Master Chef Tandoori Restaurant – Liverpool City CentreHaving avoided Asian food in the UK due to the vast amounts of MSG, sugar and quality, I was amazed with Mei Mei's choice, pricing and taste! Very efficient service and friendly staff. Setting - normal circular tables, but good food and excellent service is all you need.
Mei Mei – Liverpool City CentreWe visited this restaurant on 02/9/05 when were visiting Liverpool for the weekend (we live in co Durham), we just jumped in a taxi on the Albert docks and asked him to take us to a nice Italian restaurant and he brought us here, we were impressed the second we walked through the door, there were no tables as we hadn? booked but we got sat round the pizza bar which looks onto a big oven in the shape of a big head and the mouth is where they cook the food, the service at this place was second to none and the food matched it, 10/10, we will definitely visit llfornos next time we are in Liverpool, we often talk about the meal we had there because nowhere can match it.
Il Forno – Liverpool City Centregood
The Warehouse Kitchen and Bar – SouthportThe Table dote menu was fantastic value and beautiful quality food and the main menu was outstanding. Well worth a visit!
Chez Moi Brasserie – SouthportService was excellent and the building itself is nice. The menu is varied and is not too expensive. It was however, overpriced for the quality of the food. They should either up the quality or lower the prices.
Alma De Cuba – Liverpool City CentreThere is a nice atmosphere here and the food is very good for the price. We had a really good night, if it was nearer to Liverpool we would probably go back again soon. We haven't tried lunch time specials but they are probably good too.
