Chez Gerard – CityMe and my husband and another couple visited London for the weekend and we found the swan this is a nice little pub and very good atmosphere the food was very good indeed and the beer was very nice it a nice little place to sit inside and out we visited there everyday when we was in London very good pub hope to visit again when we come next year
Swan, The – Bayswater and PaddingtonLocated within a row of shops at the heart of the City, Mehek's diners could be in for a surprise on their first visit. The doors lead to a glitzy bar covering almost half of the front portion of the restaurant before opening out to a considerable dining area at the back. Diners were, unsurprisingly, mostly City-types and the restaurant was busy even early in the week. Mehek's décor and atmosphere match the restaurant's clients - this is a sterile, clean, contemporary, luxurious and sophisticated city space. The main dining room features neutral colours with terracotta being predominant and ?orokas?(antique wooden panels) hanging on the walls. Mehek boasts an intriguing, well-crafted Indian menu that raises expectation. The starters are reasonably priced from £3 to £7, with main courses ranging from £7 to £15. Of most interest were the house specialities like Hash Hyderabadi (marinated duck with sesame seeds, coconut and peanut sauce). But the star of the evening was undoubtedly the Boro Chingri Pardanashi (top-drawer king prawns, £14.90, cooked in a mild curry and served inside a fresh coconut), with high standard breads and rice to accompany. An exceptional taste, this dish is highly recommended for seafood fans. Ordinarily, Indian restaurants are not known for their wine selections, but at Mehek, connoisseurs can select from a respectable menu ranging from £12 upwards. The 2003 Santa Isabel Argentinian Malbec, a snip at £17 a bottle, with deliciously fruity flavour complimented the spices of the food. A second, more extensive wine list is available on demand for those with corporate credit cards. With friendly and attentive staff, Mehek is a diverting experience in the Moorgate area. Whether you want to play it safe with familiar dishes or push the boat out and be a little adventurous, Mehek likely has the dish for you.
Mehek Restaurant and Bar – CityAmaya food was one of the best meals I have had as a traveller I vist lot of places and eat out a lot, this is definitely one of the best food ihave had. Every thing was cooked to perfection with different flavours the best was the osso bocco in tandoor and grouper fish in pandan leaf. would certainly visit again.
Amaya Restaurant – Belgravia and PimlicoThis is a venue with a wow factor, the ambience was amazing. My husband and I sat in the Chapel which was truly a magical experince, I would recommend Beach Blanket Babylon to anyone.
Beach Blanket Babylon – West LondonThis is a lovely little place overlooking Regents Canal in Little Venice - the view of the canal boats decorated with masses of flowerpots and fairy lights is gorgeous. I?e never eaten here in the evening, but the brunch and lunch menus are pretty good given the size of the (tiny) kitchen. From the road it doesn? look like much, but don? be put off - it? a little gem!
Cafe Laville – Bayswater and PaddingtonAroma is the place to go for chinese lovers who love a selection of food. You help yoursef to the large range of DELICIOUS food. The value for money is outstanding! The food is always hot, tastes devine and the selection of every dish you can think of is irrisistable! They also have deserts to die for and its eat as much as you like! a perfect night out with friends! not so good if your expecting a romantic meal though.
Aroma – West LondonExcellent food, excellent service and great atmosphere. . What more could you ask for when dining out. My wife and I really enjoyed everything about Tamarind and would highly recommend it to anyone that visits London; infact, we have recommended it to our co-workers and they have had the same experience as we have had.
Tamarind – MayfairHalf Moon nice place to meet. Food good, puddings excellent, booze cheap what more could ya want. Good place to take kids(if have any) for Sunday lunch. Saves cooking no washing up. Perfect.
Half Moon Theatre – East LondonBest Chinese in East London. Sunday Buffet wonderful, reasonably priced. Drinks bit pricey but hey who cares the food well makes up for it.
Sinh Le – East LondonThis place is the best Thai i have ever been to. It is excellent in every way. We never sit where we are offered, always move around - staff fine with it, very pleasant & always happy. The majority of visits we get recommendations from the waiter for our meal, and they always get it right. Excellent choices & great wine list. The bar is well organised, with many cocktails on offer! They have a fantastic menu, we always have a great time whenever we go....which is quiet regular! :o) I have recommended this restaurant to everyone we know!! You must go!
Elephant Royale Thai Restaurant – DocklandsI was taken here as a surprise for my birthday last xmas (2004) & I thoroughly enjoyed it. The decor was great, the atmosphere was calm & friendly. The staff saw to our every need & the food was excellent. The portions were big, but the waitress advised us accordingly on our appetite- & she was right - there massive!!! We'll definitely be going back!
Asia De Cuba – HolbornThe cost is pricey; but if you compare price vs the food+service, its a bargain. The food is sooooooooo yummy & the service is impeccable. Tamarind satisfies the craving for the real Indian food. Hence, no need to fly back to India. Love the friendly staff @ Tamarind. Wish all the restaurants learn how to prepare food likeTamarind does.
Tamarind – MayfairI AM A BUSINESS WOMAN WHO NEEDS TO TRAVEL FOR HER WORK. I HAVE TRIED SEVERAL INDIAN RESTAURANTS AROUND THE WORLD, BUT I CAN QUITE HONESTLY SAY THAT TAMARIND COMES OUT TOPS EVERY TIME. THE FOOD IS CONSISTENTLY EXCELLENT, AND THE PORTIONS ARE VERY GENEROUS. ITS ALWAYS PRESENTED BEAUTIFULLY, AND THE SPICES USED FRAGRANT THE FOOD TO AN EXTREMELY HIGH STANDARD. I AM ALWAYS FELT TO FEEL LIKE A VIP. I HAVE NOTICED ON MY TRIPS TO THIS RATHER SUAVE JOINT, THAT ALL AND SUNDRY ARE MADE TO FEEL AT HOME. THE WAITERS ARE PATIENT AND ARE ALWAYS AT HAND, BUT ALSO STAND AND KEEP THEIR DISTANCE WHEN THE SITUATION CALLS FOR IT. I AM ALL WAYS IMPRESSED WITH THE WINES AVAILABLE. THERE IS SOMETHING FOR EVERYBODYS PALLETT AND A WINE IS RECOMMENDED FOR EACH COURSE BY THEIR RATHER NICE SOMMELLIER. I HAVE HAD CHEAPER MEALS, IN CHEAPER RESTAURANTS. BUT, WHEN I AM IN LONDON, OR ENTERTAINING TO IMPRESS, TAMARIND IS TOPS. THEY DESERVER ALL THE ACCOLADES THEY DISPLAY IN THEIR RESTAURANT, AND EACH OF THE STAFF ARE OF THE HIGHEST CALIBRE AVAILABLE. EXCELLENT TAMARIND!
Tamarind – MayfairWe went here to have a celebration breakfast - i had just graduated, & we wanted a champagne style breakfast. The atmosphere was very french, we sat on the chairs they had outside in the sunshine, sipping champagne & a continental style breakfast. The service was very good, choice of food excellent, we'll be going back!
Cafe Rouge – DocklandsOne of our locals! On a sunny day you can sit outside, as it becomes cool they have the over head heaters that generate lots of heat, and inside is lovely too. Spacious dining, excellent food, a little disappointing on the wine list - we ordered a rather dodgy tasting bottle of wine!! Beware.... They have changed their menu recently too - and i have to say it's a lot better than before!!
Browns Restaurant and Bar – DocklandsOne of the first vegetarian restaurants to stray from the boring norm. Manna has been a treasured gem for years offering exciting and fresh, modern dishes. Good for kids and quite trendy.
Manna London – North LondonFunky local gastro pub with a good top shelf and wine list. Old pub retains its original features and has a lively atmosphere with a great bohemian crowd.
