We made our second visit here a couple of weeks ago and once again the food was fantastic and not at all over priced. I love the amazing black pudding in filo pastry starter!

Gibbon Bridge Hotel – LongridgeI often eat here, with friends, family and work colleagues and have never encountered any problems. The food is tasty, plentiful and affordable and the staff are equally as nice! I am going there tomorrow night for tea with friends and I can't wait!
The Alston – Longridgewe were fortunate to be able to secure this pub to cater for a wake following mums funeral in February 2012. The food was excellent: generous portions, delicious and served and cleared with the minimum of fuss (no mean feat given the number of persons inside the pub) . The staff were courteous and professional and could not do enough for all of our guests. I gladly recommend the whole team for the level of service and the atmosphere within. The natural surroundings outside cannot be overlooked either. An all round winner.
The Alston – LongridgeWe visited yesterday, and had a great lunch. Mickyboy has summed this hostelry up perfectly. The food is good home cooking taken up to very good, with an excellent selection in each part of the menu. Service was friendly and good. Well worth the visit.
The Dog and Partridge – LongridgeFantastic place! Amazing food, friendly staff, lovely atmosphere. Haven't found a better Indian restaurant yet!
Hamadan – LongridgeVisited the Alston Arms over the Christmas period. Food was excellent as always. Had Lamb Henry which was huge, very tasty also recommended was the cheese platter for the last course, cheese selection was lovely. Other party members had fish and chips and roasted cod all said they were very good. Lovely log fire, and good friendly service would definitely go again.
The Alston – Longridgetheir food is amazing. what more is there to say. Luigi and Barbara are both lovely as well everyone else who works there. i can honestly say i have never had better garlic mushrooms or chicken and sweetcorn pizza :D
Francos – LongridgeI went to franco's last week with my girlfriend it was a lovely time and will recommend here to all my clients and friends. Thanks for a great time. The staff were very friendly and the food was really good.
Francos – LongridgeWe dined at the newdrop for Sunday lunch,we wanted something special for my fathers 70th birthday. The service was excellent, the staff couldn't do enough for us e.g. lighting the cake, taking photos etc..and above all else the food was great! I would highly recommend this restaurant, and will certainly go again.
Newdrop Inn – Longridgei attended my cousins 50th birthday party their on the25th sep 2010 the food was excellent and the staff were great team workers i will be visiting again in the near future. brill top marks for everything !
Francos – LongridgeMy wife and I went for lunch here and can safely say it was one of the best meals we have ever had. The hotel is amazing with beautiful rooms, lovely gardens and Al Fresco dining areas so we will definitely be back, and even though we don't live very far away we will stay over next time!
Gibbon Bridge Hotel – LongridgeMy wife and I arrived at the Dog for lunch to celebrate her 50th birthday only to find that we were the only ones to have kept to our booking and not cancelled due to the weather !! Not deterred we had a 3 course meal off the lunchtime menu which gave us a great selection of starter, main and sweet (including choosing off the specials board if required). We both had the potted shrimps for starters. I had the roast pheasant which was superb. My wife had the baby leg of lamb which was huge and fell off the bone. For sweet we had a trifle and raspberrys with shortbread and cream. A couple of cups of coffee and mints ended what I can only describe as a fantastic meal. I use to live locally in the 90's and went to the Dog regularly. The place is just as as warm and friendly as I remember it to be and the quality of the food has remained the same. £17.95 each for a 3 course lunch, highly recommended !!!! We will be back again !!!
The Dog and Partridge – LongridgeWe were planning our wedding and contacted several places to make appointments to see them and discuss holding our wedding there. We knew where Ferraris was and that it was a beautiful location. We made an appointment to meet them and turned up on time. There was nobody on reception although there were 2 people setting the tables in the room next door and in full view of us. We waited for 10 minutes before one of them came over and asked what we wanted. When we explained that we had an appointment to see their wedding advisor we were told to sit down and wait. No offer was made of a drink or anything else. It was another 20 minutes before the owner turned up. She made no apology for being 30 minutes late and gave the impression that we were wasting her time. She briefly showed us the wedding reception room and then made it quite obvious that we had outstayed our welcome. No offer was made to show us the rest of the hotel. When we were leaving we noticed a leaflet by the front door promoting a wedding fayre 2 days later. Nobody mentioned this to us at all. It would have been an ideal opportunity to discuss it. When outside we walked round the gardens and found a big pile of sick by the front door that had not been cleaned up. The whole experience was extremely off putting. It is a shame as the hotel is in a lovely location. It is simply let down by the attitude of the owner and staff. We did not feel that they would care about us enough to make our wedding day special.
Ferrari’s Country House Hotel and Restaurant – LongridgeI have been to the New Drop several times to lunch with relatives. While they love the place, I have to say the menu hasn't changed over the years and it would be nice if they could add some new dishes. Also more green vegetables with the main course would be nice.
Newdrop Inn – LongridgeLovely food lovely views delightful staff lovely open fires on a cold Saturday night in January and a real buzz of voices! Marvellous.
Newdrop Inn – LongridgeI am having a family meal there soon for a celebration - booked because an evening that my partner and I spent there. The food was very good, nice and fresh, and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. This is a friendly restaurant with a family feel and I highly recommend it.
Francos – LongridgeVisited on a Friday lunch, despite being full of the more mature set, its well worth a visit. We where greeted by a roaring log fire whilst we choose our lunch from the menu. Hubby opted for the black pudding, myself for the potted shrimps, both were excellent and complemented by very attentive service. Main course of partridge and rabbit pie followed again both excellent and given the price not tiny portions. Would definitely visit but remember to book
Gibbon Bridge Hotel – LongridgeWe were most impressed with the high quality of the food. 3 course Sunday lunch with coffee at only £10.50 was a bargain to say the least. No pingping meals here - definitely home cooked fayre with imagination. I agree that the decor is traditional, but the food was exceptional, service was very prompt and the well maintained grounds beautiful. The function room was nice and cosy. We were so impressed that we've booked to get married there.
