Good tasty food, friendly efficient service despite the pub being very busy. Will return
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonA minor problem with our booking was quickly and efficiently dealt with. The pub was busy bu the service speedy and friendly. We both enjoyed a tasty Sunday roast with freshly cooked vegetables.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonGreat food served promptly at a good price. Drinks a bit pricey. Quirky pub. Would recommend & we will visit again.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonReserved a table for Sunday lunch and arrived early, preferring to sit in the sunny garden. This was fine and very dog friendly. The staff were friendly and accommodating. My daughter had a roast chicken dinner with freshly cooked vegetables and enjoyed it, taking the spare chicken home for a sandwich later ( large portion). I had the salmon special but had to return the salmon as it was cold and uncooked in the middle. It was replaced with good grace. Good atmosphere.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonAs always the food was very good and, despite being very busy, the staff very pleasant and cheerful. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone looking for a good pub lunch. haven't yet tried an evening meal but by all accounts it is worth a visit.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonWe were staying at Hurst View Campsite and had a lovely early evening walk to The Chequers Inn for dinner. The welcome was warm and the Sauvignon Blanc I chose was very good. The beer was a well kept draught beer. Both our meals were hot and tasty. My husband had a burger and really enjoyed his pudding of syrup sponge and custard. My cod and chips was very good but not sure that the cheesecake was up to the same standard sadly. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonWe booked a table for 6 people and had a good meal. Staff were friendly. We would return. Menu fine but a couple more vegetarian dishes would be nice.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonWe booked a table 2 weeks before our visit and were assured from the information given by the Chequers Inn that it was dog friendly, however when we arrived we were told that we would be sitting out in the marquee. It was devoid of the pub atmosphere, sitting at basic tables with a huge TV screen showing rugby. We had no choice but to accept this table. It was not what I had hoped for, that is, a nice Inn with atmosphere and good food. I would avoid it if I visited the area again.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonMy husband and I are here on a visit from Australia staying in Lymington with family members. I booked a table for 6 from Australia for a reunion with friends. We all had a delicious meal and the service was excellent. I would throughly recommend Chequers.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonLovely Rump steak & Ham egg & chips , highly recommended this place , we were staying at hurst view campsite so a nice 15min walk .
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonFantastic country pub food. Super attentive staff. Warm atmosphere, pub was able to cater for everyone, and uses the outside areas well. Very good value for money in this day and age. Highly Recommended.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonWe went here for a meal on our last night of our holiday. We didn't have to wait long for our food after we had ordered it. The food was hot and very nice. The batter on the fish and chips was really tasty and the fish was light and fluffy and good size piece. The scampi was nice and succulent and plenty of it.The chicken goujons were a good size and plenty of them. Staff were polite and friendly. We will definitely be going back when we are next down on holiday.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonWe were a party of 6 for Sunday lunch, 5 roasties and a burger, Burger was voted delicious, my roast lamb was nice plenty of it, veg was good broccoli and carrots weren't over cooked, always a big fear of mine, the red cabbage would have been even nicer with some additional seasoning, cranberry or balsamic, the biggest disappointment were the roast potatoes, the variety used were too waxy, hadn't been par boiled long enough if at all so no crispness to the outside and no fluffyness to the inside. (I trained as a chef, I know my spuds!haha) Having said this our party enjoyed the venue and excellent service and will be back to try other dishes from the menu.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonLovely pub. Good food, fair prices and friendly staff. Unchanged since we last went years back
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonWe were very pleased with our dinner here as new to the area - there was a pleasant buzz on a Friday night and a nice reserved table waiting for us as it was a little windy to eat outside We chose fresh Moules as a starter which were tasty and tender served in a creamy sauce followed by fish pie , one of the specials for the day with fresh veg on the side Service was friendly and helpful Thankyou
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonHaving moved to the area recently we had been recommended the Chequers. We tried it yesterday and were not disappointed. We will be eating there again.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonReally nice pub, traditional pub food cooked really well. I would recommend the chicken in mushroom and stilton sauce as well as the homemade soup. Very friendly staff. Good beers and soft drink selection.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonFriendly welcome, great service and food. Huge portions! We love the inside of the pub and there is a pretty garden. We always look forward to coming here.
