Trattoria Baci – LymmSo pleased that old farmers arms i going to be a New Marco marco restaurant .If it is half as good as their Northwich restaurant it will be awesome. Cant wait think its opening at end of January 2012
Marco Marco – LymmHave had family gatherings on many occasions at Willowpool. This is one of my fave places to eat and just BE! Think we have gone through the menu from beginning to end at one stage or another. Can say we have never had a bad experience eating at Willowpool, the service can be a bit slow if they are busy, just be prepared for that and you wont be disappointed. The food is served on delightful crockery, must say love toasted snacks, jacket potatoes, Sunday lunches, Dutch meat balls, but desserts are by far the must haves {be prepared as one if often enough for two} The outside eating has got to be experienced in the thatched gazebo's with heated lamps. Christmas inside the tea room is magical, i have never been any where that has delighted me so much at this time of year, with it's ceiling just dripping CHRISTMAS! So folks that's just the tea rooms. The whole Willowpool experience is for me is unbeatable, some people have said " one of the strangest places I have been" For me " the most magical" I shall be visiting over the Christmas period many time's as I am addicted. have convinced my Grandchildren Fairies live there. ENJOY!
Willow Pool – LymmHaving never tried Turkish food before I booked a table at Flavours to celebrate my birthday with friends as I'd heard good things about this restaurant. From the very beginning Fikret and Jim looked after us brilliantly and were not at all phased by curious women wanting to try everything. And we were not disappointed. The food was delicious and plentiful. There was not a crumb left on any of our plates either and that doesn't usually happen with four women! I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough - and thank you to Sally who suggested I try it in the first place. As the birthday girl I was also given a complimentary cocktail and balloons which was a complete surprise (and a lovely touch). The bonus feature is that they also do take away! I will be going back!!!
Flavours – Lymmhave been four or five times previously and always enjoyed it, good food and service. However, today, for the first time we went for Sunday lunch. The menu said, two courses, glass of proscetto and bottle house wine between 2, £21.95. We thought 'great value' and ordered. So when the bill arrived we were shocked to see it was nearly £50. We questioned this and were told it was per person, tho' nowhere did it mention this!!! We asked to speak to the manager, who had left for the day. The waitress in charge telephoned him, allowed us to pay £24.95 and BANNED us from attending again!!!! We're 50, and educated, they refused to let us bring a menu away, stating it was on-line, it isn't! I think they realise it is misleading, so if you go, BEWARE!!!
Cafe Salar – LymmReally enjoyed it, very attentive staff, manager mucked in serving too, felt welcome, drinks fabulous big fan of cocktails!! Porn star fave, with passion fruit, vanilla vodka and champagne shooter comes on side! Nice beers for boys too, estralla and peroni a fave with him. Sat at bar, nice mix of people, will try food next time.
Cafe Salar – LymmVERY DISAPPOINTING I ate here with a group of friends recently and was not impressed. The food was expensive and poor quality. The risotto had to be returned as it was lukewarm and the lamb kebab was gristly. My meal was the mackerel, undercooked and served with tasteless asparagus and an unpleasant potato salad that had been around for a while by the look of it. Would not recommend
Cafe Salar – Lymmi have been quite a few times to cafe salar and enjoyed both the ambeince and the food mike was very friendly , one Sunday afternoon my friend and i called in a guy was playing music he was really great on his sax...we were a bit down in the dumps but when we were there we thought we were on our hols wish we had one of these cafes in warrington town... want to make the next joe longthorne show missed the last one , highly recommend this cafe
Cafe Salar – LymmI would recommend cafe salar. Called in today (sun) with my daughter and her friend and it was a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Only had a drink and some fries today but will be going back at some point for "proper" food. Penny Mac was singing and she is brilliant. She also played the flute and violin. All round entertainer.
Cafe Salar – LymmI would recommend Cafe Salar to anyone liking good food and a great evening out. My first visit was on Monday, attending to see Joe Longthorne perform... Lymm village itself is quite impressive and the restaurant was very easy to find along with a parking space along the road. First impressions on walking through the front door were of class and warmth, reminded me of being on the Algarve with the decor and ambiance. Excellent service from all the staff and excellent food, I am not a food connoisseur but I would rate the fillet steak as being extremely tasty and cooked to perfection along with all four courses. The manager and staff ensured that everyone was served and serviced to their requirements and, in a nutshell, I would happily give them 5 stars in a good food guide. The evening was perfect, Joe Longthorne performed to his customary genius and class to a very satisfied and appreciative audience. I go to see Joe sing quite often and can easily rate his performance at cafe Salar as sheer perfection, he left the restaurant with everyone well satisfied. I look forward to his return to the restaurant in may but will make a point of popping into Cafe Salar for a lunch time meal if i am passing on the m6 as it is ideally located just a few moments from the m56/m6 junction. The menu is very well priced and offers excellent value for money, thank you cafe Salar for a first class evening on mon 28th feb.
Cafe Salar – LymmThe owner of this establishment MICHEAL CONNETT is appauling to his staff and shows no regard for their circumstances or welfare. He cheats them out of tips, doesn't pay wages on time, when he does finally pay he short changes them, he speaks to staff members with zero respect and is in debt up to his eyeballs for the business. Please do not work for this man, he changes staff more often than his shirts and then makes up untrue stories about them so people thing he's been misstreated when in fact he's the one who is misstreating his staff!
Cafe Salar – LymmDid not live up to expectations. Food seemed to be reheated (maybe micro). Service was not good. Won't visiting again. Try the Terrace opposite - so much better.
Cafe Salar – LymmMyself and my husband decided to go to for drinks and a meal at Cafe Salar recently. It was absolutely amazing. We had a magical night to remember. Everything was perfect; the service, the food was amazing, as were the cocktails and the atmosphere. We felt as though we were dining out in the med! The owner even asked how we were enjoying our evening. Unbeatable! We will be back very soon. I have recommended this first class cocktail bar/restaurant to all my friends and family. The prices were reasonable too. Thank you to all at Cafe Salar - brilliant and outstanding!
Cafe Salar – LymmCafe Salar - what can I say? In a word...Faultless! staff are the most friendly and relaxed professionals you will meet in the trade - obviously hand-picked by an experienced hand. great ambience. Food and drink quality? really second to none; and the price: is right!
Cafe Salar – LymmOverpriced, cheap food, cheap ingredients, terrible service and my only guess is the previous reviews were written by themselves. It's not Spanish, not in the slightest. The menu, pub grub, cooked very well but lacking the taste of good ingredients. The wine, picked up in your local Asda as the cheapest wine they sell, sold you you at 200% markup - you'll have a hangover tomorrow. "Are you Salar?" No, I'm not a cretin without style or taste thank you.
Cafe Salar – LymmVery disappointing 2nd visit. No chilled sauvignon blanc so opted for another choice. We went for dinner and although the restaurant wasn't very busy - we were served 2 courses within 45 mins - OK for lunchtime but we felt very rushed. Food was good although the mains options are very limited at the moment. Customers (as of last week) were still being asked to pay cash as the payment system/line was not operational. One of the starters was missed off the bill until we pointed this out to staff. I'd go again for breakfast or lunch but not during the evening.
Cafe Salar – LymmFood was gorgeous and the cocktails are amazing!!! i even met max beesley there!
Cafe Salar – LymmWe've been twice to Cafe Salar, once in the evening as a couple & once on a sunday day as a family with two small children. Both times were fantastic! The best Mojitos outside Cuba & the steaks are to die for!!! Try the tiramusu cocktail instead of a dessert or the black forest cocktail (which my Husband chose & loved!) The staff are so friendly and helpful without being intrusive. We can't recommend this place enough! A London standard restaurant without the London prices (£3.50 for a large glass of wine!) & a breath of fresh air for Lymm!!!
