Cafe Salar – LymmExcellent coffee, warm welcome and friendly staff, nice relaxing atmosphere, welcome to Lymm.
Cafe Salar – LymmOnly just opened so we went to have a look on Saturday morning. Decor looks fantastic and great that the windows open out with some outside seating. Breakfast selection was fantastic - quality & presentation. Excellent service and ambience. Booked for my birthday next week and can't wait as the Dinner options looks great too!
Cafe Salar – LymmVery disappointed in the menu, lack of imagination, lack of fresh local produce, too much reliance on bought in frozen produce, Staff friendly to the point of intrusion.need to find a happy medium in between ignoring and intrusion, I must have been asked by every member of staff if I was OK, thus was unable to relax., topped off by the Aussie waiter who wanted to talk about the weather when all I wanted to do was get a mouthful of food into my mouth to chew before U had to answer if I was OK or not. The venue has a WOW factor, but the food has not...Minted peas with frozen fish goujons and Mcdonald style fries fries.!!! Frozen tuna on the Tuna Niscoise, no anchovies. Maybe it is because I have spent 40 years in the catering trade, but I really hoped we could this time have had a restaurant with the WOW factor in Lymm, , we really do need one. Otherwise it is back to HOME at little Bollington for fresh cooked local produce for £5 for two courses......FANTASTIC
Cafe Salar – LymmI've been here three times as have my parents, and think it's great for people of all ages. Great food, service and atmosphere. Cocktails very good too, maybe not a good idea to drink the whole list in one sitting!
Cafe Salar – LymmOwned by conman DO NOT VISIT THIS PLACE
Cafe Salar – LymmFantastic crowd, great cocktails, good food. We had a ball.
Cafe Salar – Lymmthe best thing that's come to lymm for a long time. I cant recommend it enough.
Cafe Salar – LymmI went with my son to show my Canadian daughter-in law how quirky we English can be!!. We ate off the special Sunday menu and were not disappointed. Having been several times before friends and I have always enjoyed on the varied menu and because of the variety my daughter -in -law who is wheat intolerant was find to more than one choice with a little adaptation and help from the kitchen,.One little moan ....I know you were busy Easter Sunday but despite asking again I never got my coffee after a 35 minute wait we left - from table 2 I could see it being made !!! But I will come again I like it too much not to.
Willow Pool – Lymmbrilliant service, excellent food at amazingly competitive prices. Fun atmosphere. I've been going for many years, and its always been consistently up to high standards. very recommended!
Trattoria Baci – LymmExcellent food and service, great atmosphere I would highly recommend Baci
Trattoria Baci – LymmI have been to lot of Indian restaurants but the Sahib is the one for me. The cousin is perfect as it is very authentic as Indian's have their food at their own home. Can't fault the service as they are very polite and pleasant. I would recommend this restaurant to anybody.
Sahib Indian Restaurant – Lymmme and my partner visited Sahib for our anniversary in march, when we arrived, there was loud r&b music playing, which automatically spoilt our evening. when our meal came, it was not up to scratch. there was raisins in my chicken korma.. however they managed to make poppadoms correctly.. (clever chef eh.) After this, my partner kindly asked the waiter if he could place the wine lid back on our bottle as we had had enough and we wanted to take the bottle home with us. we then watched the arrogant waiter take our lid off our wine bottle out of the bin and place it on our bottle, i found this appalling...as would any other human being. on our way out of the restaurant, after refusing to pay for the spoilt bottle of wine, we began to leave the restaurant, while the manager and the cocky waiter smirked and watched.
Sahib Indian Restaurant – LymmVisited the spread eagle last Sunday , my starter of meatballs were utterly delicious followed by a mouth-watering roast lamb dinner. it was that good we had to go again on Thursday, this time it was prawn cocktail and to follow was the most delicious fillet steak with Diane sauce that was amazing ,i enjoyed every mouthful. the waitresses were very friendly, polite and efficient. cant wait for our next visit well done to the spread eagle!!!
Spread Eagle Hotel – LymmI would heartily recommend this deli. Sit in and enjoy delicious lunches...the Italian platter is superb, as is the homemade liver pate. Cakes re sublime. What a gem!
I visited the Chilli Club on a Monday evening so it was a relatively quiet night there but there were still quite a few people in which surprised me for a Monday evening. But then once I had been there for a few minutes I could see why. The smell of Thailand hits you as soon as you walk in to the restaurant which brought back some lovely memories for me! The staff were very attentive and instead of escorting us to a table, they let us pick where we would like to sit in the restaurant. The decor is very authentic with bit Thai cushions on the seats and lots of Thai art dotted around. The menu is extensive, so much so, it took us a while to choose! They also have some very good specials - we had the chicken wrapped in pandan leaves as one of our starters which was a special and this was a very nice change and tasted delicious! The Pad Thai is almost as good as you get in Thailand (only problem is the prawns are not the size of snakes like they are in Thailand!!!), and we also had Chicken in Garlic and Pepper with sticky steamed rice - all tasted delicious and just took me straight back to Thailand with every bite! The prices are also very reasonable for this country (as long as you don't expect Thai prices! :) ). We paid £50 for wine, 2 starters, 2 mains and accompaniments and coffees, which we found very reasonable. The food is delicious, service very attentive and a very good atmosphere. I would like to go back at the weekend when the place will no doubt be buzzing - I would imagine booking is required at weekends as it must get very busy. Also one thing to note - the staff really appreciate a little Sawadee Car or a Kop Khun Car (spelling is probably way off but you get the picture!) and a little bow when you leave.
Chilli Club – LymmThis must be the best kept secret. This is a garden centre of sorts. There is everything here. Old victorian "Prams" to new "Antiques" A lake with ducks. Its brilliant. After walking round dine "Alfresco" in one of the old showmans stalls, double glazed and heated by a patio heater, or in one of the " niches" for 4 also heated. The starters range from £4.35 to £4.95 smoked salmon cornucopie or black pudding "Tian" Try the "Barni" a Dutch/indonesian dish with noodles "Barni" or " Nasi" rice. its absolutely great. The servings are Ginormous the dutch sausage (3) was a great plateful. Unfortunatley only wine is served no beer. Sunday lunch available on Sundays only. Puddings are a bit expensive. I would imagine you have to get in here early & even earlier in summer. Its "Brilliant"
Willow Pool – LymmI have lived in Lymm since 1991 & Baci is the best restaurant in the village. It has a great atmosphere, the staff are very attentive & they all have a sense of humour. Get there early if you have children - the kids love the balloons & crayons but come about 8pm the clientele changes from families with children to an older more sophisticated group. The place is always busy & I'd thoroughly recommend the food & the restaurant.
