On our first visit to Lytham we called in at Whispers and have hardly been out of the place since. The food is wonderful and the staff are all lovely. We will continue to eat there at least once a week.
Whispers – Lytham
Away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, Lytham holds essential ingredients. The Windmill, Lytham Green, Lytham Hall and the River Ribble estuary overlooking the Welsh mountains are all worthy of a postcard. A host of up-market restaurants will tickle your tastebuds.

Whispers – LythamWe visited Lytham today and were looking for somewhere pleasant to eat when we noticed Bosco. Although we only had a very light lunch, it was very very nice and the waitress, Emily, was so pleasant and helpful - it was an absolute pleasure to eat and drink there - outside in the sunshine. We shall certainly return when we next visit Lytham.
Bosco – LythamI joined a few friends last Friday for afternoon tea. We were celebrating Mrs Mary Morris' 100th birthday. We had a first class table overlooking Lytham Green. The selection of sandwiches, scones, cakes etc was excellent and plentiful and the staff very courteous and attentive. I would certainly recommend this venue.
Clifton Arms Hotel – LythamEnjoyed a great takeaway from the Red Fort last night.
Red Fort – LythamI've just read all the excellent comments about The Red Fort and sort of feel reluctant to give my comments now. The staff were very friendly and attentive and service was good. Now we do like a lively restaurant but i have to say that on the night we visted for the first time it was honestly beyond lively it was positively rowdy. We couldn't hear each other and kids were throwing some sort of jelly things accross the placeand one hit me on the neck. This isn't what we came in for with friends on a saturday night, it wasn't early either, this was all evening from 8pm, I thought the food was only ok too. We eat regularly at the sister restaurant Mogul in St Annes and that's where we will be sticking to in the future, far superior.
Red Fort – LythamBirthday meal here last night. Nice welcoming atmosphere with the weather so grim outside. Ashamed to say I had one of their oversized Rustica pizzas. ''Twas very good though.
Bosco – LythamWhat a find - lovely Italian food and wine that you won't find elsewhere in the area.
Novello – LythamI took my mother and family to the Clifton Arms in Lytham for an early Mothers Day afternoon tea. We had lovely comfy seats in the main lounge area and we were well attended by the staff. A good selection of sandwiches, scones and assorted treats. We opted for the extra glass of champagne. Mother really enjoyed it which is the main thing. I think there could have been a bit more food, however I would recommend the experience.
Clifton Arms Hotel – LythamMy wife and I were very impressed with Mohshinas. I was desperate for the loo on entering and my first impressions were how clean the place was. They have a 5 star rating for hygiene and it shows. The place is intimate and cosy with out about 10 tables and that is why the service and food is so good. The standout thing about the food was how fresh it was, the garlic roti and curries. The owner is a nice guy and seems to know everyone's name. We will return and will recommend it as a superior Indian restaurant. One of the best we have been to.
Mohshinas Indian Restaurant – LythamHad a late afternoon meal; pasta dish for my partner and a gourmet burger for me. Excellent service and first rate food, with a bill including coffee and sparkling water of £25. First rate: the pasta was one of the best my partner has tasted.
Whispers – LythamCurrys should be ordered and eaten in Curry houses. However the Spoons rubies are pleasant and well priced at £6.95 inc a pint of your favourite beer (Moorhouses for me). I am ever so slightly converted to the Spoons curry night.
The Railway Hotel – LythamWe love Roti for our lunch. It is near where we work and we are always happy with our choices! :)
Le Roti – LythamA group of us went to Spago on Saturday night for a friend’s birthday and had the lovely big table in the window. Food was best yet, waiters friendly making a fuss of the birthday girl but sadly they were desperately under-staffed for a busy Saturday night. Took forever for them to take the initial order, then both the starters and the mains arrived staggered which was not great and drinks and coffee orders were taken and never materialized. The host was mightily embarrassed and complained to the manager who to be fair knocked a fair slice off the bill. He dealt with the complaint in a professional manner which will ensure that we all go back. But I just hope Spago can sort out the staffing issues in the interim.
Spago Lytham – LythamWe went here last night for Valentine's Day. We were seated in a quiet room upstairs. It was very busy in the restaurant but service was very good and we had the set menu. The food was superb , we had a sharing platter to start of antipasto. My partner had rib eye steak and I the sea bass. The dessert was a sharing dish of strawberrys and chocolate. The house wine was reasonably priced. We will definitely return here again.
Portofino – LythamValentines day turned into disappointment eating at 88 service poor, food not much better and no Billy to welcome customers. No hand wipes no knife. Toilets cold. Asked for an alternative rice on set menus told would be changed more but not charged less when did not have dessert . Felt senior waitress was rude and abrupt. Will not be going back not recommended
Eighty Eight Chinese Restaurant – LythamWe really enjoyed our meal last Thursday. A nice quiet seat in the corner with a decent bottle of house red. Chorizo with red wine as a shared starter and a chicken kebab (was kebab Thursday offer) and chicken Supreme. All were good as was the polite and unobtrusive service.
Ego Mediterranean Restaurant – LythamOne of the lights went out and the waitresses were Liverpudlians. The Earl Grey was horrible, I blame the cafe. The chocolate fudge cake was atrocious but apart from that I loved it.
Coffee Bean, The – LythamAs I am from London I didn't now where to go to get something to eat, ended up at whispers. My family and I had an amazing meal including wine and coffee. Service excellent staff are very friendly and polite. Well recommended. The lamb shank was ace! Will definitely return.
