The best restaurant in lytham by far, I went on a Saturday night and had a wonderful evening. The food was delicious, the service was friendly what more can you want. I'm definitely going back there again.
Novello – Lytham
Away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, Lytham holds essential ingredients. The Windmill, Lytham Green, Lytham Hall and the River Ribble estuary overlooking the Welsh mountains are all worthy of a postcard. A host of up-market restaurants will tickle your tastebuds.

Novello – LythamOn the contrary, I do not want to recommend Novello to anybody. From the second we walked in, until the second we walked out, it was an altogether unpleasant evening. Perhaps it was the attitude of our fellow diners, or the arrogance of the owner, but we felt many were hostile towards us as we had never dined there before and were obviously not from Lytham. The food was average, the table was tiny and the bill was extortionate. I will never dine there again, and I believe it was only our pride that paid the bill that night for it certainly wasn't the food, the service or the overall experience. Avoid.
Novello – LythamI visited the Red Fort on 23rd October and the restaurant was busy. Nonetheless service was speedy but not rushed and the staff were attentive to customer needs. The menu was varied and well explained so that a new customer to the cuisine would be able to make an informed choice. Having had a starter, main course with nan bread and 3 drinks, the total bill was very reasonable. i would certainly take friends and family there for a meal and would recommend Red Fort to anyone.
Red Fort – LythamHad lunch at the station at the weekend and enjoyed what has to be the best steak and ale pie I have ever tasted in a pub. Plenty of lean and tender beef with just the right amount of pastry and triple-cooked chips. I'm surprised there weren't more people eating there to be honest because it's the best pub food in Lytham. My missus had gammon which could have benefited from some peas as she resorted to trying to steal mine. Will keep returning till I've got through the menu.
Station Pub and Grill – LythamHi all, I recently went to Portofinos in Lytham for a meal with my family, we had a great time, lovely atmosphere, fantastic fresh food and good attentive service. We will definitely return and recommend it to others in the meantime.
Portofino – LythamLovely food, I had Sur'n'turf pasta, but for £11.50 I got 6 small pieces of steak and 2 king prawns.
Novello – LythamWhat a complete load of rubbish, there is no way this restaurant is in top ten of best chippy's of the UK, more like bottom ten. My family and I were looking forward to a nice fish and chips dinner and what we got was a tiny goldfish and a few gritty chips. Lady who served us had a right gob on her and the vinegar was put on the table after we had nearly finished. Very poor service and yucky overpriced dinners.
Seniors – LythamI note that you forward complaints to the restaurants and if you would do this with my comment, I would welcome that. Like all the readers comment on your website I would agree with everything that has been said about the food. Everything is delicious: the pizza are lovely and the pasta dishes are truly wonderful. The chilli and king prawn pasta is my favorite. But..................we went last night as a family: two adults and two children (five and eight). We got there at 6.15 and it took exactly an hour for our starters to arrive on the table. I did complain about the length of wait when we paid our bill and the owner explained they had been busy with theatre goers who had to be served quickly. Perhaps someone could have either a) let us know there would be a long wait for food when we arrived b) informed of the delay as we waited c) informed of us the delay as we waited and given us our garlic bread we ordered to try to pacify two small, hungry, impatient children. Not happy: have recommended this restaurant to several people and felt I was given the brush off
Bosco – LythamI'm sorry to say my family and I (10), celebrating a birthday, on a Monday evening, were not impressed at all with service or food. It was over 80 minutes before our order was taken. Champagne was ordered, but not served till the starters had arrived, not as an aperitif as required. The medium/rare steaks were still breathing and the quality of meat wasn't good. Overall, bad service and poor food spoilt what should have been a lovely evening. We were offered a considerable reduction to the bill but I'm sorry the evening had already been ruined.
Ego Mediterranean Restaurant – LythamMain courses we had were 'Zalzala Chicken' and 'Tropical Birani' - both were fantastic, subtly spiced and full of flavour. We first visited this restaurant in August 2009, and now again on our annual golfing visit to Lytham. A meal at the Red Fort Moghul is an absolute MUST!!!
Red Fort – LythamA group of 8 of us had a great meal!
Whelans – LythamI would never go again. Rude, arrogant and unhygienic. The food was average I cannot believe the previous reviewer was real. I have read 3 other reviews now and they all concur with mine.
Fancy That – LythamWe booked a table here for 8.30pm to 8.45pm. When we arrived we were told that there would be an hour's wait. Not good enough really...why accept the booking then give the table away?
Novello – LythamThe Redfort is more than just an Indian Restaurant - it is an experience. Having visited this venue for many years, I can honestly say that the food is amazing. The blend of spices, each dish representing a cultural experience - from the delicate infusion, right up to the Naga infused lamb dishes to titilate the palete, with just the right amount of heat, and then the delcate flavour of the Korma or tandoori dish for those of us who prefer something less dramatic. The staff are amazing as well, ever ready to suggest a dish to suit the diner, each member of staff having knowledge of each dish on the menu, to take you through the dining experience and leave you in no doubt at all as to where your taste buds rest. You will return again and again, if only to work through the amazing menu, each dish offering a different experience. Relax in the beautiful surroundings that this restaurant offers, so different to the usual "indian" experience. When they say it is the essence of contemporary Eastern Spice they really mean it - because it really is!
Red Fort – LythamWent here last night for a meal and thoroughly enjoyed it - the food was simply delicious and clearly 'home-made' in house, no fear of finding anything out of a packet! My husband and I shared our starters of mussels with the creamiest of broths and fresh calamari - both so good we could have eaten them all over again afterwards but needed to save space for the mains. I had chili and tomato spaghetti with king prawns which again tasted really fresh and hubbie had a calzone absolutely stuffed full of meat which he loved and served with a lovely side-salad. To finish we both had the chocolate fudge sundae - truly yummy. All in all a real treat, the atmosphere and service were both fine and prices good also - definitely recommended!
Bosco – LythamWent here on my birthday recently along with my partner. Ate upstairs, decor bright & modern, attentive service but most importantly the food was great. For once my pasta was cooked 'al dente' not the usual English boiled to death way. My partner's fillet steak was good quality meat & cooked as requested (although a bit too pricey). The menu was imaginative & not just your bog standard Italian. Afterwards we went to the bar downstairs for a couple of cocktails & although it was only a Wednesday, it was buzzing! Would definitely recommend & will def be returning.
Portofino – LythamTHIS HAS TO BE ONE OF THE WORST DINING EXPERIENCES I HAVE EVER ENDURED!! IT WAS REMINISCENT OF FAWLTY TOWERS WITHOUT THE GOOD SCRIPT. THE MANAGER WAS SULLEN AND THE VERY YOUNG WAITRESS GIRLS INARTICULATE. WE HAD TO FIND OUR OWN TABLE AND SCRATCH AROUND FOR A MENU. A STAGGERING 90 MINUTES LATER COLD SOUP ARRIVED FOLLOWED BY BADLY BURNED SHRIVELLED SALMON AND A BAKED POTATO WHICH WAS SO OVERCOOKED THAT IT TASTED OF SOOT. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. DO NOT VENTURE IN THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BUMP YOUR PARTNER OFF!!
The Fairhaven – LythamZest Simply lovely food, well presented, nice people, nicely decorated .
Zest Food & Wine Bar – LythamBottomless Brunch, £40 for 2 hours of selected food and drinks. Available 12pm-5pm, seven days a week.
