Bosco – Lytham
Away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, Lytham holds essential ingredients. The Windmill, Lytham Green, Lytham Hall and the River Ribble estuary overlooking the Welsh mountains are all worthy of a postcard. A host of up-market restaurants will tickle your tastebuds.

Bosco – LythamI have never enjoyed Chinese food as much as at "88", not only is the food excellent(freshly cooked and always hot) the welcome from billy and his lovely wife syreena is warm and genuine, nothing is too much trouble for them, get billy to tell you his stories of his days in hong kong very entertaining, yes the whole experience of eating at the 88 is delightful you don't feel rushed once you have finished eating, I recommend the king prawn fried rice a favourite of mine. I would not hesitate to recommend the 88 to anyone, I for one am now a regular there, get yourself along there and enjoy.
Eighty Eight Chinese Restaurant – LythamPorto Beano !! Accommodating and refreshing. The Taps (the neighbouring pub) provides a suitable aperitif. Entering this clinical establishment delivers a medicinal sense of dining safety. Outside of menu the staff deliver. Simple and unpretentious, Italian at its fast food best. Tiggis was missed locally in the 80's but a tiger may have filled the starter lets sea !! Dick Winner
Portofino – LythamWe shared a Rustica Pizza and Seafood pasta and had a salad and greens beans on the side. All were excellent. The owner said they were getting outside seating this week which will be nice if the weather keeps up!
Bosco – LythamVery nice egg fried rice, very well cooked. The sweet 'n' sour chicken was also very delicious. My friend ordered lamb pancakes. I don't usually like lamb, but this lamb was very tender and delicious with cucumber sticks. Thanks.
Woks Cooking – LythamWe went to Henry's Bar last Saturday with some friends. We'd been meaning to go for a while but never got around to going. Now we wish we'd gone earlier. The place was packed but the staff were very attentive, sat us down without a fuss and took our order once we were ready. The food orders arrived pretty quickly and the staff made sure we didn't sit with an empty glass! Food was lovely and the atmosphere was great. Excellent value for money and we'll be back soon. Highly recommended
Henry’s – LythamThe Red Fort is a firm favourite of ours and we have just been for another first class supper. The restaurant has now had a facelift and it looks very appealing and contemporary. We were not looking for a lot to eat but enjoyed a wonderful meal of mushroom puri, salmon tikka, vegetable jayanti, onion rice and one of their to die for garlic naans. Ahad and his team are always hugely attentive and welcoming. The flavours of the various dishes were wonderful, the cooking light and the presentation very attractive. We were even offered a complementary starter - a delicious small stuffed aubergine. I find this restaurant offers fabulous value for money. It provides first class take-aways too. Highly recommended.
Red Fort – Lytham15 us had booked to eat at 7.30pm on a Thursday night and the management had advanced notice that one of the party was in a wheelchair. We arrived to find a long table (not ideal but acceptable) set out with 15 chairs - no problem, we simply removed a chair, sat down and waited....and waited....twenty minutes later a drinks order was taken and menus handed to us. I have to say the food was superb apart from one undercooked steak which was rectified without any problem. However the service was very slow. When we ordered we advised the waiter that we wanted to have main course and puddings only - not a problem we were told. The food arrived at 9.00pm - when I mentioned this to the duty manager he disputed that we had waited so long and told me I was wrong and we wouldn't have had to wait so long if we had all ordered starters. I was a little surprised at his comments. In the event none of us ordered puddings (at £5.45 each) as we were all somewhat taken aback by this chap's comments. Suffice to say our next monthly night out (we eat out as a group every month) will not be to Henrys. To conclude - the food was superb, the service rather slow.
Henry’s – LythamWent here on Easter evening with my girlfriend, her father and his wife. I haven't ever been before so was quite looking forward to Lythams new italian offering. I have to say I was slightly disappointed with the experience overall. The waitress who served us seemed a little out of her depth and the menu was quite limited. Only 2 risotto dishes (one mushroom and one verde full of peas), I usually go for risotto when in an Italian but I don't eat mushroom and didn't want the veggie one so I was a bit stuck. There is no steak or fish either! I then had only pasta as my option which I ended up enjoying. The others at my table not so much, there were grumbles of lack of flavour and dryness. I could go on about my starter but I won't. If you're in competition with Portofino round the corner then you are going to have to do a lot better Bosco. Sorry but I'm in no rush to come back, Portofino is better.
Bosco – LythamUsually you can rely on great food - took friends on Saturday and was very disappointed. They messed up the order - one fillet should have been medium and was rare - the other should have been rare and was medium with a pepper sauce instead of bearnaise. We did tell them and they simply cooked the rare steak a little more and did not make any deduction on the bill. The wrong pizza came and had to be sent back and the lasagna arrived 15 minutes after everything else. Not what we have been used to - hope it was a one off!
Portofino – LythamGreat food and lovely staff......
Zest Food & Wine Bar – LythamThe food is satisfactory, however my experience was tarnished due to the aggressive and rude nature of the staff. The staff failed to provide the food i ordered, but accepted no responsibility for their own inadequacies. They even continued to be rude as we paid and left- a dreadful experience overall.
Fancy That – LythamAbsolutely appalling service and terrible customer service. The staff were incompetent, unprofessional and ill mannered.
Fancy That – LythamThis is a great find 10/10 for food, service & live jazz. We went on a Tuesday & glad we booked as the place was full. Pizza & Risotto fantastic.....& the wine.
Bosco – LythamABSOLUTELY FABULOUS! Six of us dined on a Saturday night and the place was packed. Even so, the service and food was fantastic, and we will definitely return.
Henry’s – LythamI went to Bosco for a Birthday Meal with my family and it was a DISASTER! We walked in the Restaurant and no-one welcomed us at all, we had to sit ourselves down. We were sat for about 20 minutes and still no-one acknowledged us, we had to literally shout the waiter down to take our drinks order. Even then he didn't know what lagers they served and then disappeared for another 10 minutes! When the mains came out, mine was missing! I had to wait another 10 minutes after everyone else got theirs, so of course I was left eating on my own... HAPPY BIRTHDAY ME! One of the mains was undercooked pasta - we sent it back but were still charged for it!!! To top it all, despite being the largest table in there, spending several hundred pounds, the owner made no effort to come and talk to us and showed us no warmth. He spend ages talking to his friends on other tables but made zero effort with ours. I was left feeling cold and ripped-off. Zero atmosphere. Terrible service. Safe to say I won't be going back! There are far better Restaurants in Lytham.
Bosco – LythamLove the risotto here!
Bosco – LythamJust got back in from a meal at Ego. I had goats cheese for starter which was REALLY nice, but could of done with a slightly larger portion as I was enjoying it so much. I had the spaghetti carbonara for my main course which was lovely and filled me just nicely, I wasn't stuffed but I wasn't still hungry either. The host we had really made this an extra-enjoyable meal as there was nothing he couldn't do to make us happy. Great results for Ego, we will be returning as it seems to tick all the boxes here, great food, amazing service and an acceptable price too. WELL DONE EGO!
