Service, atmosphere and food well below the standard of the Prestbury restaurant (which we love). Better tapas places in Macclesfield. Will not be returning to the Chestergate.

Lilac at The Chestergate – MacclesfieldAbsolutely lovely food and people
The Cock – MacclesfieldFabulous meal, excellent service. Would recommend. The only thing I will say, if you don’t know where it is you could miss it, needs more presence on the street.
Lilac at The Chestergate – MacclesfieldCame for my birthday meal was very quiet which was nice. But unfortunately the food was not great the patatas bravas were undercooked and the chicken was very chewy and hard. Lovely atmosphere and wine but would never eat here again. Im hoping they just had a bad night.
Lilac at The Chestergate – MacclesfieldAnother lovely meal at Bacchus, a little gem of a restaurant in Prestbury. Menu choice was good, food beautifully presented & very tasty with great service by attentive staff. Restaurant was full on a Tuesday evening - with a great atmosphere. Definitely would recommend and we will return.

Lilac Cottage Tapas & Wine Bar – MacclesfieldAnother great meal. 1st time for Sunday lunch, lovely Roast beef and Yorkshire pud, plus the usual excellent service and delicious food.
Bacchus Restaurant – MacclesfieldWe went for a meal last night (25/11/23) and love it here. The atmosphere is lovely and the staff cannot do enough for you. We shared our starters of crab cake and goats cheese bon bons which were divine. We both had Barnsley chop for our main which was delicious with the red cabbage and mash. We will return.
Bacchus Restaurant – MacclesfieldThis was our first visit after a recommendation from a taxi driver. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and realised this a different restaurant to normal.
Lilac Cottage Tapas & Wine Bar – MacclesfieldOur meal was exquisite - the dishes arrived periodically as we preferred and the different tastes and textures of each dish was a perfect mixture, a perfect tapas experience. Looking forward to our next visit already. Thank you
Lilac Cottage Tapas & Wine Bar – MacclesfieldWe had a lovely meal on Friday, I had lasagna and my friend had the thai curry, it was delicious, the service was fabulous and the guy serving was very attentive, would definitely go there again.
The Cock – MacclesfieldBooked lunch for myself and three girlfriends after having lunch with my hubby on a previous occasion and it did not disappoint. The food is excellent and we thought quite different to the usual pub grub. The owner and staff are very welcoming and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. I definitely recommend a visit. I will be booking again very soon.
The Cock – MacclesfieldExcellent food. Amazing service. Great Atmosphere
Bacchus Restaurant – MacclesfieldAmazing food, great service, live music, good atmosphere, very reasonable prices. Definitely worth a visit.
Lilac Cottage Tapas & Wine Bar – MacclesfieldThis is such a precious gem of a restaurant! Set in the leafy idyllic village of Prestbury. Every visit feels like a special occasion. All of the staff make you feel so welcome and the restaurant is run like clockwork with perfect timings in between courses. Beautiful fresh produce and well presented dishes. The interior has a real calming ambiance and the view from the window onto the street in the village is very Dickensian. Thank you to all of the team for creating such a fine restaurant in the heart of Cheshire.
