The Salt Bar – MacclesfieldLovely, quaint and cosy place with a limited but tasty menu! Would highly recommend!
The Salt Bar – MacclesfieldReally enjoyable meal. We'll be back.
The Salt Bar – MacclesfieldWe were a group of 5. I booked online no problems. The food was excellent, felt like you were having something a bit special. The service was good even though it was a busy Friday night.
The Salt Bar – Macclesfielde ate lunch on a quiet Fri. I had pre booked & received excellent comms prior to visiting. We were greeted warmly by a friendly lady & this genuinely friendly & warm welcome continued. The menu is unique for Macclesfield & ‘right up our street’. There are meat, fish, veggie & vegan options so literally something for everyone. We shared a sharing board of 3 dishes & a crisp bread, fantastic value & super fresh ingredients. We then had a brunch dish & a prawn skagen, both were wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed the food which was excellent value & I’m doubtful I could ever be bored with the menu or this superb small cafe/restaurant. Well worth a visit if you haven’t tried this place yet, we will definitely return
The Salt Bar – MacclesfieldGreat food and atmosphere, we love coming here. Used their takeaway service during lockdown which was fab. So happy to be back in person.

Lilac Cottage Tapas & Wine Bar – MacclesfieldThis is a great place, fab food and a lovely atmosphere. A must try.
The Salt Bar – MacclesfieldWe had the meatballs and sharing boards which were great, and the coffee/tea with a slice of cake to finish it off. The service was friendly, attentive but not intrusive. Enjoyed the non alcoholic gin cocktail too. Shame for the staff that our table of 4 was the only table there on a weekday evening. Can't fault it and will be back!
The Salt Bar – MacclesfieldDelicious meal, very reasonable prices and good service. We are locals who have been coming here for years and are never disappointed. Highly recommend the duck main course and apple cake desert. Coffee also very good.
The Salt Bar – MacclesfieldA lovely venue with a great atmosphere. The staff are friendly and attentive. The food is incredible! The lamb is a must-try. I would 100% recommend
Lilac Cottage Tapas & Wine Bar – MacclesfieldWonderful food, delicious cocktails and wine. Friendly staff and of course, beautiful decor! Always a treat
Lilac Cottage Tapas & Wine Bar – MacclesfieldWe booked on line for the Secret Garden Section of the restaurant on arrival they did not seen sure about the booking. Showed phone confirmation. Waited to be told customers had not left there table so we’re offered a table in the main restaurant. The food and service were good, just disappointed not to have the table we booked.
Lilac Cottage Tapas & Wine Bar – MacclesfieldWe had a lovely evening; food was delicious, particularly the sharing board, the meatballs and the raspberry & white chocolate waffles. The service was great, friendly and attentive, and the restaurant was very cosy. We will definitely be back!
The Salt Bar – MacclesfieldI booked a table on line on Monday 21st for 18:30 on Friday 25th, specifying that we would like a table in the restaurant. When we arrived we were surprised and disappointed when the waiter tried to lead us out through the back of the restaurant towards another area. We objected, and were told that all the tables in the main restaurant were booked. We decided we did not want to stay, whereupon we were offered table in the main restaurant. We stayed, and had a very enjoyable meal -the food was excellent, it is a pity that it got off to such a bad start. We also noted that another table for 2 in the main restaurant was offered to a couple who had not booked, so I'm not sure why we were initially told that all tables were booked.
