Lilac Cottage Tapas & Wine Bar – MacclesfieldWe visited here for lunchtime on a Saturday. The setting was beautiful, the music made you feel like you were in holiday, the food was delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful. Couldn’t have asked for anything more!
Lilac Cottage Tapas & Wine Bar – MacclesfieldHad a lovely lunch at Salt Bar with a couple of friends. It's the perfect place to go if you want something different but feel at home. The food was delicious and we particularly appreciated having more than one gluten free dessert options to choose from, neither being just ice cream! I had the lemon & lavender polenta cake which was excellent. I will definitely go back again and again.
The Salt Bar – MacclesfieldAnother enjoyable meal, Lilac Cottage never fails to please, served by great staff in a wonderful setting.
Lilac Cottage Tapas & Wine Bar – MacclesfieldFantastic food, flavoursome, great portion sizes. Friendly welcoming staff, beautifully decorated. Live music a bonus
Lilac Cottage Tapas & Wine Bar – MacclesfieldMy husband and I decided to visit the Lilac Cottage for our wedding anniversary lunch, off the back of a recommendation from a friend. We were not disappointed. The venue itself was lovely, we opted to sit in the secret garden, which has been decorated beautifully and was very comfortable seating. The host and other staff were welcoming, friendly and polite. It was a Tuesday afternoon, so it wasn't busy at all (we were the only ones in the garden) and the service was quick. The food was SUPERB! We definitely ordered more than we should of but that's what Tapas is for anyway. Each dish was delicious, was good perfectly and was thoroughly enjoyed. The drinks were good too, I had an aperol spritz and my husband had a cider, unfortunately they didn't have his normal due to a delayed delivery, but instead he opted for a Spanish cider, which was nice and refreshing. Would definitely recommend.
Lilac Cottage Tapas & Wine Bar – MacclesfieldYet another excellent meal in comfortable surroundings and a great atmosphere is these socially-distanced times. Smorgasbord starter offered plenty of choice followed by well-presented mains, burger for me and the meatballs for my wife. Always a favourite and no disappointment here. Just room for a shared dessert-fabulous. Friendly and efficient team made for a very pleasant evening.
The Salt Bar – MacclesfieldGreat as always and the new almond cake dessert was outstanding.
The Salt Bar – MacclesfieldGreat location in hear of Macclesfied, lovely menu, friendly staff and excellent food. Recommended.
The Salt Bar – MacclesfieldWhat can I say, it was absolutely lovely! Have been waiting for lockdown to end and for my daughter to have a bit of spare time to come and join me at The Salt Bar for lunch. Moved into the Macclesfield area a few months ago and this was the first restaurant on my hit list. We had delicious nibbles, really tasty open sandwiches and fantastic dessert. The staff were bob on and we found it more than reasonably priced. My sister-in-law is next on my invitation list - I just know she will enjoy it. You can't fail to find something to please on the menu. Really relaxing atmosphere too.
The Salt Bar – MacclesfieldFood really good loved the Smorgasbord starter. I had the fishcakes which were nice too. I really like the interior of the restaurant, great atmosphere and the waiter was great.
The Salt Bar – MacclesfieldAbsolutely love this place, ive been waiting for lockdown to be over so we could go! Food was fantastic as always for us its worth the 40 minutes drive.. Need to book again soon.
The Salt Bar – MacclesfieldGreat meal and great service couldn't ask for more! Fish soup was incredible .
The Salt Bar – MacclesfieldAttractive location at the bottom of a steep and narrow cobbled street but still with distant views through a large and stunningly beautiful window with ecclesiastical echoes. A limited but interesting menu, very Scandinavian; had four smorgasbord dishes as starter, excellent, followed by a prawn special on toasted rye, and a burger which was fine once I had removed the cranberry sauce (helpfully all on the upper bun) and added seasoning. There are very few hot main dishes, more or less confined to burgers and Swedish meatballs, but that's ok. Pleasant ambience (slightly chilly on this snowy day), service excellent and the wine was pretty good, red and white house choices both fine. Limited opening hours/days for lunch/dinner, not straight through except on Saturday, so check. Worth a visit.
