The Lilac cottage has been great every time we have visited. Last night was especially good. Although they were very busy with several large parties the service was superb. The food was excellent and the waiting time minimal. They are very good at handling allergies. Great atmosphere and great value for money.

Booked a table after a hunt for somewhere between Nottingham and format to meet friends totally missed the fact that it was Scandinavian until we arrived but it was a lovely surprise food was so tasty nicely presented and very reasonable staff were lovely and cosy atmosphere a lovely lunch time

Yet another wonderful meal at the Salt Bar 7th December 2019. As the song says “everyone’s a winner” I introduced another of my friends to the Scandinavian cuisine, charm and exceptional service and she has expressed great interest in returning. If you haven’t been yet give it a go I am sure you won’t be disappointed.

Six of us had a fabulous ladies evening last night at The Salt Bar! Great food, atmosphere and service. We enjoyed cocktails before our meal. We will visit again!

Visited with friends and family, staff were fantastic with the kids. Brought their food out super quick whilst pacing our well for a nice night. Excellent food as always.

My two kids and I took my wife to the lilac cottage for my wife’s birthday. It was perfect, most of the tapas was very authentic with a few additional North African dishes. The food started to arrive quickly and came out as it was cooked, There was s marvellous array of flavours. All four of us had chosen a favourite dish plus we had one of the plattas, none of it disappointed. We also had a paella for two between the four of us. This too was delicious, but we needn’t have worried about the portion size, unfortunately ‘this meant we had over ordered. Half the paella was left. This is now firmly one of the family favourites and my daughter is now planning to have her birthday there too.

A great long-lunch. I'm already looking forward to a return visit.

Delicious food, every single bite. Lovely cocktails! Excellent service, friendly and attentive staff. Great value for money, we had the 2 courses before 6.30pm deal. Will definitely be back!

Great place. If you think Ikea do meatballs, you need to try them here. Both the meat and veggie meatballs are incredible. Wonderfully atmospheric. A great place for a meal
