Lilac Cottage Tapas & Wine Bar – MacclesfieldIt’s been a while since I visited the Salt Bar as the last time I went I thought it wasn’t so good. HOWEVER I’ve been missing out! Went on Saturday night and it was fantastic!! Food was delicious, we had 7 small starters and a main each a dessert to share...everything was really really good! We’ll be back and soon! De Jour – MacclesfieldA lovely Indian restaurant in an old building in the pretty village of Prestbury. Modern and contemporary. a fine dining vibe. Really good service from the very friendly General Manager Ali. My chicken Handi was excellent. Quality chicken breast not the normal frozen nonsense of some old school Indians. I would recommend.

Tempranillo – MacclesfieldBooked our table over the telephone with the owner earlier in the day, he was very friendly and offered plenty of information on their opening times. We arrived just after 7 and there were a few others in but it was very quiet, there is some background music but everyone except us seemed very subdued. The service was absolutely impeccable, and the food was delicious. It arrived in an acceptable time and the main course portions were adequately sufficient, the crispy noodle starter was enormousWill definitely go back and try the buffet at lunchtime or on a Sunday evening, in fact, the people on the table next to us booked to come back on Sunday (three days' time!) - their sea bass looked fabulous too, not that I'm nosey or anything. If I had to change anything, I think it would be the lighting. They seem to be energy savers in the ceiling spots and they give a rather grey glow, but you can't see it when you're up to your eyeballs in curry and noodles.
