Bacchus Restaurant – MacclesfieldI adore this restaurant. The food is excellent, the staff are professional and it really is how a proper restaurant should be. I would highly recommend a visit.
Bacchus Restaurant – MacclesfieldHad midweek lunch, Delicious food, excellent service, very friendly efficient staff, would highly recommend.
Bacchus Restaurant – MacclesfieldOn this occasion a midweek lunch for two. As I always find the service was excellent from the initial attentive greeting to having the door held open on departure, the staff are well trained and professional, friendly, polite and attentive when appropriate and discreet when they perceive that to be suitable……..nobody says “there you go, …..enjoy “ when serving, the serviettes and tablecloths are linen, there is Melba toast, the table setting is lovely with good quality cutlery and plates etc. The food choice is sensibly limited to five for each course, all of which are tempting and delicious; once decided upon the food arrives after just the right time lapse, is well presented and on hot plates and perfectly served at the table. The tables are well spaced which I like, the wine list is very comprehensive, at the same time tap water is offered. The same staff are generally present especially Michael and Paul (plus others whose names I’m ashamed to say I don’t remember), which is special. I never get the impression that the main objective is to take money off me, rather to provide excellent value and top quality at a very reasonable cost. The whole experience reminds me of the best quality hotel restaurants of the 1950/1960s when I was little. Thank you to all those concerned. Keith Knowles.
Bacchus Restaurant – MacclesfieldGood cooking, well priced and excellent service
Bacchus Restaurant – MacclesfieldReally enjoyed the food , friendly helpful staff, only criticism was the food came out not together as a party of 5 so felt awkward waiting for everyone to eat together. Member of staff did apologise for this though.
Lilac at The Chestergate – MacclesfieldFood was good, unfortunately came with a party if 5 and only 3 meals came out together, so felt awkward to eat waiting for the other 2 people to eat, staff friendly and decor was historical and lovely, a nice place to go locally.
Lilac at The Chestergate – MacclesfieldWe visited on Mother’s Day with my little girl (3years). First impression was great. Spotlessly clean and really friendly staff. We enjoyed the roast and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. We will definitely return.
The Cock – MacclesfieldDelicious meal and professional & friendly service in a great setting. Glad the restaurant has maintained standards over the years. Personally I thought my tuna starter was ever so slightly overcooked but otherwise a delicious meal!
Bacchus Restaurant – MacclesfieldFantastic food and excellent service.
Bacchus Restaurant – MacclesfieldBefore going I had heard mixed things about the service not being great but I wanted to see for myself. The restaurant has a nice interior. We were given a £4.99 bottle of Prosecco from Aldi and charged £30 for it. We had a 40 minute wait for the food (there was only 4 other tables in) when the food did arrive there was no apology. The food was nice but it didn’t blow me away and I’ve had much nicer tapas in Macclesfield and Bollington. I emailed the restaurant to let them know how disappointed I was and I’ve heard nothing back. I will not be going back and I would not recommend.
Lilac at The Chestergate – MacclesfieldLoved It Food was delicious Service excellent
Lilac Cottage Tapas & Wine Bar – MacclesfieldWe had heard great things about this restaurant but it exceeded our expectations. Friendly & attentive service, lovely ambiance, stylish but relaxed and excellent food. The quality of all food served was fabulous. It is also nice to find fine dining with good portions. A real treat evening, we will be back. Thank you
Bacchus Restaurant – MacclesfieldVisited for a birthday lunch and was not disappointed. Great menu selection and excellent service. Look forward to our next visit.
Bacchus Restaurant – MacclesfieldLovely evening spent with my partner. Booked an evening table for 7pm. Had a nice cosy corner in the restaurant area. Table service was pretty quick and all the staff were very friendly. The food choices available were plentiful and portion sizes were more than adequate to share between 2 people. Have to say the food was lovely......we didn't leave a thing which is usually a good sign. The only criticism about the evening was the menu itself. It was the green lettering on a black background. With the low lighting it made it difficult to see and we had to use our phones to illuminate them. Apart from that we haven't got a bad thing to say about Lilac at The Chestergate. Would definitely recommend to friends and family and we will certainly be back sometime soon.
Lilac at The Chestergate – MacclesfieldFood is very good but unfortunately there were not enough staff on duty and they were clearly very stressed and chaotic. Not their fault and they did their best. Would be better to hold guests downstairs in the bar and take them up to the restaurant when the table is ready and stagger the bookings more.
Lilac at The Chestergate – MacclesfieldI thought a few year ago the food wasn’t as good so I stopped going. However I have been twice in the last month with family and friends and everyone has loved it. The food has improved a lot, though sometimes they don’t have certain items . It’s definitely improved and I will be going more often now. thanks
Lilac Cottage Tapas & Wine Bar – MacclesfieldHonestly some of the best tapas we’ve ever had, we love going out for food 3/4x a week and this was amazing the staff were super friendly, informative and a laugh. The atmosphere was great the drinks great! (Even if they didn’t get to have the blueberry daiquiri) food great! everything! We cannot complain and would not about a single thing we are coming back every week!!
