Avalanche Restaurant – Manchester City CentreGreat food and fantastic service, and the restaurant has an amazing interior.
Avalanche Restaurant – Manchester City CentreWent there for lunch with my boyfriend, and we both loved the food. Very attentive waiters, food came fast, nice and relaxing deco. Will definitely come back and I do highly recommend it!
Avalanche Restaurant – Manchester City CentreDelicious food and fantastic service. Went on Saturday, restaurant was packed and everyone seemed to have a brilliant time. There are 3 bars in the restaurant and ambience is fantastic.
Avalanche Restaurant – Manchester City Centresevice terrible, food awful. Walked out in disgust after 1.5 hours. Avoid
Avalanche Restaurant – Manchester City CentreWent for lunch with my father and stepmother and it was a perfect afternoon. Service was perfect and food was exceptional. We all had the 3 course lunch menu and everything was perfection on a plate, the 3 cheese pie was exceptional and a must try! All in all a very enjoyable afternoon, perfect food and relaxing surroundings. Will be trying the evening selection soon!
Annies Restaurant – Manchester City CentreWent for lunch here on saturday. We were greeted very warmly and even though the signage said they stopped serving lunch at 2pm we were accomodated with no fuss at all just after. The decor is very cosy and because the main dining area is downstairs we almost felt like it was evening. The food was very good, tasty and well portioned. We had home made pies for the main course, one was 3 cheese and onion and the other Chicken, leek and black pudding. Both were very good, warm filling and just the right size for lunch. The only slight criticism could be that we were often left alone in the dining room with no staff on hand for more drinks, to take dessert orders, or get the bill for us. It was very relaxed and in the evening this would have been great but for a lunchtime it was just a bit too relaxed as we had other things to do for the rest of the day. Overall this was a great experience and I would recommend everyone to try it out. The food was great and the welcome we received was second to none! I hope this place does well though as the owners were so nice!! Good luck Chris and Jenny!!
Annies Restaurant – Manchester City CentreQuite possible the most unhelpful and unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. Not only do they not take payments on time and leave you in limbo but they do not offer refunds or any form of appeasement for guests who are unable to attend due to ill health. I bought a trip for my aunt who was taken ill with serious influenza and hospitalised the night before only to be told that "She didn't ring and there's nothing we can do!" This is quite possibly the most atrocious customer service I have ever come across! Avoid this company!
City Centre Cruises – Manchester City CentreI went to Avalanche on Wednesday and had seabass while my husband had steak. The food was great and the restaurant interior is light and bright and very beautiful. I will be booking here for Xmas and I would recommend it strongly!!!
Avalanche Restaurant – Manchester City CentreAfter reading the reviews we thought we should try this restaurant while in Manchester doing the christmas markets. After wards wished we had chosen the Duck as the next table had, my sirloin steak ahd a definite 'liver' taste to it I am not really sure how that happend however the taste stayed with me all night!!!! The restaurant had a fab atmosphere, so we will give it another go when we come to town again.
Panama Hattys – Manchester City CentreI dined at the restaurant on the weekend and the food was fantastic. I had to wait 35 minutes for my starter, however the restaurant was packed and it was worth it.
Avalanche Restaurant – Manchester City CentreAn amazing restaurant and great food.
Avalanche Restaurant – Manchester City CentreLove the concept of this restaurant. 2 choices, steak or Lobster. Both dishes are a very reasonable £15. I chose the lobster and had it grilled rather than steamed. Either dish comes wih fries and salad. I was particularly impressed that the waiters continually offered to replenish the fries and salad. Good selection of wines too. Service was professional as you would expect from a Radisson Edwardian. Even got to see Peter Andre in there!
Steak & Lobster Manchester – Manchester City CentreNice steak.
Steak & Lobster Manchester – Manchester City CentrePopped into the Crown and Kettle Saturday afternoon 17/11/12 1pm the plan was to have a couple of beers with my sister and a meal before going to watch Man City playing Aston Villa I am a city fan. I had travelled over from Birmingham for the day where I now live and was waiting at the pub for my sister who was working at miles platting library. I walked in the pub asked for half of bitter and the bar man turned me down straight away after sizing me up and down first. He said that they did not allow trainers in the pub. I remonstrated with him and showed that I was infact wearing a pair of walking boots but he just sneared at me and said that they were the same as walking boots. I looked arounnd the pub and noticed it was quiet only a few people were in watching the Tottenham v Arsenal game but when looking at the foot wear of others I noticed some blokes were wearing what I would class as casual suede type trainers. I think the real reason if truth be known was that this bar man was a man united fan and obviously had some major predjudices against city fans. I had visited there a few weeks earlier before another city game and united were on the tv playing Liverpool nothing was said to me on that occasion yet I was wearing trainers then. It is such a shame that a nice morning planned with my sister who had visited the pub on other occasions and recommended it for a get together on saturday had been ruined by a jobs worth/ predjudiced idiot. I am a totally respectable 52 year old teacher who just happens to support city and wears a pair of boots to ward off the cold of the day. I wont be going there again and whilst I was in there I did not notice anything about footwear!!! Disillusioned blue!!
Crown and Kettle – Manchester City CentreBeing a traditional, old school pub in the heart of Manchester's business quarter the Town Hall Tavern's menu reflects this and is comfortably conservative. Lancashire Hotpot rubs shoulders with Steak and Ale Pie and Cumberland Sausage. The emphasis is on home cooking, the pastry on our steak pie being crisp and thin, the accompanying chips fat and moreish. What let's it down is the little touches at pretension - vegetables served in ramekins, dusting a of cayenne pepper around the rims of plates etc. Oh yes, the word "jus" should NEVER appear on the menu of a British pub unless the owners have delusions of their establishment becoming a gastropub.Prices are very competitive, portion sizes are comfortable and service is casual yet efficient.
The Town Hall Tavern – Manchester City CentreFirst time here – both at the Bridgewater Hall and its restaurant – and must say I was very impressed. Some really interesting dishes on the menu like turbot and pheasant which you don’t see too often, very reasonable prices and friendly and efficient service. I wonder if you can dine here even if you aren’t going to a concert?
