Dreadful experience. Treated very badly from start to finish. Food nice but everything else terrible.
Zouk Tea Bar – Manchester City CentreI have been to the restaurant for more than 3 years now. The quality of the food has probably stayed the same but a few other factors contributing to the nature of service have changed for the worse. Take today for example. Their credit card machine was not working and I didn't have any cash. So they suggested that I fetch cash leaving my son behind as a collateral security. Not a restaurant that I would like to go back to.
Buffet City – Manchester City CentreI had one heck of a great meal at this fantastic restaurant the other week. The sushi/sashimi platter was excellent, and the Beef Teriyaki was supreme. I shall definitely be visiting again, and hope to do so regularly.
Tokyo Season – Manchester City CentreI went to San Carlo on Thursday for a late lunch with a friend. I have been very satisfied by the quality of the food. I had lobster which was fresh and prepared to perfection. First, I was a bit unconfident to order seafood because of a bad experience in another well known restaurant few months ago but I saw the waiter bring a lobster to the table next to us and it seemed really nice. Indeed, it was delicious! Finally, I have found a restaurant that can offer good value for money and a good service.
San Carlo – Manchester City CentreGiorgios is simply super! I went for a meal out with my nan and we we're so impressed! The waiter 'Guiseppe' was so on the ball and his wit was magical. Such a lovely man, nice manners, tall and true Italian 'dark'. His eyes were full of the passion of the med and his skin a lovely sun ripened olive. I loved his deep gravelly accent. it made the food taste good. mike
Giorgios – Manchester City CentreRed Hot World Buffet has only been open a month or so in Manchester but is already attracting queues of customers from lunchtime right through to the evening. With branches in Leeds, Liverpool and Nottingham among others it is not too difficult to see what all the fuss is about. Allegedly the Manchester branch has over 300 dishes on its buffet menu in a self serve restaurant which can seat up to 350 people. Our lunchtime visit, after a short wait was rewarded with a good percentage of those 300 dishes to choose from and the hope that we would have the appetite to match! The buffet is divided into oriental, tex mex, Indian, Italian and British - disappointingly we couldn't find the advertised Mediterranean or Thai sections. However with my plate full to the edges with deep fried scallops, calamari, vegetable spring rolls, spare ribs and noodles the disappointment was short lived. The next hour or so became a blur of revisits to the buffet - char grilled corn on the cob, lemon chicken, lamb rogan josh, bombay potatoes, daal. For less than £30 for two including a bottle of crisp Chilean Sauvignon Blanc Red Hot's lunchtime menu cannot be recommended highly enough. It's more expensive in the evening and no doubt the queues are even longer.
Yo! Hot- Manchester City Centrethe meal we had at the new emperor was fantastic the best Chinese meal we have ever had
New Emperor – Manchester City CentreWe went to this restaurant for our 50th wedding anniversary last week, after it being recommended by our friends. The food was unbelievably beautiful and the prices very reasonable, however the whole experience was ruined by one waiters negative attitude and very rude/aggressive behavior towards customers. On the whole we would recommend this place and go there again, but avoid the waiter wearing spectacles.
Rozafa – Manchester City CentreThe restaurant was nicely decorated and had a nice atmosphere If you ignore the awful warbling in the background, The staff weren't friendly but quick and highly efficient. The food on the other hand was awful. I took two bites of this £14 plate of 3 prawns and what I can only call terrible and hard rice crispy treats with the worst tangiest processed sweet and sour sauce and wanted to throw up. My stomach cannot tolerate awful food, but my partner on the other hand has a stomach of steel and he felt worse after a bite. I cannot stress how terrible the food was, the Chef could have literally defacated a Chinese takeaway on our plates and would have tasted better. It is overpriced garbage I've had better Chinese food at a £2.50 all you can eat buffet. Don't waste your time or money.
Red Chilli – Manchester City Centrei have been Qila Khyber, my friend told me about this takeaway.i was really surprised when i saw BBC tv super star there .and i ate chicken biryani and masala fish which u couldn't find in Manchester and beautiful rice'n'3 curries.i think Qila is the best restaurant in Manchester
Qila Khyber – Manchester City CentreTook my sister & 59 friends on her surprise 40th Birthday.... absolutely amazing night!! The staff are extremely organised got everyone served on time - Food - mixed reviews half loved it - half said ok but think that's because they weren't sure about Greek food anyway? However... entertainment - TOTALLY AMAZING!! If you want a fun crazy night - you HAVE to visit - loved it - enjoy!
Bouzouki By Night – Manchester City CentreI came with a group of 12 teachers over a week ago. Was pleasantly surprised with my delicious pizza, and everyone was full with their servings. Ooo the sweet caramel was great. I'm awaiting confirmation by yourselves for another reservation on Monday, June 13 with more friends.
Dough Pizza Kitchen – Northern QuarterAte in the bar at the GRILL on the ALLEY on Saturday night. We didn't book and couldn't fit in the restaurant, so we opted for the bar which I wasn't best pleased about to be fair. But I had a lovely meal and the service was just as good as in Restaurant. I had changed my mind at the end as it was great to see the pianist downstairs playing. I chose the Seabass and my partner the prawns; lovely and fresh. Had the cheesecake for afters which was divine. Would dine in the bar again!
The Grill On the Alley – Manchester City Centrewe have dined at the stockport for many years and found both the staff and the food brilliant as we were in Manchester last Monday(23rdmay)we called in and had yet another very good meal and reasonably priced too
Rozafa – Manchester City CentreI took my wife for a meal to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary.I had been once before when i used to work in Manchester, some 16 years ago.We really enjoyed the food. The vegetarian range is good, the owner was knowledgeable about the food, very helpful as were the other staff. The portions are quite filling. At the moment we are enjoying trying different Thai restaurants & would certainly re-visit this one if we were in the vicinity
Siam Orchid – Manchester City CentreWe ate at Stock for a Friday lunch. The set menu for £10 gave us two superb courses -the ravioli was divine and the sea bass was delicious. Great value in spectacular surroundings - would highly recommend.
Stock Restaurant – Manchester City CentreWas known until recently as Detox-Retox. But has been re-branded Bistro 1847. 1847 being the year the vegetarian Society was formed. The bar offers a fantastic range of cocktails, spirits, wines & bottle beers, all of which are suitable for a vegetarian diet. Great imaginative food which is exclusively vegetarian, and some superb Vegan options, even my meat eating friends were also pleasantly surprised with how good the dishes were. Will definitely be back!!
Bistro 1847 – Manchester City CentreThe self proclaimed "purveyors of real ale, fine food, splendid wine and atmosphere" - Spot on description I'll say! Prices pretty reasonable too. Must try out their sister establishments ODD and ODDEST
