Zouk Tea Bar – Manchester City CentreAte at Room on Monday night and had the excellent crisp pork belly with 2 hand dived scallops. Great cocktails too, excellent in all departments
Grand Pacific restaurant and bar – Manchester City CentreWent on the off chance on Saturday as out for a night on Canal St. What a FAB restaurant! The service was a little slow but the food was certainly worth the wait. Nice unpretentious atmosphere and the best risotto I've ever eaten. Very reasonable prices too. Will definitely go back and would recommend to anyone
Villaggio – Manchester City CentreHad a great meal on Saturday night at Room - venison cooked to perfection with pistachio and chocolate. Top notch
Grand Pacific restaurant and bar – Manchester City CentreWent for lunch at Earth Vegetarian Cafe and Juice Bar last week. Only one word to describe it - FANTASTIC. Gorgeous food, lovely venue and beautiful friendly staff. The Vegan Cheesecake is to die for. Keep up the good work guys. xxx
Earth Cafe – Northern QuarterThis is my first visit at the Chaophraya and my first impression was this is not a children friendly restaurant. There were 7 of us including my 22 months old son, we were led to a table that had high stools and high bench which were not safe for my son to sit. So I asked the waitress if there were any other tables that are lower down (normal height) and she replied no, then she point at the high bench and indicate that my son can sit there. I don't think she really care about the safety aspect nor did she offer a high chair for my son. It was then I saw they had a baby high chair (very dirty) at the corner, so I asked her whether he can use that high chair, she just said yes and walked off. So we had to go and get the high chair and clean it ourselves. We actually felt this waitress was unfriendly and quite rude in the way she treated us. The food was good but the service was quite poor.
Chaophraya – Manchester City CentreTook my other half and mum here for a birthday treat, very average tapas and small portions (for tapas dishes),expensive and as previous recommendations same sauces seem to re-appear,disappointed to be honest. Not a patch on El Rincon!
Evuna Deansgate – Manchester City CentreAte here 2 weeks ago will be the 1st and last time. Love Greek food but this place seems to have lost any sense of Greek identity with some weird dishe's !
Bouzouki By Night – Manchester City CentreWe dined there last week and had sushi, which, not being an aficionado of Japanese food, decided that it was OK,just that. Very friendly prompt service by the young lady in traditional dress. I do not like though being asked whether i want to add a tip when I am paying by card, which I was. Also I thought the entrance stairs could be a little more appealing. Other that that we will give it another try.
Tokyo Season – Manchester City CentreMyself, two other adults and my son visited Efes on 14/09/2009 for the buffet. You pay according to the time slot you visit. There is so much variety to choose from such as salad, bread, pizza, lasagna, spaghetti, different choice of rice dishes, onion rings, various meaty dishes, cold salads (e.g. potato salad, pasta salad). To finish there are profiteroles, plus two other cakes or for the more health conscious grapes and melon. As it is buffet style you eat as much as you like. Four very hungry people tucked in and found all our tastes "satisfied" and as a vegetarian I didn't feel left out. The restaurant has a relaxing feel (we visited at around 5pm) due to the subtle background music. We left with full tummies and it only came to £28 for all four - Bargain!
Efes Restaurant & Taverna – Manchester City CentreSimply the best Japanese food in Manchester. The sushi and sashimi is super fresh and the beef sashimi is truly amazing. You MUST give this place a go.
Tokyo Season – Manchester City CentreWent there on a Saturday night which was very busy, did not have to wait as we were immediately attended and seated in our table. Excellent service, competant waiters who were friendly and able to explain the dishes to us. The Tandoori haddock and the Lamb Nihari is a must have. The nihari is one of the best curries I have ever had. Would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a great meal out.
Zouk Tea Bar – Manchester City CentreExcellent service followed by excellent wine followed by excellent food! Not a bad word to say. Front of house geordie lad excellent! Chef a top lad, took time to talk to us and looked like had a good team working with him. Cant wait to call again. 110 out of 110 from us. The 42 crewe.
Fahrenheit Bar & Grill – Manchester City CentreWe ate at the City Cafe on Friday Evening. The food was absolutely delightful , a mouthwatering menu.Fabulous Lamb , wonderful desserts served by the most professional waitress we have had for some time. Highly recommended.
Mint – Manchester City CentreSecond visit to Zouk and was impressed again,as good as Akbars and EastZEast'S similar types.35 quid for 3 of us more than enough,no drinks though, very busy Friday night but we didn't need to book.Parking maybe a problem but we got lucky.Recommended.
Zouk Tea Bar – Manchester City Centrethe food in this restaurant is by so far the best Indian food you could ever eat.sant the head of the restaurant makes everyone feel special, and the food blows you away.i was brought here as a child and many many years later everyone i bring holds it number 1 in nepalese food!!never one let down just leaves you with craving to go back!!!"makhan chicken",the best
Rajdoot Tandoori – Manchester City CentreBeen Hong Kong many times, this is the nearest you ll get to it.Food fantastic, tasty and hot/lots local Chinese eat there/must be good sign.Must return soon.
Fus Chinese Restaurant Cafe – Manchester City CentreWe were told about the Angel by someone who writes restaurant reviews, but it took us a while to get there. I'm so glad we did. Yes, it's a small local pub in a bit of a down at heel Manchester (but with lots of new apartments going up- is someone trying to gentrify Ancoats?) Yes, the decor reflects this. But frankly, I didn't care in the slightest because the food was excellent, the beer (I'm told) was good & the service friendly. The menu was short, but still gave me problems deciding what to have. It was supplemented by some daily specials, which included Spam fritters! (Sorry, didn't get round to them, got stuck at the Morecambe Bay shrimp fishcake). We had our tame vegetarian with us. She's a good barometer as to whether a restaurant's good, based purely on what's available for her - she gets bored with pasta etc, which, as she points out, she can make at home for a fraction of the price. Although there was only one possible starter and one main course on the menu, she couldn't have been happier than with her goats cheese crumpet followed by potato cakes with mushrooms. Oh, the carnivores were kept happy too - black pudding starter for my other half & then fishy main courses - fish stew with spinach for him, and a whole sea bream for me. We had a side order of chips and vegetables. All three of us found that one portion of each was enough to keep all of us happy. We managed (barely) the Eccles cakes for dessert, and staggered out full. And we'll go back.
