absolutely amazing, period! will definitely be returning on every birthday/occasion!
Wings – Manchester City CentreThis is probably the best restaurant I've been too. The front of house staff were so friendly and not at all fake. The food was amazing and the setting along with a live jazz band was top notch. I couldn't recommend it more!
Stock Restaurant – Manchester City CentreThe freshest sushimi ever, traditional but comfortable, seated at shared tables with napkins placed around your neck by the traditionally dressed waitress, samurai type chef, must have been lucky that night, fresh food cooked in front of you an a flat griddle, excellent, would go every week if could afford.
Teppanyaki Chinatown – Manchester City CentreDecor little gloomy, food very authentic, beef buglee is a must, well worth the visit, make sure you eat the lettuce and meat the correct way-in little wraps, don? try to eat it like a kebab, I foolishly made this mistake.
Koreana – Manchester City CentreThis is the second time I have dined at this restaurant and it was as excellent an experience as the first time. By far the best Indian food I have ever tried and that includes the best that the 'curry mile' has to offer. The size of the dishes were perfectly proportioned. The selection of wines on offer is just the right level and very reasonably priced. The service was great even to the extent that the chef brought out the sizzling mixed starter. Highly recommended and I will be returning regularly.
East z East – Manchester City CentreWhat a pleasure to have a decent ''modern British'' place around the corner so to speak. The Northern Quarter is one of those little Metroland gems off the main shopping area and close to the Tram Network. The English Lounge has been refurbished inside with lovely decor as instructed by the staff, fresh flowers and a log fire. The owner oversees the unhurried service and kitchens. The waiters are young but not the usual gormless spotty oiks you often encounter. They offer all sorts of a la carte, bistro, lunch, dinner and prix fixe menus. We went for a Sunday lunch and it was welcoming, with a pleasant family atmosphere. Nice bread selections and for starters we both opted for the Roast Parsnip Soup. Mains for both of us were traditional Roast Beef Sirloin cooked pinkish but nice and crusty outside, proper crunchy roast spuds and a nice selection of al dente veg. We had a nice lightest red wine (can't remember which) espressos and petit fours. Treat yourself to a Sunday in the English Lounge, A further advantage was that we walked home, and collapsed for the rest of the day. Approved fully.
English Lounge – Northern QuarterHip Hip Horrai - a authentic Mexican Restaurant at last in the area. My husband and I enjoyed our dinner so much that I had to write a recommendation. Go no further than here for a truly scrummy meal with fresh ingredients and a refreshingly modest price.
Barburrito – Manchester City CentreI must say that this restaurant is a little jem hidden away. We could not find it at first but it was worth the walk. We had an amazing time at the food and wine event to celebrate Chinese New Year. The quality of the food was exquisite - the best Chinese we have had in a long time. I thought the wines were well matched to the food and would definitely be returning to dine again. Thanks girls. Nick
Sweet Mandarin – Northern QuarterA nice cosy and intimate atmosphere with good staff. Excellent selection of wine as expected from a Wine Importer. I would suggest that this is not really a Tapas bar as the ambiance just isn? right, what is on the menu is effectively a range of starters at a reasonable price - and very nice they are too, having had the Garlic Prawns with Chilli and the Chorizo in red wine. Next came the main courses with the fresh Tuna in wine sauce which was cooked just perfectly but I think I was unfortunate to have a slightly dry Sea food Paella. Overall: Nice ambiance; the food is well presented and cooked to a high standard; the range and taste of the wines are excellent; friendly and helpful staff; Worth a visit.
Evuna Deansgate – Manchester City CentreThe food was ok but it was a bit cheesy. There was a flood in the ladies toilets and could cause someone to slip. Service was very good and the food was very tasty. Its an excellent place for children and they love the ice cram factory!
Pizza Hut – Manchester City CentreAn interesting decor and ambiance though I thought the tables a little close together. Varied selection of starters but I and my guests thought rather plain to the taste. Main course was likewise average with nothing standing out. A little on the 'dry' side was the final impression.
Koreana – Manchester City CentreThe overall balance of this place is spot on, food, ambience and price. Feels like being in real Spain. The house red wine is always good value. The Tapas menu for 10 persons plus is an excellent sampler. Ivan Campo the BWFC Spanish footballer has been seen and if a Spanish team is in town their fans find their way there. Used by the 'locals' when they are abroad!!!
El Rincon de Rafa – Manchester City CentreJust been to Barburrito in Piccadilly Gardens... thought the food was excellent and the place is cool. Had a shredded beef burrito with the extra hot salsa. Very tasty and cost me less than a fiver with a soft drink. Definitely worth a visit if you want a quick bite to eat on the way back to the train station.
Barburrito – Manchester City CentreI highly recommend Barburrito's. The food was fantastic. Top quality ingredients all freshly cooked. fast efficient service with a real friendly atmosphere and all for a song. Will definitely go again next time I'm in Manchester & take my friends too.
Barburrito – Manchester City CentreHave to agree with all below - I spent the weekend in Manchester and can't believe this chain (is it a chain?) hasn't opened in London yet - proper Mexican, fresh ingredients, excellent place - almost worth the trip on its own!
Barburrito – Manchester City CentreMy boyfriend took me here for a birthday meal and I definitely wasn? disappointed with his choice! The restaurant looks amazing, as does the bar. The squid starter was the best thing I've ever tasted. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Restaurant Bar and Grill – Manchester City CentreWe went to the Rice Bowl as could not face the walk into Chinatown from the city centre and was very happy we did not bother. Going early meant we were able to chose from the Pre Fix menu, which was £9.50 for two courses. The service was excellent and very attentive and we were surprised that we were not on our own at 5.15pm. The hot and sour soup was just that! And the chicken with asparagus and cashews was fantastic and the sliced beef in Peking sauce was lovely and sticky! All washed down with free refills of Chinese tea. We had a lovely night out and we will certainly recommending The Rice Bowl to our friends who live in Manchester and going there again when we can.
The Rice Bowl – Manchester City CentreFine choice of foods not much queuing (good) a good level of service at a reasonable price. Would certainly recommend it to others
